Patriots Welcome Comrade Obama to Phoenix

Chairman Zero is in the Valley of the Sun today to exploit veterans at one of his phony dog and pony shows. Moonbattery staff photographer Varla recorded his welcoming committee for posterity.

Patriots gathered at Tom's Tavern at the corner of Washington and 1st Ave to hear from the great J.D. Hayworth and Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ), among others. It was far too crowded to get inside, but those who were too busy blogging to show up early could listen thanks to speakers out on the sidewalk.

Contributor Troy was on hand with original artwork Moonbattery readers have seen before:

My own sign was less creative:

After awhile, some of the patriots headed over to the Phoenix Convention Center, where the spectacle was to be staged. Bused in union thugs and Obamamites yelled mindless slogans from across the intersection. The moonbats are learning; organizers were reportedly giving out hand-made placards, in contrast to the printed-by-the-thousand identical signs that usually make their astroturfing so obvious. But the only signs worth photographing were on the patriot corner.

Aside from the mob boss, the crowd seemed pretty innocuous for an angry mob. But no doubt any media that covers it will turn the gathering into an orgy of bloodthirsty fiends.

Wonderful. Incorrect data, parading as lunatic-fringe propaganda. Is the current government plan to kill off the old people? No... of course not. (Not to mention the fact that the existing private insurance companies have limits on care for anyone and everyone, young or old... all this crap about the government telling you how to die when is completely factually inaccurate). You are spreading lies. Either deliberately, or because you fell for the propaganda from the lunatic fringe... but come on. It isnt true. and more than that you KNOW it isnt true. you are just muckraking.

Are you not ashamed of the way you are exposing the ignorance and fearfulness of the sheeple that really dont know this is all garbage?

Posted by: StupidShouldHurt at August 17, 2009 1:58 PM

You must reaaaaaally be hurting you're so stupid.

No one has claimed they ARE doing it, but it's clear they WANT to do it, hence all the protests.

Gawd, you are REALLY stupid.

Posted by: Anonymous at August 17, 2009 2:07 PM

Hmm, those are some printed signs there, similar to the ones you complained about earlier today. Make up your mind Helsing! Who made the "mob boss" one? Dick Armey?

stupidshouldhurt, you are spot on. "Not to mention the fact that the existing private insurance companies have limits on care for anyone and everyone, young or old... all this crap about the government telling you how to die when is completely factually inaccurate"

Their argument makes about as much sense as "hands off my medicare".

Hi:

Just wanted to let you know I received my stimulus package yesterday.

It contained watermelon seeds, cornbread mix, and 10 coupons to KFC. The directions were in Spanish.

Posted by: TED at August 17, 2009 2:29 PM

Hmm My limits run into the millions. If I were to exceed that I'd think they have a point. The problem we have with it is the government reducing "costs" by rationing expenditures, rather than addressing the real problems, such as tort costs and the preemptive testing etc that goes on because of them.

Example: Illinois has a severe shortage of obstetricians. Why? Because Illinois enacted a law that places responsibility for any defect in a child up to the age of 18 on the obstetrician that delivered the child. A lot of things can go wrong in 18 years, but they're not necessarily the fault of the obstetrician. Anyone stupid enough to want to be an obstetrician in IL has to pay out in insurance against this. This is an example of the involvement of government in the healthcare system which has damaged things. This is the problem, government intervention, not the market.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at August 17, 2009 2:35 PM

"No one has claimed they ARE doing it, but it's clear they WANT to do it, hence all the protests"

So you are now the Arbiter of Intentions? How do you get that job? (Does it involve being uninformed, while at the same time being willing to be uninformed LOUDLY? I'm thinking it does...)

If you actually think that the government is planning to kill your relatives - YOU ARE DUMB.

If you are truly unaware that current PRIVATE insurance has coverage limits for all people they cover, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or any other demographic - YOU ARE DUMB.

If you really, honestly think that there is a viable comparison between Obama's healthcare initiative and the facist death of millions during WWII - YOU ARE SO DUMB IT MAKES THE ANGELS WEEP.

"It is better to be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Wow Ted, didn't relize that even here on the lunatic fringe people were willing to be so overtly racist - are the rest of the right-wing people on this site not embarrassed to be on the same team as that asshole? Honestly... people like me will never return to voting repub as long as people like Ted feel at home there.

Not all republicans are horrible people, but all horrible people appear to be republicans...

The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here. ... There is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that’s part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It’s not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that’s part of what I suspect you’ll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.
- Barack Hussein Obama, New York Times April 14, 2009.

So, will Goatse Wellstoned (baby-killer) and Painfully Stupid be denouncing their Dear Leader for crazy talk about death panels, and the government denying care to those not worth saving?

