You sad little men and women...First is was liberalism...nope that didn't work, then socialism..nope that didn't work, then communism...nope that didn't work, then fascism...

"[Fascism is] a genuinely revolutionary, trans-class form of anti-liberal, and in the last analysis, anti-conservative nationalism. As such it is an ideology deeply bound up with modernization and modernity, one which has assumed a considerable variety of external forms to adapt itself to the particular historical and national context in which it appears, and has drawn a wide range of cultural and intellectual currents, both left and right, anti-modern and pro-modern, to articulate itself as a body of ideas, slogans, and doctrine. In the inter-war period it manifested itself primarily in the form of an elite-led "armed party" which attempted, mostly unsuccessfully, to generate a populist mass movement through a liturgical style of politics and a programme of radical policies which promised to overcome a threat posed by international socialism, to end the degeneration affecting the nation under liberalism, and to bring about a radical renewal of its social, political and cultural life as part of what was widely imagined to be the new era being inaugurated in Western civilization. The core mobilizing myth of fascism which conditions its ideology, propaganda, style of politics and actions is the vision of the nation's imminent rebirth from decadence"

World's Largest Bead Mosaic Honors Obamadinejad.

"It took 1,000 fourth-graders and 372,000 beads to create what is being hailed as the world's largest bead mosaic. Children from around the United States chipped in to make the enormous artwork (too large to be shipped in one piece), which was started in Florida a few weeks ago.

Swedish bead manufacturer Munkplast organized the schoolchildren (from all 50 states) to build the mosaic, which is 9 feet tall and 11.5 feet wide."

He has mobilized the brainwashed youth to create masterpieces to HIM and all of his greatness. Indoctrination at its finest.

Liberals are not conserned about all the "starving people in the world", it would seem. As I pointed out before, Stalin took food from Russia's people in order to make it seem like food exports were up under communism. Liberals are carrying on his tradition of screwing over "the masses".

You KKKonservative MEANIES!

Don't you know that the real definition of fascism is:

an instinctual religious impulse – usually gussied-up as a secular or modern ideology – that seeks to impose uniformity in thought and action throughout the entire society. All oars in a fascistic society must pull together. The personal is political because everything goes together. Political correctness is one name we give to such efforts in civil society.

Oh wait a minute, never mind.

Heidi, you left out "Marxist" and "progressive." (Yes, we're onto that one.) All synonyms for the pre-eminence of the state over the individual, i.e., Reds of various stripes. It's like arguing over whether you're a Stalinist, Trotskyite, Bukharinite, Maoist, or Castroite. The answer doesn't matter. They – and you – are all enemies of America in any case. ("That's what they said about Julius Rosenberg!" And they were right, too. His KGB codename: "Liberal." Says it all.)

You are on the wrong side of history. Read Marx, and it will become obvious a) why it hasn't worked anywhere, and b) why it will never work anywhere, ever. Adopt socialism, and await the fate of the USSR. What you're seeing in the US is the last gasp of socialism. Come 2012, no one – not even you – will admit to ever having subscribed to it.

Posted by: AmericanToTheCore at August 9, 2009 7:25 PM

I'm gonna have to concur with Jay G on this one.

It doesn't matter what label is put on it.

The goal of the leftist has, always and everywhere, been the primacy of the state over the individual, and the accumulation of power and control by a bureaucratic elite, to wield over a passive, stupid peasantry that is too lazy or unsophisticated to understand its true interest.

To split hairs about whether it's Marxism or socialism or liberalism or whatever is to completely miss the point that it's always the same thing, just in various hues as required by the times.

The whole "fascism" discussion is as ridiculous under Obama as it was under Bush, since there isn't a scholar alive who can articulate an agreed-upon definition of what fascism is. Since we don't know what it is, then in reality all it is is an insult with intent to inflame.

