If Only Roman Polanski Were a Catholic Priest
The elite Hollywood left and the elite Euro-left are still rushing to defend rapist pedophile Roman Polanski.
Washed up Hollywood actress Debra Winger speaks for most of the Hollywood elite when she calls those who want Polanski to face justice "Philistines." (I wonder who helped her look up that word.) Dippie leftist Whoopi Goldberg doesn't think drugging and sodomizing a thirteen year old girl really counts as rape. (I suggest that if any of you have a middle-school dance in need of a chaperone, you probably shouldn't ask Whoopi Goldberg.)
As for the Euro-Elites, the French Foreign Minister and Culture Minister were appalled at the desire to prosecute this child rapist, "A scary America that has just shown its face," said the snots. Time Magazine quotes an American ex-pat living in Paris, who vividly illustrated the attitude that led so many of our ancestors to flee the cesspool of Europe.
The French view Polanski as an artist and celebrity and feel he deserves a different kind of treatment than ordinary people, which just isn't an option in the U.S.," says Ted Stanger, an author and longtime resident of France who has written extensively on the differing public views and attitudes across the Atlantic.
Too bad we Americans have this quaint idea that it's not okay for a forty-four year old man to drug and sodomize a thirteen year old girl, even if you are an "artist and celebrity."
To the left, elites are exempt from the rules of lesser mortals provided their politics are sufficiently "progressive." Ted Kennedy got drunk and killed a woman. Che Guevara was a mass murderer. Mumia Abu-Jamal is an unrepentant cop-killer. Bill Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist. All of these people are heroes to the left because they have been absolved by virtue of their politics.
The other reason is because there is sex involved. The left has a simplistic view of sex; it's always a good thing, and any inhibitions against sex are always bad things. The only time sex is a bad thing to the left is when a Christian or a Republican gets caught doing it.
Update: Woody Allen has signed a petition demanding release for Polanski. His wife-daughter hasn't, though.

I've directed a movie, can I rape Debra Winger's underage daughter now?
Posted by: Anonymous at September 29, 2009 9:11 AM
What do you expect from the people who brought you the Marquis de Sade?
Posted by: Judith M. at September 29, 2009 9:22 AM
And may I have the privilege of driving Debra Winger over a bridge in Massachusetts?
Posted by: Fuzzlenutter at September 29, 2009 9:26 AM
Well, you guys support Israel which is just as bad.
Why aren't there ever any documentaries on TV about the millions of people murdered by the Jewish Bolsheviks?
Plenty about Hitler though.
Strange isn't it?
Posted by: Anonymous at September 29, 2009 9:45 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! what kind of sick joke is that? When the Jews left the REAL Bolsheviks for fear of their life, where did they go, Cuba?
You are one sorry dumb ass.

Polanski was already convicted. He just needs his jail time set. Hopefully to a very long time since he ran away from the court. It is sick seeing hollywood types fawning over this piece of human garbage.
Posted by: Stephana at September 29, 2009 9:53 AM
Only one way for Polanski to get justice: spread a rumor that he's a Republican.
Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 29, 2009 10:23 AM
I will happily say I'm on the left and I say, toss him in the clink. The only question I have is, how come it took so long to grab him, didn't the Swiss have an opportunity before now?
Posted by: Lao at September 29, 2009 10:25 AM
Behold upthread the cognitive disorder that is liberalism.
Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 29, 2009 10:26 AM
We can complain about the above Hollywood
miscreants until were cyanotic but nothing will
change their behavior until we the enraged
hit them squarely in the pocketbook. Don't
watch anything they produce. If they are on tv switch the channel. Start looking closely at the educational curiculum vitae of your children's
school. Get involved.

Come on Lao we're talking about the swiss.

