Eco-Terrorists Attack AM Transmission Towers

Obama's Radio Censorship Czar Mark Lloyd isn't the only progressive who has it in for AM radio. The cult of anti-civilization terrorist savages calling itself the Earth Liberation Front has taken to destroying radio transmission towers. Two were actually knocked down just north of Seattle, taking out much of the tower system of KRKO. It's expected to take three months to get everything working again. Fortunately, a backup transmitter site has allowed the station to stay on the air.

ELF explains its rationale:

AM radio waves cause adverse health effects including a higher rate of cancer, harm to wildlife, and that the signals have been interfering with home phone and intercom lines.

In other words, they are crazy as bats on acid.

Look for more of these attacks in the future, while the Injustice Department quietly squelches investigations in ELF, ALF, the Black Panthers, and similar sociopathic sects of the violent left. ELF brags of its use of "direct action" — a concept very familiar to Comrade Obama, who personally trained ACORN activists in its thuggish applications. Leftist goon squads destroying radio stations will augment the government's agenda nicely.

On tips from Air2air, TonyD95B, Jimbo, and BURNING HOT.

The issue is always suppression of free speech with these guys.

In other words, THEY were PERSONALLY inconvienced! Personal inconvience has been the driving motivation for a lot of Liberal/leftist protests. Durring the sixtys, the possibility of getting DRAFTED drove many "war protesters" to violence.

On the bright side, this will stimulate the ARMED GUARD job market!

Several years ago the ELF said they would burn this country down. Since then I haven't heard that name until now and CA has been on fire since...

AM radio is the grand dad of all radio uses and has been broadcasting at high power since early 20th century. If it caused problems we would know about it.

And there one little thing about AM towers that is notably different from TV, FM and cell towers that I hope these knuckleheads are unaware of. Maybe they will learn the "hard way" one of these nights.

Thing is Forest, they may be right. How else can we explain liberalism? There's clearly something in the water, air or maybe radio waves that fries their brains.

Their terrorists not heros they should be tracked down and hanged from a tree and let the buzzards pick them clean

@forest - well some night might prove to be a very "electrifying" experience for some ELF people.

Damn. We're coming close to when we're going to have to find out how these direct-action fans appreciate a little of their own medicine. It's coming, you know it is.

The only danger I can see in AM radio transmissions is that they are the primary carrier of talk radio. However, KRKO carries mostly sports http://www.northsound1380.com/listenlive/
It is KTTH that carries Rush LImbaugh and KVI carries Sean Hannity. For people who spend so much time in the forest, these Elves are barking up the wrong tree.

This has been sort of minor issue here in Seattle for a couple of years. When the station sought permission to build the tower there was a sort of grass roots moonbat deal to stop it. It was the usual crap with hand letter signs and a lot of long hair, birkenstock wearing, granny class glad, melodius voiced weirdos, but the have allies apparently. We have been the target of a number of environmental crazy attacks.

Never can tell when a rottweiler might be stationed around one of these towers who likes the taste of moonbat ...
