While it is true the problems have existed since the time Moses led his people to the land of Canaan, later to be harassed by the Phillistines, the modern-day problems didn't arise until the religion of satan was established by his prophet Muhamed. You're talking around 400 AD.

I actually would be generous enough to bring the starting point all the way up to 1948, the year Israel was re-established. There was relative peace in the region between 70 AD and 1948 AD, the period of time covered by the Diaspora, during which Israel didn't exist as a physical nation.

That being said, I have a hard time buying into the arguments that Arab states care anything at all about the plight of the Palestinians, beyond using them as a political football.

Three generations is still a long time to nurse some political grievance; it's more than enough time to come up with a lasting settlement. Time and again Israel's two-state proposals have been rejected; they weren't interested in the ones offered to them in 1948, 2000, or anywhere in-between.

And if the Arab world were genuinely interested in resolving this, they would have established a state for them when Jordan and Egypt controlled Gaza and the West Bank during 1948-1967. Or would take them in today.

As it is, Egypt and Jordan aren't interested in thousands of "refugees" pouring into their territory, even though the Palestinians are ethnically and culturally indistinguishable from either. And really, who can blame them? Nonetheless, these simple observations kind of refute any notion that the rest of the Arab world cares a whit about its displaced brethren.