Only problem is, Polanski's victim wants the case dropped.
Posted by: Anonymous at September 29, 2009 10:52 AM
If Polanski were a Catholic priest, he'd be raping underage BOYS, and at a much more rapid pace, disphits.
Posted by: Anonymous at September 29, 2009 10:53 AM
Thanks, anon, for highlighting that the priest abuse problem was all about ephebophilic faggotry. A lot of people suffer from the delusion that it was a problem of pedophilia. Clearly that isn't the case given the super abundance of post pubescent male victims.
Posted by: Judith M. at September 29, 2009 11:02 AM
It doesn't matter what the victim wants right now. Polanski has already pleaded guilty. He skied out before he got to do the rest of his time.
Posted by: Stephana at September 29, 2009 11:03 AM
I vote Polanski gets the same sentence that will come down for Phillip Garrido.
Posted by: Eric at September 29, 2009 11:04 AM
Saw a picture of some liberal euroweenie holding a card reading FREE POLANSKI as stupid and rediculous as those jerks wanting the nororious LEONARD PELTER freed
Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at September 29, 2009 11:32 AM
"Only problem is, Polanski's victim wants the case dropped." What problem? Its Polanski vs the State of CA. He already pleaded guilty.
The victim has NO say in this matter.
Posted by: JamesJ at September 29, 2009 11:41 AM
people are asking why now???
the answer is simple - so Obama can pardon him...
Posted by: blue at September 29, 2009 11:42 AM
"If Only Roman Polanski Were a Catholic Priest"...
...This wouldn't get him in trouble at all. He could spend decades more molesting everyone who wandered by, without repercussions. Oh, and they would be the same sex, of course.
The fact that this is even news stands in stark contrast to the literally thousands of cases of priests molesting kids... which people don't even bother reporting anymore. "Another priest molested 4,317 kids? So...what's on the Discovery Channel?"
Seriously - which is worse? An institution designed to entertain and enlightemn people(hollywood) with an instance of misconduct, or an institution designed to delude and scam people, with thousands of instances of far worse abuse?
Those who rail against Hollywood as evil/corrup/morally bankrupt had BETTER not be religious... (but, of course, you are. Ahh intellectual inconsistency...)
Posted by: Whats In A Name? at September 29, 2009 11:54 AM
Statistically, a child is more than ten times more likely to be sexually assaulted by a public school employee than a member of the Roman Catholic clergy.
Posted by: V the K at September 29, 2009 11:58 AM
"What's in a Name?", you are deluded. There is no organization that has been scrutinized more over sex abuse than the Catholic Church. The public schools, OTOH, are another story altogether.

Heh! V the K beat me to it.
Posted by: Judith M. at September 29, 2009 12:02 PM
Personally, I find the topic of juvenile rape hilarious.
Posted by: David Letterman at September 29, 2009 12:13 PM
That update about Woody Allen signing a petition to have Polanski released is beyond parody. Of course, with MacKenzie Phillips recent revelations about her long term incestuous relationship with her real dad, Allen doesn't seem nearly as disgusting as he once did, so he's got that going for him...
Posted by: Judith M. at September 29, 2009 12:21 PM
Only problem is, Polanski's victim wants the case dropped.
Only problem is, it's not her call. She's irrelevant. She may be the victim, but the offended party is the state, whose laws were broken.
Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 29, 2009 12:24 PM
Why must you conservatives always be such prudes? Aren't you willing to try new things, say, with your own daughter?
Posted by: Meh at September 29, 2009 12:37 PM
Yeah, we're so intolerant. Enough with the smears. It's about time someone said something good about child rape.
Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 29, 2009 1:07 PM
UR: I went over this on another board, so let me do it here as well.
A crime is a crime because it offends the sensibilities of the community. In some countries, Polanski would have been given a pat on the back and the young woman would have been stoned to death. They just aren't interested.
In parts of this country, if you shoot a resident crackhead while he's trying to rob you or mug you, you will go to prison if you're not in a Free State. In Florida and Texas if you shoot a mugging crackhead in the act, you might get $5 from Crime Stop and warning for littering. In New Yawk, you can go to prison for shooting yourself fer chrissakes. Go figure.
Different communities, different standards. But there is not a community in this country that doesn't regard statutory rape as a crime against the serenity of the community. Doesn't matter what the victim thinks. Don't care. Not interested.
Lawyers know this better than I do. It hasn't been brought up because -- Well, the talking heads on TV really? Just aren't that bright.
I can understand a Lawyer retained by a defendant trying to get the best possible deal for his client. He or she has a duty to do so.
But the dirtbags on TV making noises about how the victim wants the charges dropped? They know better. They're just perpetuating another liberal lie.