Posted by: V the K at August 17, 2009 2:49 PM

VtK - Are you really that dumb, or just playing for the even-dumber members of this flock?

That (end of life care) is a reasonable conversation to have. At some point it must be addressed. And if we could all act like grownups, we can reach a reasonable conclusion based on sound scientific data, as well as compassion. It is when you deliberately misconstrue these statements as an attempt by the government to kill people off wholesale that the discourse is derailed and no progress can be made. Notice where it says "death panel"? I didn't think so.. it is actually quite reasonable to have a governing body with whom people can speak when questions arise. I HATE STUPID PEOPLE!

Do you think that there is no way to find an acceptable solution? Are you short-sighted and brute-ignorant enough to be honestly convinced that there is no way to make this work? (I am tempted to throw in a diatribe about how retarded we would all have to be to listen to people who actually believe in magic when discussing things like healthcare... but I will let that rest for the moment)

...or are you just fox-and-the-sour-grapes pissy because America is moving on without you and the rest of the flat-earth-society? All of this obstructionist-willfully-ignorant propaganda from the far-right comes off as "I don't like black people, hispanic people, gay people, or educated people... so whatever they like, I don't. Even if they are trying to help every American, I hate them. And no matter what they say, I refuse to listen. I just hate. Everything".

Posted by: "Meh" at August 17, 2009 3:12 PM

Not to worry, I am sure Obama and team will have our backs just as he had his constituents as a senator in Chicago. Just trust him, after all what have you got to lose?

Wait - is watermelon a code for racism? What about Sunflower seeds? I like KFC's grilled chicken (yum!) and oh yeah, I LOVE corn bread w/ honey butter - it's my fav crispy fried and day old yummers!

So wait - just to be clear, any reference to watermelon, cornbread and chicken is racist? Cuz I'm from the south and may have to completely change my diet....

What about Taco's - I LOVE Cheese Steak burritos...is that racist too? I just wanna be clear when the "raaaaaaaaaacist" cries come so I can say YET AGAIN that mentioning any type of food group may or may not imply racism, depending who you are speaking with.... *sigh*

Next time you need to use a little more "stupidly" to round out your argument. Expand your horizons a little. Hopefully soon (not) under dumbocare your proctologist will perform an mri to see if you liberals have shit for brains, you dumb dumbs.

Posted by: funkendunkel at August 17, 2009 3:28 PM

LOL. First the leftards whine and say "You made up all that insane stuff about Death Panels," and when it's revealed their Dear Leader proposed the idea, they switch to, "Death Panels are a great idea, we have to ration resources somehow."

And then they call you a racist.

It is impossible to caricature the left.

As it happens, there is a perfectly rational way to allocate scarce resources in terms of end-of-life care. It's called, if you can't afford it, you don't get it. Harsh, yes, but much preferable to politicizing the decision of who lives and who dies.

Posted by: V the K at August 17, 2009 3:29 PM

You are right about the coverage. All they want to cover is the black guy with the assault rifle over his shoulder.

Posted by: Justin at August 17, 2009 3:43 PM

V, you are ass. Hey look Palin said "death panels", let's use that one! Has you or your parents had the health care directive talk with your doctors ?If so, was it covered under your insurance ? In most cases it is currently now. Susan Collins, Johnny Isakson and others feel it should be.
Further, nice how you wish to harp on about families that have gone through the anguish of abortion. Oddly, I would assume most neo-cons would love "death panels" under Republican leadership. You could rid yourselves of liberals, Muslims, immigrants, the poor etc.

You can speculate all you want V the Kitten, there are no "death panels"! If you wish to find some, call your insurance company and ask how many people died because care was denied for a curable ailment?

"It's called, if you can't afford it, you don't get it" really? That's what we have now half-wit! Even Senator Assley retracted his statement on "death panels", because it doesn't exist.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at August 17, 2009 3:46 PM

I see that Obama's paid responders, and imposters, are in attendance today.

Posted by: democratsarefascists at August 17, 2009 3:51 PM

As stated previously, the use of the phrase "Death Panels," was hyperbolic, but not nearly so much as Democrats calling those opposed to including them in ObamaCare "Nazis" or "political terrorists." Similar exaggerations ... such as "56 million uninsured" and outright lies have dominated Obamacrat rhetoric on the issue. For them to be whining now about the right engaging in a bit of hyperbole is precious.

There is absolutely no reason to involve the Government in end-of-life discussions. The only reason they were in the bill was to cut costs, and the only they worked to cut costs was to talk people out of undergoing expensive treatments and "just take the pain pill" as Dear Leader put it. That being the case, there is far more truth in Palin's characterization of them then there is in the dishonest rhetoric coming from the left about ObamaCare and its opponents.

