Muslim Call to Prayer From Capitol Hill

The MSM won't be low-balling attendance for this event:

islam-on-capitol-hill.jpg

From Islam on Capitol Hill:

The Athan [Muslim call to prayer] will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill.

They should stage their spectacle at the craters that still fester at Ground Zero like a pair of untreated wounds. It would be even more poignant.

I guess thats why Obama will be in Pittsburgh that day for the G-20 summit. He wants to be out of town in case it turns into the 50,000 suicide bomber march.

And Conservatives have done what to stop the Islamification of the USA?

I'm telling you, I hate you Great American Wimps more than Leftists.

You love the 2nd amendment but will never, ever use it.

You just constantly get run over and take it!

Thought this was not legal on federal property. So now it is only separation of Christianity and State?

Posted by: IOpian at September 15, 2009 10:29 AM

i get that you are all anti-islam (which is fine, those fuckers are bonkers) but you are still blissfully unrepentant that the christian right is just as bonkers.

If you want to mock and deride faith-based anything appearing in politics (and dont confuse the issue here - they think that they are 'doing god's work' just like you do), i applaud it; just make sure you include the christian crazies as well.

And in that perfect world, the jesus-based blue laws would disappear, I could even buy beer before noon on Sunday and not miss the kickoff. Ahh, what a wonderful world it would be.

Posted by: TonyD95B at September 15, 2009 10:34 AM

Everyone falls short of perfection in their faith, some more than others. The thing is, read the New Testament and the Koran. Violence and oppression are not a part of Christianity, whereas they are fundamental in Islam. So, those muslims who are not suicide bombers are the hypocrits, not the ones who are. Overall, as an atheist, I'd far rather hang around with the Christians, only very few of whom are actually nuts, than with the diaperheads who are directed to chop my head off as a nonbeliever. The religions are not equivalent.

read last sentence

"Washington, D.C. - On September 25th there will be a national prayer gathering of Muslims on the west front of the U.S. Capitol Building. They are expecting at least 50,000 to attend from mosques all across America. They will gather to pray from 4:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The gathering will take place by the site where U.S. Presidents have been inaugurated since 1981. The organizers say that it was Obama's inauguration speech in January and his speech broadcast from Egypt in June that gave them the idea for this prayer gathering on Capitol Hill."

Posted by: blue at September 15, 2009 11:21 AM

I'm not ready to poop on this, yet. If I see American flags, it might be a silent majority of moderate muslims coming out of the closet. I think muslim extremists fear and loathe a moderate muslim majority more than anything.

If Islam just disappeared, I wouldn't miss anything about it, but if it has to exist, we need the moderates on our side. I know the fundamental theology is whacked, but we can get along with the moderates.

I know a registered Republican muslim who drinks; I'll drink with him before I'll drink with a liberal. We actually have more in common.

The islamoncapitolhill.com site says "our time has come", which is distressing. I hope it means it's time for moderates to speak up for America. Let's hope.

Posted by: Alan at September 15, 2009 11:24 AM

I'll watch to see how that "hope" works out.

No doubt, BO's Ramadan celebration at the White House didn't do anything to damp enthusiasm for an Islamic cluster-F.

Sure, 25% of British Muslims support jihad the murder of apostates and the imposition of Sharia, the rape rate has shot up six fold in Sweden since their moonbat government decided to import hordes of tribal savages for no reason and there have been 10,000 terrorist attacks by Islamists since 9/11. The issue here is teh underpinnings of that decision-,aking. If you are allowed to say 'god told me to', then they can, too. If we are making stuff up to justify actions, their crazy is just as valid as your crazy.

Don't give me "but we are all peace-loving and they aren't..." Crusades, anyone? Inquisition? Burning 'witches'? Do I really need to string together all the stupid shit done in the name of your brand of 'magic-guy-in-the-sky-told-me-to'?

Every religion has the same essential fallacy - the idea that some magic force is guarding the light at the end of the tunnel. Believe it if you want, but that belief comes with consequences.

If you really, really think that is a reasonable way to live life, you can't get all pissy just because other crazy people do the same thing and reach a different conclusion.

Just one more thing conservatives have done to f__k up America.

Refuter -

Can you read?

I was discussing the DECISION-MAKING PROCESS.

You believe a magic guy in the sky tells you things, so do they.