Apparently, the whole story is being ... ummmm... ignored by the MSM. Imagine that.
"In an online poll in the French daily Le Figaro, more than 70% of nearly 29,500 respondents said Polanski should face justice for his alleged crimes."
Posted by: Miscreant at September 29, 2009 2:21 PM
Just because someone is "famous," doesn't mean they have any reason at all to be a source for morality. With some exceptions they have no clue. They are part of the moral fall of the U.S. Woody Allen is a creep.

Roman Polanski from a 1979 interview:
“If I had killed somebody, it wouldn’t have had so much appeal to the press, you see? But… f—ing, you see, and the young girls. Judges want to f— young girls. Juries want to f— young girls. Everyone wants to f— young girls!”

Hey, "Roman," convicts want to f--- old midget directors, and I applaud them for this. Why deny them their pleasure for the next 30 years?

And also statistically, A child under the age of 12 nowadays is 100 times more likely to be indoctrinated into the "Obama is the only true God" garbage philosophy....

Dippie leftist Whoopi Goldberg doesn't think drugging and sodomizing a thirteen year old girl really counts as rape. (I suggest that if any of you have a middle-school dance in need of a chaperone, you probably shouldn't ask Whoopi Goldberg.)
The article is titled "If Only Roman Polanski Were a Catholic Priest." I find the quote about Goldberg to be amusing, since one of her best-known roles is of her playing a (pretend) Catholic nun in two Hollywood blockbuster films. That would be "Sister Act" and its sequel, for those of you in Rio Linda, California.

The only time sex is a bad thing to the left is when a Christian or a Republican gets caught doing it.
Even then, it's not because the act itself was immoral, illegal, unethical, or inappropriate. Rather, it's held up as an example of what "hypocrites" we Jesus-freaked, Bible-bashing backwoods hicks we are all supposed to be.
It's not that the Left has standards; they just try to nail us to the wall every time they think we haven't lived up to our own. Never mind that when one of our guys is caught with his pants down, he's run out of town at the end of a sharp stick.
We don't celebrate and lionize deviant behavior like the liberals do. "Hypocrite" that, you hedonists.

On another blog today, I found an interesting quote.
It went, "What's the difference between invading a country and raping a thirteen year old girl? Simple - there aren't any thirteen year old girls who need raping."
Posted by: Cylar at September 30, 2009 12:14 AM
Just found that quote myself.
It kind of describes the entire Hollywood/European "elite" mindset, doesn't it?

Everyone wants to f— young girls!

A notable point has been missed in all of this. Finally the libs are being consistent. They like rapists. Polanski, Michael Jackson, Bill Clinton, Woody Allen, etc.
Posted by: Frank W at September 30, 2009 6:41 AM
I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm not saying this to be demeaning, but here's the truth -- Liberal elites are bright, articulate, well-educated people. But they know, for a fact, that the majority of people who follow them are just --
Stupid. I mean plain, old-fashioned, animal stupid.
Not all of them. Many are just 'get along-go along' types who know that the beliefs of the elites are somewhat smelly but they have other, ulterior motives that cause them to tolerate certain unethical attributes of their constituency in order to achieve whatever 'higher' goal it is they're trying to achieve.
And they know they can't get there without the help and, more importantly, the votes of the animal-stupid people that make up the majority of their party.
Been around as long as long as there's been politics.
