Comrade Obama Turns Attention to Children
Having given up on getting any adults to go along with government seizure of the healthcare sector, Chairman Zero plans to target children with a speech on September 8. Federal bureauweenies have disseminated a document instructing teachers on how to shoehorn Dear Leader's propaganda into young minds. Before the speech, students should be asked the following questions:
1. Who is the President of the United States?
2. What do you think it takes to be President?
3. To whom do you think the President is going to be speaking?
4. Why do you think he wants to speak to you?
5. What do you think he will say to you?
My answers probably don't match those in the back of the teacher's edition:
1. The world's most dangerous community activist.
2. Black ethnicity, name like a terrorist, ability to read a teleprompter.
3. His intellectual peers.
4. Children might be naive enough to believe him.
5. Parents are icky if they don't like socialized medicine.
The important part is after the speech, when teachers are tasked with driving Comrade Obama's message home. They are to "extend learning" by having students
• Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals.
• Write goals on colored index cards or precut designs to post around the classroom.
• Interview and share about their goals with one another to create a supportive community.
• Participate in School wide incentive programs or contests for students who achieve their goals.
• Write about the goals in a variety of genres, i.e. poems, songs, personal essays.
• Create artistic projects based on the themes of their goals.
• Graph student progress toward goals.
Somehow I doubt warning people that both our economy and our republic are in mortal danger from this Marxist would be regarded as a valid goal by government school apparatchiks. Here's an example of how kids who stray from the Obamunist fold are brought back into line:

My God, if that was my kid that monkey was scolding, for expressing her belief, I would have chewed her good the day after, right in front of her class. She should have lost her job the moment her sentence was done. DEFAMING the military? Saying her father will be there for a hundred years because of Mc Cain? Look what affirmative action is giving us. Corrupt blacks who have no competence or any form of business teaching kids. Mrs. Monkey probably has a "Hope" poster on the blackboard. I'm so angry about this, how can anyone lie to children so openly?

If that Congoid would have done that to MY kid - SWHTF and soon!
Now since their homey is elected - they are blatant about their hatred for white people and America.
This is what I don't understand. If you kill off all the producing Americans through Obama Care and unrestricted immigration, who's going to pay the bill for them to eat all dat shrimps?

I'd like to add something to your answer to question #5:
Parents are icky if they don't like socialized medicine. And if your mommy and daddy do not want to go along with the socialization of America , please give the White House their information. We have plenty of big, fat, ignorant SEIU goons...er..."representatives" to take care of them...er..."explain to them where they’re going wrong".

Janet, it is simple. The same answer for all the socialist regimes. Once the money from affluent and productive people has run out, you get massive unemployment, starvation and oppression. You do NOT create wealth out of thin air. It has to be earned at some point. After that, Obama's fantasy land becomes a dry well.

C-Bug, I got a better one. How many more radical policies needed before an open revolt? They need their civilian army since the real army is on our side (And guess why he keeps sending more in Afghanistan?)
Posted by: Jay B at September 2, 2009 10:00 AM
The post-speech part is the most chilling. What "goals" are they talking about? I think everyone here pays school/property taxes. My bill is due this month, for a hefty sum. We need to go get loud at the school board meetings. Whether we have schoolage children or not.
Posted by: Karin at September 2, 2009 10:07 AM
I love it. Overt racism, mispaced rage, and mountains out of molehills. Nothing like a delightful trip to the lunatic fringe to remind me why it is so important to support Obama - what if he thought people like you represented reality? We would all be doomed ot return to the Drak Ages (which is clearly when you all stopped learning anything new anyway...)
"Don't teach your kids that they could grow up to be President! What if one of those kids is BLACK!"
(You did get #3 right, though. He will indeed be speaking to those with the intellectual depth to 'listen to things', or even 'learn new things'... why am i am unsurprised to see that not one of you is capable of such things?)

This is the really creepy one. What they can do to help the president (lower case - appropriate)? Help the President to do...what? And "make students accountable to their goals?" WTF? How about making Obama and Congress accountable first, and worry about kids later?
Posted by: Jay Guevara at September 2, 2009 10:13 AM
AYPR, it's easy to scream racism at each critic of the president, after all, that is the defense blacks have been using for the past fifty years. Directly talking to children, taking over the private sector, making health care single payer, defaming doctors, police officers, intelligence agencies, that'd be dangerous from anyone. Coming from the mouth of the PRESIDENT of the US, this is very dangerous and simply treasonous. Show me a wise black guy who isn't hell bent on "social justice" and "giving back the wealth to those who deserve it" and I'll be happy to vote for him.
Posted by: Jay B at September 2, 2009 10:14 AM
Hah...my husband said he wouldn't mind if the kids played hooky that day. Can you imagine the uproar if Bush had tried to "speak directly" to the children during school and had a prepared activity packet for them to fill out? But the teachers' unions are in O's pocket, so I am not surprised.
The community organizer continues to organize. It's in his blood.