If you get to say it, they get to say it. Either there is a talking snake in a tree, or there isn't. Either a magic sky-man told christians to burn witches and kill doctors, or it didn't. But if you want to go with 'yes, it was magic-sky-man', then they also get to make stupid-ass decisions and say the same thing.

See how you need to stop pretending that religion is anything but the opiate of the masses and get with the secular world where we can actually fix problems?

You poor, misguided jacka## - I almost feel sorry for you, except for the fact that your blindness is due to your own dishonesty.

You have been asked repeatedly to come up with equivalent examples from Christianity to support your standard leftist "Moral Equivalency" argument.....and you can't do it. The clostest thing you can come up with is several hundred years old:

The Crusades - A series of wars fought against and in response to Muslim military and religious aggression, theft and conquest.

The Spanish Inquisition - After 800 years of Muslim rule, no wonder Spanish flavored "Christianity" sometimes morphed into the brutality of the Inquisition and Spanish colonialism.

"Witch Burning" - Belief in witches was actually a holdover from the pre-Christian pagan days. BTW, the Muslims still believe in them, and still burn them.

You Letterman-Loving Lobotomized Lying Loopy Loony Lemming-Like LowLife Leftist Losers want it both ways.....last week you were out here trolling up a storm about how, 'you Right Wingers aren't REAL Christians'....now this week we're back to the 'Christians are Eeeeevil' nonsense.

Posted by: Refuter of Liberal Vermin at September 15, 2009 2:26 PM

Neither of you were able to discuss intelligently the dichotomy between their decision-making process and yours... why is that? I did NOT use "So, we're back to the same old, "It's all the fault of America / Christianity / Conservative Talk Radio/ Hannity / Beck" argument your side is famous for." I stated, very plainly, that YOU MAKE DECISIONS THE SAME WAY. And you do. If you need to have magic on your team, they get it as well. That is about as simple a 5thought as I can muster ... if you need it dumbed down still further, you are outta luck.

Are you really, truly unaware that it is exactly the same?

If someone who was worshiping Odin, or Ba'al, or whatever was killing you in the name of their god, you would decry it immediately. And you certianly do with muslims... but then you DO THE EXACT SAME THING. "God told me to do it" is the preface to so many atrocoties throughout human history... do you really, truly not see how it is exactly the same no matter the brand?

Until you are capable of putting that together in your mind, there is really no point in pretending that you can hold up your end of an actual discussion.

The good news? You are a dying breed. Your kids will be secular humanists like all the rest of us.

Tee hee.

Discussing things with Anonymous is a complete waste of time. Nobody who talks about people beleieving in a "magic guy in the sky" has any interest in debate. They just want to sling mud and try to push buttons. Have horrible things been donme in the name of religion? Yes. Horrible things have also been down in the name of communism and other political systems. Some Atheists seem so so naive. They think if we just get rid of that religion stuff love will steer the stars and peace will guide the planet. That worked out real well in Stalinist Russia, didn't it?

I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. That is what transforms my life, If psychotherapy or meditation transforms your life-fine. I'd rather concentrate on what brings us together as people than what separates us. However, after being told on various religion boards that I should be put in a concentration camp because I am a Christian or that I should be run over but the Atheist didn't want to go to jail, I'm rather jaundiced about talking about religion with people who go on and on about my infantile and backward view of a "magic" being in the sky. Aside from the fact that I don't believe He's magic nor that He's in the sky.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at September 15, 2009 5:27 PM

An let me add that I have known a number of fine Atheists who were willing to find areas of commonality of interests with me. My sister is one. Those that come from the Hitchens, Dawkins school of Atheism-"You religious people are all a bunch of moronic, violent cretins and we are so much better than you" aren't among them.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at September 15, 2009 5:34 PM

Condescension is the opiate of the Marxists.

At least we have progressives 'honest' enough to admit that their agenda consists of killing off God so they can achieve real progress. Of course, no progress was made in 1900 years until true "progress" was nearly realized under Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao... . Yeah! Gotta take God out of the picture so we can get some more of that good, enlightened progress.

2000 years of Christianity. No progress.
233 years since America's Creed. No progress.
We ignorant conservatives really should try to wrap our weak minds around this seductive thing called leftist intelligence.

Well I'm not saying I agree to this Muslim prayer time, but remember our government let them into our country and granted them citizenship. Hopefully they consider themselves Americans and would do anything for our country. Let us not be quick to judge. Remember Christians "He who is among you without sin, let him cast the first stone." I don't think that this should be a Muslim day of prayer, but a day of prayer with ALL religions.

