Only a Return to Hunting and Gathering Can Stop Global Warming
It turns out that driving dorky Piouses and using toxic curlicue light bulbs won't be enough to save the polar bears from the imaginary menace of global warming. From The Economist:
Imagine a small group of farmers tending a rice paddy some 5,000 years ago in eastern Asia or sowing seeds in a freshly cleared forest in Europe a couple of thousand years before that. It is here, a small group of scientists would have you believe, that humanity launched climate change. Long before the Industrial Revolution — indeed, long before a worldwide revolution in intensive farming, the results of which kept humanity alive — people caused unnatural exhalations of greenhouse gases that had an impact on the world's climate. …although the size of the effect has increased markedly since the industrial revolution, it looks as if humanity has been interfering with the climate since the dawn of civilization.
Thank you, Economist, for confirming that what moonbats object to is civilization. There is still zero evidence that human activity has ever influenced global temperatures, as if warmer weather would somehow be a problem on a planet that tends to be too cold.

On a tip from SK. Hat tip: Ace of Spades HQ.

You know so many of us normal people react to this kind of nonsense thinking: "okay, if you believe humans are so bad, please YOU be the first to provide the solution" (meaning kill yourself) But you have to realize, what moonbats want is the KILL YOU---God fearing, liberty loving, responsible, conservative person and to leave them to live like "free peace loving hippies"
Imagine, no religion...nothing to live or die for....no possessions...
Give me a freakin' break AND GROW UP.

Please stop deliberately lying about climate change. "There is still zero evidence that human activity has ever influenced global temperatures" ... WRONG. Demonstrably incorrect to anyone on earth who actually studies these things for a living. (unless you ask the jesus-freaks for their 'scientists' to weigh in, of course...but then they believe in magic, so I think it is safe to ignore them.)
Answer these questions:
- Are the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere higher than the background level found in historical data like ice cores? (Yes.)
- Is there a large and growing hole in the ozone layer? (Yes. Yes there is.) Is it caused by magic? (No.)
- Is there a Nobel laureate and career scientist (or a few dozen of them... Energy Secretary, anyone?) who know that this is real, meaningful, and yet fix-able? (Yep. I know you all seem to think yourselves omnicient, but most of you cannot even display proper grammar. Who exactly should we trust? The smartest guys in the room, or the yell-heil-hitler-at-jews-in-public team? One of those seems like the sort of team I would not listen to...)
- Is the current GOP plan to do nothing at all until it becomes a crisis? (Of course. That is their plan for everything.)
- Is there a really easy analog for Earth that could provide a cautionary tale to those who think nothing bad can happen? (Yes. It is called Venus, is the next planet over, and has a runaway greenhouse effect. How's that going for them, you ask... surface temp is between 600 and 900 degrees F.)
So... whine all you like about how in the short term it will force companies to restructure, resulting in a momentary increase in various prices. Then think about how damn-fool selfish that is, remember that in 25 years, 50 years, 100 years there will still be people on earth and if we want them to be able to go outside, well... maybe we should in fact think about FIXING a problem. I know the conservative movement is bad at solving problems, but in this case you can just do the nothing you are accustomed to, and we will fix it for you.
Be sarcastic all you like, it just reinforces the knowledge that the conservative movement will do aything at all, mortgage anyone and everyone's future, if it will prevent Obama from scoring a single political point.
Shame on you.

Yeah, I do find it kind of sad that they say they have a solution but would prefer everyone to suffer for it. Knowing that they could take the leap for the "good of humanity" (which they're all for, right?) but refuse to and instead, force the crap onto everyone equally, which defeats the entire purpose of solving a "large" problem with simple solutions.
Simple solutions exist but they NEED complex solutions that infuriates everyone.
They build their mentality on complexity and ignore the obvious, simple things.
For example:
They'd prefer to have everyone regulate their breathing to 5 breaths per minute when just them taking up the cause of exterminating themselves would alleviate the suffering caused by regulations of 10 people for each moonbat that off-d themselves.
They're all for collective destruction just for the purpose of self-smugness. It's easier to impose pain on 10 people than martyr yourself for the greater cause.
Once again, they continuously contradict themselves.
This and cognitive dissonance (doublethink) is more proof that liberalism is a mental disorder, curable only by death.