Posted by: V the K at August 17, 2009 3:55 PM

You can speculate all you want V the Kitten, there are no "death panels"!
Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at August 17, 2009 3:46 PM

for once you're right, they removed them after palin raised hell about it ;P

Posted by: weewilly at August 17, 2009 3:56 PM

And the left squandered epic amounts of credibility denying that the purpose of the Death Panels was to ration care... when anyone with a functioning brain could tell there was no other point to having them.

Posted by: V the K at August 17, 2009 4:07 PM

They have a profound misunderstanding of numbers.

If 80% of medical costs are incurred in the last 6 months of life then, the only logical way to curb costs is to take a significant chunk out of this group.

... and the only way to do this is to either curb quality, force down costs (hurting doctors, hospitals, insurance companies, R&D), or limit care (ration), or reject some care straight-up.

Thanks liberals.

I swear, you can look at nearly any "liberal" policy and find another "liberal" policty that directly contradicts the first.

Examples:
No war, but content with killing babies.
Save the rainforests/animals, but content with killing babies.
Want diversity, but force out competition.
Increased schooling, cut back on higher education spending.
Want to create jobs, increase taxes across-the-board.
Love unions, ridicule legitimate protesters.
Claim they want bipartisanship, shun Republicans.
Say "naughty naughty profiting big corporations", they have THE MOST lobbyists/funding from big corps.
Lower dependence on foreign oil, ban drilling here.
Want energy independence (clean energy), crush nuclear and nat. gas plans.
Save the animals, tax animal owners.

More proof that liberalism is a mental disorder, curable only by death.

Am2theC... there's some others...

Claim to support free speech, but want the government to censor talk radio.

Claim to respect minorities, but lower standards for them because they can't compete otherwise.

Claim to support gays, ridicule them mercilessly.

Attack the Culture of Corruption, but defend corrupt members of their own party and appoint a tax cheat as Treasury Secretary.

Claim paying taxes is patriotic, but cheat on their own.

Claim to care about others, but contribute far less to the needy than conservatives.

Hypocrisy and selfishness are the twin pillars of Progressive politics.

No, that's not at all reasonable, except to someone of questionable intelligence and an unhealthy trust of authority.

What is reasonable, however, is to expect that as people age they take it upon themselves to prepare for the things that come with aging.

Regardless, and irrespective of whether people act reasonably or not, it's not a subject that necessitates government involvment, whether through legislation, "governing bodies," or any other tool you could imagine. In fact, the matter is so entirely private that you'd be hard-pressed to find another, better example of an area where the government should be leashed and kept.the.hell.out.

You lefties, while demonstrating the ability to form thoughts, are frighteningly stupid.

VtK,

You got where I was going with that. EVERY SINGLE POLICY they have has an immediate contradictory POLICY.

This way, they can talk out of their ass and mouth at the same time and always be "right," regardless of what stance they take. It's a flawless system that enables them to kill babies and then claim that they love children. Lemmings buy it up because they are, well, braindead to say the least.

Doublethink - the power to hold two completely contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accept both of them.

"Death panels" is an appropriate name. Yes, the insurance companies ration care. But you haven't seen rationed care until the government pays for it. One only need look at how the countries who have it have cut back on care tremendiously over the last several years. As a British subject who became an American citizen, I can tell you that all the horror stories you hear don't tell the half of how bad the National Health Service rationing really is in England. People who have grown up with it don't know any better. Those who remember before it was instigated do, and they lament allowing it to ever happen. Let's not let this same travesty happen here in the USA.

Just want to dispel the often-repeated myth that insurance companies ration health care.

They do not.

You get the level of coverage paid for. You can pay for more. You can pay for less. You can buy supplemental. You can buy catastrophic. You can buy complete drug coverage down to Bayer Aspirin if you wish.

Or not.

Posted by: MjM at August 17, 2009 9:00 PM

MjM -
Therein lies the problem according to silly liberals. They want to average everything to lowest common denominator and make everyone's care an equal shade of shit. (Except for them, of course - they are more equal than others.)

Posted by: Jimbo at August 17, 2009 9:42 PM

The left has been crowing proudly for years about the fact that they couldn't wait to pull the plug on Terry Schaivo. Why is it so hard to believe they would have any more problem pulling the plug on grandma?

Obama himself not only voted to let babies who survived abortions die, but argued vociferously in favor of it. If he has no compassion for newborn babies, why would we expect him to care about old people and the chronically ill?

Also, the left looks at 300,000 murdered under Saddam Hussein, 3,000,000 dead under Pol Pot, 20,000,000 dead under Stalin, and upwards of 100,000,000 dead under Mao and doesn't bat an eye. They make a hero out of mass murderer Che Guevara. Is it really so tough to believe they would have any problem with killing off old white people to build their socialist utopia?
