On a personal note, I don't like this lethal injection business. When his time came, my beloved dog died from a lethal injection, and he just slumped as though falling asleep, quickly and painlessly.

Also, the sentence should be carried out within a year of conviction. None of this dying of old age on death row crap. That's why the deterrent effect is now low; morons don't connect cause and event very well. If they realized that if they murder someone on New Year's Day, they won't see the next New Year's Day, and will go out in a horrible fashion...then we'll see deterrence. After all, who commits capital crimes in Singapore?

I don't think that a quid pro quo in this case would constitute "cruel and unusual punishment".
