No One Should Have to Choose Between Healthcare and Frivolous Self-Indulgence

The poor already get taxpayer-financed healthcare: it's called Medicaid. The promise of ObamaCare is that everyone — whether needy or not — can force others to pay for their healthcare, which will free up money for more important expenditures, like body-building supplements and designer jeans.

Socialism is the scam by which a criminal syndicate convinces parasitical idiots that everyone can live for free on everyone else's dime. After the arguments that no one should have to choose between healthcare and whatever, we'll soon hear arguments that no one should have to choose between housing and clothing, then that no one should have to choose between clothing and food, then that no one should have to choose between food and water, and so on until communism has been attained and we find ourselves on our knees thanking the government for the barest subsistence. But at least it will be free.

That was good. I loved the poignant background music to underscore the "hard choices" made by those, poor, poor people.

You know the supermarkets make obscene profits. Also, people don't always make optimal food choices. The time for ObamaFood is now. And anyone who opposes it is racist.

If anyone gets government assistance from the taxpayers they should be banned from buying designer anything and only be allowed to shop at discount clothing outlets. No $200 pairs of designer basketball shoes, no TV with a screen size over 20 inches (only 1 TV per household), no cable TV (broadcast only), no electronic recording devices can be attached to a TV. No X-Box, Wii's or any other luxury electronics items. Computers access limited to 56K dial up service. Everyone would have to have their new Social Security card scanned to verify whether or not they are receiving government assistance. This money should instead be spend on food and clothing. But if they get too fat, they will be sent to collective government farms to work 16 hour days to work off the fat.

Absolutely correct. After healthcare it will be something else and then something else and then something else.

Yesterday Michael Medved had Thom Hartmann, the leftwing radio nutjob, on his show and they were talking about Obamacare. Hartmann said that "healthcare is a right." Medved asked Hartmann to explain why he thought healthcare is a right. Hartmann didn't use the usual line - Hartmann claimed that healthcare is a right because the Declaration of Independence says "...that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." - and that the "right to life," according to Hartmann, means everyone has the right to healthcare. This interpretation of that famous line from the Declaration would of course boil down to everyone having the right to everything they need to live which includes, well, everything a person needs - and this idea would by necessity mean that the Declaration of Independence, following Thom Hartmann's logic, is actually a proclamation of socialist communism.

The Left will say and do anything, pervert and destroy anything, simply to get what they want.

I think I'll refer to liberals, regressives, communists, whatever... as Twisters (as in "word twisters").

I guess we shouldn't be incarcerating people, either, since that interferes with a person's right to "liberty and pursuit of happiness." Who knew?