I will do my best to help you by turning in to State Security anyone and everyone I hear questioning your policies or judgment, so that they can be re-educated. Maybe they'll be in my social studies class, huh? How cool would that be?

Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams come to mind. Two of my favorite thinkers in America. Unfortunately neither of them are likely to run (both age and inclination probably apply...I know Sowell is past 70).

Besides, AYPR, using children to advance an agenda is the way of the low life rats. Soviets did it, the Chinese did and now Obama is doing it. You can bet your ass I'll ask my daughter to show me what they were presented with. That's your typical Obama way. Try to force your views on everyone, as often as possible, using everything and everyone. Hey, why not using children and college students? Why not promising them good grades and credits? What's the next step, assigning them to be vigilant and report what they hear from parents, siblings and neighbors? How many credits do you get for reporting dad and mom?
Posted by: Jay B at September 2, 2009 10:22 AM
I checked. My daughters' school is NOT participating in this. You might want to check first before you pull your kids out of school that day, just to see if the school is participating. No point in punishing a school that is doing the right thing.

So, I have a theory: since the conservative movement is decidedly biased in favor of those with little or no formal education, you are all getting hot and bothered here because... Obama wants your kids to learn! Oh, the tragedy!
I can see the appeal - as long as the next generation remains as ignorant as your generation, the GOP has hope for a base in the future! But somehow I think a principled stand against education is not gonna be a winner. Can't you already see the election-year commercials? "Senator )whoever) has taken a hard stand against education. He wants your kids dumb enough to believe the crap he is saying is true. But what does he believe? (Fades out with a long list of tin-foil-hat-and-footy-pajamas insanity that passes for the GOP platform these days)".
I therfore challenge all of you who wear the tinfoil hats to homeschool your kids. Make sure you tell them all about magic sky-father, and remind them that reality is not real, and certainly avoid teaching them to read anything that they are not already inculcated to belive; I would love to see the result of that in a few decades. Chuds and Morlocks, anyone?

"AYPR, it's easy to scream racism at each critic of the president" - This is not about valid criticism (of which there is very little to be found in these parts).
Did you miss the comments above mine?
"if that was my kid that monkey was scolding..."
"If that Congoid would have done that to MY kid..."
Do you really not see these statements as racist? [You cracker-ass hick?] (I bet you think that was racist...) Let's all take a deep breath and stop with the pointless vitriol. This is exactly what is wrong with the GOP these days. There are truly repugnant people out there, spouting truly awful things, and the more moderate republicans do nothing to disavow the insanity coming from their tent.
Man up and call out the racist, bigoted, powerfully ignorant people in your midst, and perhaps there can be some interesting discussion of actual issues...

So, I have a theory: since the conservative movement is decidedly biased in favor of those with little or no formal education, you are all getting hot and bothered here because... Obama wants your kids to learn! Oh, the tragedy!
He wants them to learn...so he takes time out of their day when they are typically...wait for it...learning. To do what, exactly? The bullet list in the initial post is devoid of any real learning. I can see how you'd disagree, though, when it's your side that typically fills the rosters of every useless liberal arts degree there is.
And that leads us to why your "theory" is flawed from the initial premise. We love higher learning; we'd just prefer that it actually be useful in real life. Degrees like a B.A. in Womyn's Studies does not fall into that category, no matter how much you'd like it to.
I love it though. Obama wants kids to learn so he's going interrupt their time of learning when they're sure to be a captive audience. War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Blah blah blah.

You can go on & on about racism & how doubleplus ungood it is, but we're all on line with what's in the Declaration: All men are CREATED equal. That's equal in the sight of the LAW, nothing else. That bitch up there is not my equal in any other way, and I don't mind calling her a monkey or many various other terms you'd be offended on her behalf about, and I don't care if you call me a racist because of it. That word has no power over me, and it's losing its power over others. You've wasted it.

