It is precisely because of their vast intellectual and academic advancements that their connection to Christian morality was lost and the deaths of millions ensued. Soviet communism denies the Deity in the name of progress, and millions more die.

This is progress. This is progressive reality. This is the progressive ideology that modern American progressives are organically linked to whether or not they accept it or are willing to admit it.

Abortion is progress.
Euthanasia is progress.
Duty to die is progress.
Eugenics is progress.
Sacrificing human embryos is progress.
Artificial conception and gestation are progress.
Environmental worship is progress.
Entitlements and dependency are progress.
Moral and ethical relativism are progress.
Hypersensitivity and political correctness are progress.
Feminizing the culture is progress.
Government intrusion and the nanny state are progress.
Open borders, global governance and the 'international community' are progress.
Unqualified pacifism is progress.

But the ordinary things that built Western Civilization are called ignorant, backward and unenlightened. Tradition, Christian morality and wisdom, marriage and family, the sanctity of life, belief in an immortal soul, and God Himself do not fit into the progressive model.

This is where progressivism takes civilization -- this is where the American left is steering our nation.

This brings back memories. I remember watching "Dragnet" in the fifties and sixties.
I think every one of the episodes had a similar monologue for the situation at hand. His machine-gun like delivery, aurthoritative voice, and message content got and held your attention.
Most of those monologues are very relevant to today's world.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.