Venus is nothing like Earth. Venus is 97% CO2. Earth is .03% not 3%, .03%.
Venus's temperatures are high for 2 reasons. 1) Its closer to the sun. 2) Its extremely high atmospheric pressure and density makes it hot.
Fact is CO2 levels have risen over the last 10 years but temperatures not only leveled off but begun to decline along with reduced solar activity.
Fact 1000 years ago it was as warm as it is now, if not warmer - Viking farmed Greenland back then. The only way you can do that now is use greenhouses.
CO2 is scam created by Malthusian types. CO2 is a lagging indicator and byproduct of warming, not the other way around.
Studies? Of course the studies and models predict warming - if they said otherwise, the money train of government grants would come to a stop.

Ok, Meh...
If there's "a large and growing hole in the ozone layer," then how do we patch it up?
Cerran wrap? Taxes? Population control? Government intervention in life? De-industrialization?
It's all well and good to think there's a hole in the ozone layer but whatever your ALL KNOWING GUB'MINT proposes doesn't show anything that will repair "the damage," just slow it down (if even that, it's a stretch at great expense of the world). But you're willing to slow down innovation, prosperity, life, and the world economy as a means to "slow the rate of damage?"
Nice to know that you are irritated by human life. Do us a favor, if it's THAT important. Please?
Find a helmet. Put on the damn helmet.

And once again nobody is capable of understaing what I said.
There are answers, that are NOT sarcastic. Carbon-sequestering is an existing technology that has practical applications in other fields as well. and... you know what, screw it, lets go this way:
"GOPers of the world Unite! We are having a fire sale! Everything MUST GO! Tetraethyl lead? We've got it! PCB's? You know it! And Dioxin? Better believe it! Grab all you can, pollute your asses off, and bring about the second coming by ending life as we know it on earth! Nothing can hurt us! We are all aware that know more from the depths of our 4th grade education than all of the ivory-tower eggheads combined! So... screw all y'all who are on board with 'science' or 'thinking' ... we're clearing you out!"
(Famous quote from Glen Beck, as read in the future in a history book under the heading 'FAIL'.)
Science exists. (Magic does not, if that helps any of you...) Those who study science are all of one mind about the problem (if not necessarily the direct cause; this is what science is all about) and similarly of one mind about the existence of technological solutions.
This is why the flat-earth society dominates the RADIO. It is about the limit of understanding for
the average 'conservative'.

Meth's "Science" completely failed to predict the current Global Cooling trend. Mainly because what he calls "science" is actually just clumsy computer models that, among other things, assume an infinitely thick atmosphere. Most of these models are tweaked to produce the politically desirable outcome.
It's the global warming hysterics who are relying on voodoo to advance their schemes. I notice fear of a warm planet hasn't gotten Al Gore, Arianna Huffington, Nancy Pelosi or Robert F Kennedy to swear off their carbon-spewing private jets. If they don't believe in the snake oil they're selling, why should I?

We are all aware that know more from the depths of our 4th grade education than all of the ivory-tower eggheads combined!
I know that you are being sarcastic but there is this thing known as an "educated fool." Now, clearly we have a education that is far greater than that of a 4th grader because, in your system, that's all the quality that you will achieve by the time you graduate from your "ivory tower," "ivy league" schools.
Granted, I went to a horribly liberal state school but that doesn't mean I actually fell in line with the drivel that they spewed forth.
Hell, I typically knew more than my professor and that, my friends, is just plain sad. It's a testament to how pitiful our liberal school system is. Anything of use, I had to learn ON MY OWN (which I did because I choose to be enlightened, not smothered by nonsense) because liberal schooling fails to deliver anything that prepares people for a productive future.
I mean, damn, I graduated with people that struggled to read. Our schooling system is a sad state of affairs.

Those who study science are all of one mind about the problem
This is a false statement, not that anyone should expect any better from a moonbat.
Let me help you, "meh": Google Solar Minima. And learn why the current cooling trend is caused by a lack of sunspot and solar flare activity.
Then look up the warming trend of the late 1990's - 1998 was a particularly hot year - and look at how the levels of sun spots and solar flares were extremely high.
My cell phone didn't always work too well in 1998 due to the increased solar radiation messing with satellites. That increased radiation meant: More solar energry was reaching Earth, thus, it was warmer outside.
Go on, Mr. "But the Scientists agree" liar. Do the research. You are *open minded*, aren't you?

"This is why the flat-earth society dominates the RADIO. It is about the limit of understanding for

You truly are unfathomably clueless. There's a good reason why radio is dominated by conservatives:
Those awful peasants who have jobs that have an actual practical need to exist - plumbers, builders, truck drivers, homemakers, engineers, etc - tend to be conservative.
Such people can't watch TV or play around on the internet all day, but are often in an environment where listening to the radio won't affect their work.
and 2+2 = conservative talk radio does better than its leftist competitors.