Not terribly surprising that this was from Buncombe County. It would be interesting to see the reaction of the local media if a white teacher at a western Mecklenburg County school had done the same, but spoken in support/pointed out 'facts' to a black child. The fit would have hit the shan.
Posted by: Viking04 at September 2, 2009 1:31 PM
Talk about a lack a intellectual honesty. "In my class, everyone has a right to their opinion!" Lady, when a teacher forces kids to divulge who they support for President, essentially sneers at their choice of President, and praises those who pick the other candidate, that does not encourage an open and honest discussion. Does she really think kids are going to want to be singled out as dumb because they prefer McCain? And her BS about a kid's dad being in Iraq for 100 years! She should be fired for abuse.

Ow! The pwnage.
It's weird how the left has to constantly reassure themselves that *they're* the smart ones. Like aging and insecure starlets insisting on playing roles written for women half their age. "We're still big, it's the politics that got small."
Just asking, shouldn't really smart people be able to defend their ideas intellectually? Instead of just insults and name-calling against those that think differently. Personally, I'm capable of both.

I think I'll instruct my fifth grader to record the speech, and then I'll compare it to a transcript, just to make sure there are no 'changes', and use it as a teaching moment for my son.
We've already discussed the health care issue with him and earlier this summer used the stimu-less failure as a math lesson.
It's not what they learn in the classroom, people, but what they learn at home.
Maybe some enterprising teachers will use this Obamatron waste as a lesson in deconstructing propaganda?

So, I have a theory: since the conservative movement is decidedly biased in favor of those with little or no formal education, you are all getting hot and bothered here because... Obama wants your kids to learn! Oh, the tragedy!
Here are some of the critical thinking questions posed by the Department of Education:
What is the President trying to tell me?
What is the President asking me to do?
What new ideas and actions is the President asking me to think about?
What specific job is he asking me to do?
What do you think the President wants you to do?
Does the speech make you want to do anything?
Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?
Noticably absent from the list are any questions dealing with validity of his arguments; whether you agree or disagree (and why) with his proposals; on what evidence does he base his principles; what are the short-term and long-term consequences of his proposals. The questions from the Dept of Ed are a joke. You call this critical thinking but accuse us of having no formal education?
Also, since you love to play the But Bush game, what was your response to Bush's suggestion that we all go out and spend some money following 9/11? Using that scenario, answer the Dept of Ed's questions. Do you see much room for disagreement or explanation of alternative views? Not much. You'll also see that most of the questions are redundant and merely ask the student to repeat the same answer.
Oh, and meh, you probably better not hope that more of us decide to homeschool our children. Graduated homeschoolers vote and attend public meetings more often than the general population.

The Letterman Loving Lobotomized Lying Loopy Loony Lemming Like Leftie Losers have been promoting this stereotype of the gun-totin', bible-thumpin' racist unedumecated rednaaack violent right winger for years.
As I'm sure you know, they promote a similar stereotype of anyone that joins the military as being a 'loser with no options' or some such nonsense.
You and I are both examples of why this isn't true.
I had already earned two university degrees in Engineering and was well established in my career when I took a leave of absence and joined the Army. The money it cost me to go to five months of Military Police School at Fort McClellan runs in the tens of thousands of dollars. Most people get paid to serve - I actually PAID to serve...
I was happy to find that there were others like me - people who signed up and showed up because they cared about our country.
People who do such things are typically very highly motivated and goal-oriented - and are usually pretty intellegent.
My buddy Dave had joined the Army in high school, and did the split-option and went to Infantry School at FT. Benning. When he served in my ARNG unit a decade later, he was a Corporate Trust Officer for a major bank.
My ARNG unit consisted mainly of MPs that were state and county police officers during the week...which requires a college education in my part of the world.
Still, there is this persistent myth that the people who wear our country's uniform are a bunch of knuckleheads who couldn't do anything else, or (my favorite), 'joined the Army to stay out of jail', or look like the morons in the movie "Three Kings" or something. Nonsense.....but these stereotypes refuse to go away.
"...gun-totin', bible-thumpin' racist unedumecated rednaaack violent right wingers"?
Yep.....let the Lefties keep deluding themselves.....they'll neeeeever see us a'comin'....

That is just f-ing creepy.
Since when are teachers allowed to so blatantly force Democratic partisanship down the throats of schoolchildren?
Although, since children tend to resent anything forced on them while young, hopefully when the tykes are old enough to start forming their own views many will reject their teachers' moronic subversion.