"More and more fail - if you want an instance of current christian terrorism, the doc Tiller was killed by a christian who thought he was doing god's work."
We all as conservatives condemned the shooting and recognized the shooter as a crazed fanatic whose heart is far from God, a true Christian would not do something like that (The fact that he killed Tiller in church further shows that the shooter was a man with little if any respect for the sanctity of the church and the faith as a whole).
btw, just a few days ago, in Flint, MI, an anti- abortion protestor outside a high school was shot dead by a secularist simply because he (The secularist) was offended by the pro- lifer's sign. Where's your outrage over that? How's about the Denver church shooting less than two years ago, when a gay atheist killed four people at a church and missions center before being wounded by a security guard and killing himself? Liberals at places like DU were showing a lot more sympathy towards the killer than towards his victims.
btw, since you like dragging up histories of Christian violence from long ago, how's about we look at all the butchery and campaigns of genocide against Christians done over the last century alone in secular Communist nations? In the Soviet Union alone, over 10 million Christians were executed for refusing to convert to atheism, and that's not even counting all those who were merely imprisoned and tortured for the same reason and survived. Where's your outrage over that?
"The good news? You are a dying breed. Your kids will be secular humanists like all the rest of us."
No, they won't. News flash: We as Christians are the majority, albeit a silent majority, and we will raise our children to follow in the noble and true Christian faith. I myself am an aspiring pastor who hopes to work with youths, to provide them with the excellent moral and spiritual guidance that I myself received from youth group environments as a teenager, so they can be saved from falling into the clutches of the secular world and strive to live lives of meaning and impact for God and mankind, as I am trying to do now.
However, FenelonSpoke is right: While I have no probem debating with atheists who are polite and respectful about it, I refuse to waste my time debating with those as rude, disrespectful, closed- minded, and bigoted as you.

islam--the religion of peace will kill you if you leave the religion of peace

-Prophet Mohammed married Aisha when she was only 6 years old and he was 57 Years old--go figure

-Prophet Mohammed sent out his goons to kill the women that critique him. His followers tore her from limb to limb while she was breast-feeding her baby. the came to mohammed and shouted allah akbar
Mohammed upon hearing the news said: no two goats will lock horns over her. This is the man muslims hold to their highest moral standard

also, I forgot, mohammed slept with is adapted son's wife (INCEST)

please just open the koran and see if one word I say is a lie. All you have to do is open the Koran or go to these sites:

www.theThirdJihad.com **************
www.FaithFreedom.org
www.TheReligionOfPeace.com

The West will never understand Islam, because muslims themselves dont understand their religion how will the west. Look into the writing and videos and thier Imam's look of total lack of knowledge.

Posted by: Iqubal at September 18, 2009 1:13 PM

So the 'freedom of religion' that is part of the reason America exists so successfully is just a myth? Some of you posters sound like the 'Christian' - I use the term loosely - version of the Taliban. Muslims living in America - many of them Americans - want to hold a prayer event. Isn't that what our freedoms are all about? Are you so insecure in your beliefs that a prayer event by people of another religion shouldn't happen because it will threaten your beliefs? Did you read some of those signs in Washington at that rally the other weekend? I understand many of those people were very proud to be 'Christian'. And they were allowed to carry those signs and scream and shout insults and spout nonsense if they wanted to. That's freedom. So, if Jews or Buddhists or Catholics (in southern Baptist country I frequently hear that Catholics aren't 'Christians), or Mormons or Hindus want to hold a prayer event in America you'll find lots of terrible things to say about them and denigrate their beliefs? Some of you sound positively medieval.

Religious freedom IS for all but I think what most of us Christians find fault with is the fact that Muslims are allowed to gather on federal property for their day of "prayer" while Christians are not allowed to gather within a country mile of federal property to pray. When we do, the seculars start screaming, "Separation of church and state! Separation of church and state!"

I say if someone wants to believe in the god of popcorn & peanuts, it is his/her right. No matter how much I may disagree with what another believes, ranting and raving changes nothing. We Christians should pray for those whose beliefs we do not hold. We should even pray for anonymous, for he is a sad, bitter, misguided person. Just to set the record straight, anonymous, Christians and Muslims do not worship the same God. If you ever accept the God whom Christians worship, you'll instantaneously understand the difference. I pray, for your sake, that you do....
