I smell a fat lawsuit for violating this guys free speech........stick it to em and kick the handle off.

Protest depends on free speech and has been used accordingly by black activist-community organizers (as a way of life in some cases).

Not so much when the protest goes the other way.

This guy has no authority to arrest and to threaten arrest is impersonating an officer of the law, a class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia.
Class 1 is punishable up to 12 months imprisonment and $2500 fine.
If he actually arrested someone and held them against their will it is felony abduction.

In the case of Skippy Gates, a racist professor with a chip on his shoulder through a hissy-fit in response to a reasonable request from a cop who was trying to protect the racist professor's home from a reported intruder.

Here, we have an arrogant cop attempting to censor the peaceful speech of one protester (out of many), taking part in a legal demonstration on public property.

Maybe Goatse and the rest of his cell don't see, or pretend not to see, the difference, but there is a difference.

The guy who claims that free speech on school property is not protected is confused. The Supreme Court has ruled that student speech on school property is subject to limitations based on the need to maintain order and discipline. Claiming that a public meeting on school property falls under the same rubric is just an excuse to deny the patriot his free speech. I smell a lawsuit. I hope Fairfax County gets it good and hard.

Nunya: you better see something wrong with this. Almost every cop in the nation (of which I have been for over 3 decades) has a problem with it. It was a public meeting and people have a right to freedom of speech and expression. There was no tumultuous behavior involved and a police officer can't protect speech with which he agrees at the expense of speech with which he does not. He committed a felony in my state. Picture yourself behind the sign for whatever reason and how you would want your local law enforcement official to react to you. We're supposed to be professionals, "a-political", and fair. This officer's actions were an embarrassment to the rest of us.