Mussolini was a revolutionary statist who grabbed power on the themes of change, pragmatism, new thinking, action, and the power of the young to make a real difference to overturn stale politics. It's very familiar stuff in the age of Obama. Not because Obama is a fascist like Mussolini was, but because both are, fundamentally, propagandists who lean on the themes of statist dominance that appeal to the emotions of people who really crave control over others.

Conversely, I'd challenge any of the thousands of shrieking fools in the media and on the internet who daily accuse conservatives of fascistic thinking to produce a single thread of commonality between anti-statist American conservatives and either Mussolini or any other historical fascist.

Dave, I saw what you wrote, but my whole neighborhood has been w/o power off and on. So, this will be short lived as I do not wish to harm the Mac. It was a liberal leaning op-ed in a middle of the road Cleveland site, however, it clearly points out some of the nonsense that is being spewed. Your arguments are valid, and deserve answers, yet you are not going to get them with 25 people screaming and yelling at one.

"This action, since you refuse to call it a bill, will make it easier for the government to intrude into my life. Ever heard of the Medical Information Bureau?"

First, I don't how clear I can make it, there is no finalized bill(s), therefore no bill. Second, you already have the insurance companies holding onto your medical records, and then pre-determine whether you get covered or not. For example, if you had complications depression and then were finally diagnosed with bi-polar disease, you may or may not be covered. We need regulations to remedy that.

Our founders also did not have in mind we would allow our fellow citizens to fall on hard times and then be forced to fend for themselves.

That is it for me, I am not endangering a good comp with a power surge in Detroit this eve.

Communism in America: Mission Accomplished!

“I do not believe in communism any more than you do but there is nothing wrong with the Communists in this country. Several of the best friends I have got are Communists.”

Those words, famously spoken by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, seem archaic today. In retrospect, pre-dating the Cold War against the Communist Menace, they are also fatuously naive.

A common misconception is that, largely thanks to President Ronald Reagan, we overcame that menace and won that war when the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics collapsed, 1989-1991.

Here’s a newsflash. We may have won that war but we lost the “peace” that followed.

Most of us are aware that communist states are still around. Think China and the third rate countries of Cuba, North Korea, and Vietnam. However, Communism is no longer seen as a viable threat even if most countries do have communist political parties and dictators such as unavowed communist, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, make a lot of noise.

It’s important to realize that China, which supplies most of our consumer goods, and Russia, now headed by the puppet Dmitry Medvedev but actually controlled by former KGB officer Vladimir Putin, have never renounced Marx’s, Lenin’s, and Mao’s ambitions to rule the planet.

That reality came to mind when I stumbled on a document that was entered into the Congressional Record some 46 years ago which detailed the aims of the old menace.

If the Reds don’t seem threatening to America anymore, it’s only because they’ve already achieved most if not all of those aims. One last obstacle remains, the economic and moral implosion of the United States of America and President Obama is well on his way to facilitating those finalities.

The referenced document was entered into the Congressional Record (appendix pp. A34-A35, January 10th, 1963), by Rep. A.S. Hurlong, Jr. of Florida. The late congressman was a Democrat, long before that party was subverted by the likes of Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi.

That entry into the CR is capsulized here http://bit.ly/mMOKl.

Rep. Hurlong cited 45 aims of the Communist Party in America, including:

. “Free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.”

. “Recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.”

. ”Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind.”

. “Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.“

. “Get control of the schools.”. . .

NBC Segregates the News. So much for post-racial America, eh?

Posted by: V the K at August 10, 2009 2:05 AM

Kaa (the snake) represents the Obamunist Deathcare Movement. The "Man-Cub" (Mowgli) is the public being duped. Will Mowgli snap out of it in time?

BTW, where's Baloo? He's supposed to protect Mowgli.

Other characters in this story:

  • Bandar-log (the monkeys): These are the congress critters, as evidenced by their quote: We are great. We are free. We are wonderful. We are the most wonderful people in all the jungle! We all say so, and so it must be true.
  • Shere Khan (the tiger): This is Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the smooth talking intellectual elitist who thinks doctors take this whole Hippocratic Oath thing too seriously.

Are there more character analogies?
