Inspector Clouseau Meets the Fed

Dateline 5 May 2009: At a Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) asks some simple questions for Federal Reserve Inspector General Elizabeth Coleman: what about that "one trillion dollars plus in expansion of the Federal Reserve's balance sheet since last September [2008)], have you conducted any investigations regarding that?" It doesn't seem a "gotcha" question, especially given the high profile of those various bail-outs. "Show me the money" - pretty reasonable.

The pathetic truth is that IG Coleman has no.freaking.idea. She has no idea who received the money, who is investigating who received the money, … despite the fact that SHE is THE Inspector General of the Fed.

The 5-minute video is a testament to the cluelessness that infuses government generally and especially the Obama Administration. Don't you see: the money in our government coffers isn't the people's, it's the government's. So, why bother minding it? Why bother accounting for a possible $9 trillion off-balance-sheet Fed credit transactions in an economy such as ours, "'the worst since the Great Depression"?

With bumbling inspectors like Coleman at the Fed, what investor, what foreign government, could possibly feel confident in anything backed by "the full faith and credit of the United States of America"?

Those two in background, especially the chick, look like disemboweled, demoralized colleagues of hers. Searching for a rabbit hole.

Does this twit Coleman still have a job?

And here you are subtlety protesting the behavior of the Globalist J Bankers.

The hypocrisy of this site is amazing.

Another insult to democracy! (Video)

Anonymouse, you simply have no clue, that's what's so amazing.

Don't think that we were there cheering on those idiot banks like Lehmann, as they (urged on by Bill Clinton, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd; and threatened by ACORN) made more and more sub-prime loans... that got them in the mess that resulted in a broad financial melt-down.

So, scurry along anonymouse, leave more droppings on another conservative site please.

Everything that the Obama administration touches turns to crap. Yet the MSM reports nothing. And his followers remain. Amazing.

The US has now become a junkie nation, depending on foreign oil and foreign infusion of money.

You might like to know that the Acme Blog Scanner ($12.50 - beta version) reads the blogs in advance of yourself and won't display them if 1 & 2 are the themes. Very useful for busy people. I believe it builds on the technology of the Acme Crowd Reducing Spectacles.

That congresscritter asking the questions is a D! He looks like Elaine's boyfriend from Seinfeld, but sounds like his head's screwed on straight. Might be one of the ones to keep?

Anon @ 8:29pm. I'm no hypocrite. I'm an equal opportunity hater.

I hold both sides equally accountable for this mess. Dems and Repubs both have blood on their hands.

I'm thrilled that Grayson from Florida is spearheading this effort to audit the fed. The Fed is a privately owned banking cartel that should be abolished, NOW.

Obama could be pink and I'd still be upset at his policies. I didn't like George Bush either and I publicly denounced many of his actions.

Most of these politicians we have in office now are sociopaths and pathological liars. They need to be ousted out.

The majority of them are the devil walking in human form.

Re-elect no one.
