Media Matters' Two Minute Hate

See if you can find any hate in this "Two Minutes Hate" video from the lefties at Media Matters:

Didn't see any hate? That's because you were supposed to bring your own. Newsreal explains:

It's not that the people in the video are hateful, it's the people watching the video who are filled with hate. Media Matters must have thought they were being so clever by naming their video series "Two Minutes Hate." But apparently whoever decided on it never actually read George Orwell's 1984!

Or maybe they did read it, and are once again using it as an instruction manual. The Two Minutes Hate is intended to whip statist drones into a frenzy of hatred toward people who represent freedom. In Orwell's book, the target of the hate is Emanuel Goldstein. For Media Matters, Rush, Glenn Beck, and Lou Dobbs fulfill the purpose.

On a tip from Oiao.

The hate is their video, not what is contained in it. 2:16 is close enough to two minutes, so it should count.

The hate here is from the liberals, against the conservatives. Or, in terms of 1984, from the statists against those who wish to retain some semblance of freedom and respect for the constitution.

They don't seem to understand their analogy, and thus, have descended into ridiculous self-parody. I would think moonbats would be familiar with 1984, since it seems a source of their inspiration.

Agreed. The people that produced this are the ones with a hatred issue. Liberals/Progressives like to define themselves as open to all ideas and tolerant of others' views. I just didn't get that feeling. But most confounding is how the truths and fair questions spoken on it are somehow supposed to ridicule the right ? Not getting it.

Are these people so mentally mangled that they think this video makes a logical point?

Soros ought to be able to do better than this.

Be warned! You CANNOT talk to these ILLIBERALS. You CANNOT reason with them because they don`t want to hear it in the first place. They have not the mental wherewithal to handle a debate. I don`t mean they are all stupid (although many are quite dumb), I mean they operate from a severe sense of inferiority and being "found out." They are the ones who always worry about how they are viewed by others. They build a fragile shell about themselves and once pierced, there is very little inside and that is the being "found out" they fear most. They rarely read a book or really investigate the reality about them. I know this well for my sister is just such a one. This is not just a political problem. It is a core values problem. Everyone knows better than to bring up politics with her. To do so is to bring a creepy chill into the immediate vicinity. Finally, I merely broached the topic with her and as a consequence find myself unwelcome at my sister`s home. I assure you I merely broached the subject of politics. That Obama "may" not be good for America. No debate followed, for she could not BEAR to have a debate for the reasons I have described. Her only response was a stony silence. This divide is not just political. It gets to the very core of basic beliefs. Not unlike our own Civil War.Sad but true.
