Nutjob Blogger Busted for Marijuana Possession
Andrew Sullivan, the Perez Hilton of The Atlantic monthly, was arrested for possession of marijuana earlier this summer. Sullivan --- or as he prefers to be called, RawMuslGlutes --- was once considered sort of conservative. Compared to screeching gay leftists like Michelangelo Signorile and Dan Savage, RMG did look sort of conservative in the way Ruth Bader Ginsburg looks sort of hot if she's standing next to Janet Reno and Madeleine Albright.
But RMG flipped out when George W. Bush endorsed the Federal Marriage Amendment on February 24, 2004. RMG's descent into madness can be traced to that day. After previously supporting the War against Islamic Fascism, he did an immediate 180, adopted the moonbat definition of torture --- any discomfort of any degree or duration a terrorist or a terrorist's lawyer complains about --- and shrieked repeatedly about the Bush Torture Regime. His Daily Dish weblog became a laughingstock because of his penchant for posting emails from Mobys --- lefties pretending to be "lifelong Republicans" who had seen the light and embraced Bush-hatred --- and began parroting talking points from neo-Marxist whackjob site DailyKos. His insanity culminated in his embracing -- obsessively -- the nutjob, soap-opera conspiracy theory that Sarah Palin was not really Trig Palin's mother.
So, is drug use to blame for his insanity? Maybe, because drugs do have that effect on some people, and leftist rhetoric is more believable when you're "wee-weed" up. RMG has hinted at more extensive drug use in the past, IIRC, and takes steroids and a variety of other medications for HIV. Dumping all those chemicals in one's body can't be a good thing. But it's also possible he simply became deranged because in his heart, he's a spoiled child who wanted a toy, and on 02/24/2004 an adult told him "No."

I'm ashamed to say that after 9/11 I actually sent Sullivan a donation. I was impressed that a normally liberal gay man saw the threats against us so clearly and seemed to be a true Conservative. I thought we had much in common. Then he became afflicted with BDS. After his startling turn to the left I wished I could get my donation back.
He soon became the darling of left-wing hosts like Mathews and Maher. His purpose for being on almost every panel seemed to be "See, here's a Conservative who agrees with us". Now I can't even look at him.
The pot thing doesn't bother me. Alcohol is much more destructive.

I used to like Sullivan but apparantly something horrible happens to peoples cognitive ability after too many years of wearing chaps and fully inserted buttplugs....

Pot and kool-aid indeed. The gay community was ball deep into Obama's cause because he'd toss them a bone here and there and everyone thought that "Change" included normalizing the deviancies, because after all, 8% of the population (at most, and Liberals are doing their best to increase it, by telling young kids it's perfectly fine not to like the other sex) has to be considered normal like the other 92%!

As the old 70s antidrug ads went WHY DO YOU THINK THEY CALL IT DOPE?

"RMG did look sort of conservative in the way Ruth Bader Ginsburg looks sort of hot if she's standing next to Janet Reno and Madeleine Albright."
That's funny and truly expressive.

Pot is probably one of the most harmless drugs available. If you drink a beer after work, you are doing more damage to yourself. Let's stick to the issues.

And we have a new member of the Liberal Marxist Bong Water Brigade - Keyboard Commando Division gracing us with their looser junkie views.

If you want to make the case that you can use large amounts of drugs and not turn into a raving lunatic, you may not want to use Andrew Sullivan as your poster boy.

Ongoing use of pot (i.e., you pointedly refuse to quit) causes political liberalism:

Not to mention that frequent, ongoing use causes cognitive impairments, memory loss, etc. If Sullivan is a pothead, that may explain a lot about him.

P.S. Pot and alcohol cause roughly the same amount of damage, to people and society. The notion that smoking pot causes distinctly *less* damage than drinking one beer after work is absurd; I hope it was meant jokingly.

I'm sure forcing toxic, mood altering smoke into your lungs and holding it in until you have to take a breath is perfectly healthy. What could possibly go wrong with such a wholesome activity?

Andrew who....??
Posted by: Toa at September 12, 2009 9:15 AM
Rednecks drink beer. Hippies smoke pot. Ipso facto, pot is more dangerous to society.