If you are "educated" in the science of "misleading facts and twisting numbers," does that not deny intelligence?
Just because one is educated does not entitle them to the "I R SMARTER" title. Your education could be fundamentally based on 2 = 3, but that, would not be education, because IT IS WRONG.
Hell, I could've gone to college and studied unicorns. But, knowing the non-existence of such creatures, one could argue that my education was fluff... and thus, bullshit. If I were then to talk about unicorns (as though I were the almighty god of unicorns), I'd be a complete idiot.
Liberals tend to argue things that they learned in their education bubble but, if there is no truth or substance to the education, then it is all unfounded garbage... thus, educated fool.

I had friends tell me that Communism was the greatest system in the world.
Now, on a theoretical basis, I see some merit in this (EVERYONE equal). But, I explained to them that, in reality land, Communism creates, by its nature, a class structure, because someone has to micromanage from the top. This is what they failed to understand. They seem to think everyone will work for everyone and be content with being paid the same amount, regardless of the nature of the work.
They didn't understand that a class system inevitably results but, in communism, there are TWO classes with a gap as far as the eyes can see, but in capitalism, there is a smooth spread among THREE classes with the ability transition classes. Communism keeps the disparity great and there is no path to success and no encouragement to be exceptional. Collective laziness.

Is this a bad time to mention that of the 10 hottest years on record, worldwide, all 10 of them are in the last 12 years?
Follow me here: The environmental issue is damned important to the FUTURE. I see, time and again when discussing government programs, the "won't somebody PLEASE think of the children" argument. And they are not talking about the actual habitability of the earth, they are talking about running a budget deficit for a few years while we make the populace healthier/safer/whatever.
Either recognize that there is indeed a "future" out there and get with the program across the board (which means embracing environmental issues), or quit whining about the costs of things like healthcare. Is a deficit really all that bad if we have no earth left to inhabit?

Meh, Your disorganised rambling, introduction of things nothing to do with climate change, first paragraph switch from climate change to the now discredited warming, obvious ignorance of what is a 'greenhouse gas', failure to recognise that the biggest greenhouse gas namely water vapour is still the same as it always was, makes it an exercise in futility to correct it line by line.
The BBC on its extensive weather page posts this
Emeritus Professor of Biogeography at the University of London, Philip Stott [reports]
“Climate change has to be broken down into three questions:
1'Is climate changing and in what direction?' 2'Are humans influencing climate change, and to what degree?'
3'Are humans able to manage climate change predictably by adjusting one or two factors out of the thousands involved?'
The most fundamental question is: 'Can humans manipulate climate predictably?' Or, more scientifically: 'Will cutting carbon dioxide emissions at the margin produce a linear, predictable change in climate?'
The answer is 'No'. In so complex a coupled, non-linear, chaotic system as climate, not doing something at the margins is as unpredictable as doing something. This is the cautious science; the rest is dogma.”
On their post on evidence, they cite absolutely no-one. In other words nobody is prepared to give a contrary answer to Professor Stott.
Stephen Chu's expertise is in physics, he 'believes' in renewable energy and that kind of thing. His opinion on climate change is on the same level as his opinion on the best paint, place to holiday, or best pitcher. He was picked because his views on climate were the same as Obama's.
So start with the questions posed by Stott, read up on it. Then apologise.

The thing is, it doesn't matter. Climate is driven more by the earth's oscillations and the Sun and the Sun's rotation around the solar center of gravity which "stirs" the Sun's plasma causing it's magnetic field to grow or diminish causing the magnetic field of the Sun to let in or decrees cosmic rays here at the earth and so affect cloud cover, and where the solar system is in the arms of the galaxy and how this affects cloud formation, than the one very small variable of an infinitesimal percentage of CO2 emitted by human society.
Whereas, actual climatologists take in all variables to understand the earth's climate, charlatans - of the global warming hoax - do everything they can to lay blame on human induced atmospheric gases.
Posted by: Kevin R. at August 19, 2009 8:27 PM
Global warming / climate change proponents crack me up. There is reasonably no way in hell that man can make one iota of difference in the earth weather or global temperatures one way or the other short of a massive nuclear blast. We are but a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things. We have a better chance of getting hit by an asteroid than being affected by anything other than extreme temperature variations. Furthermore, warmer temperatures are more conducive to plant growth thusly food production. We all know that's a bad thing. I hope the asteroid that slams this planet either hits after I'm long gone or lands right in my lap. Bottom line is, what difference does it make?
It's all bullshit to create wealth and more power for the political elite. Nothing more.
