Obama May Take Failed Soda Tax National
New York Governor David Paterson's attempt to tax soda flopped so spectacularly that Comrade Obama now wants to inflict it on the whole country:
The President, in an interview with Men's Health magazine released yesterday, said he thought taxing soda and other sugary drinks is worth putting on the table as Congress debates health care reform.
"It's an idea that we should be exploring," the President said. "There's no doubt that our kids drink way too much soda."
He'd better hope they start drinking whole oceans of it if he's going to use a soda tax to pay for socialized medicine, which may cost enough to literally bankrupt the country, à la Cloward-Piven.
Less politically tone deaf than their master, some of Chairman Zero's minions have denied there are plans for a soda tax. However,
Thomas Frieden, who Obama put in charge of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also has spoken up for the idea. In his previous job as Mayor Bloomberg's health commissioner, Frieden played a key role in promoting healthy habits, including the smoking ban in bars and calorie counts on fast-food menus.
Bloomberg is the quintessential nanny state tyrant. There may soon be regulations in NYC telling his subjects how many times they must chew their food before they can swallow. Under Obama, his style of governance is now imposed at the federal level.
Only a month ago, Comrade Obama renewed his preposterous vow not to increase taxes on the middle class, despite levels of spending unprecedented in human history. But it's true that in the America he's creating, only the rich will drink soda.

Why stop there? Why not tax Ho-hos, ding dongs, twinkies, cakes, pastries, ice cream (childrens Icecream, Mandrake!), all other frozen snacks, pies, potato chips, pretzels, nachos, cheese, milk, meat, humus, pork rinds,-------- and WHAT ABOUT KOOL-AID !!!!
Ok, KOOL-AID is exempt for obvious reasons.
