I think the protest was awesome. I was not there. I am from Lincoln Park, Michigan. Which is very much south of there.

In the interest to strict honesty. Ghost of Wellstone is correct. That area is a mostly White and affluent part of this area. As opposed to where I am, which is a middle class working area. However, I will point out, that there was some sort of a Tea Party protest in Taylor, Michigan; which is a hope, skip and a jump from me here.

So, while SOW was correct, his assertion that the protests are being conducted by White Racists is just pure bullcorn.

When people in such a place find themselves so much in objection to something that they take to demonstrations, I put a LOT more credibility into that than when some habitually disaffected group shows up with manufactured signs to bitch about somebody not forking out enough of their own money to satisfy the grievance-du-jour. I have much more sympathy for those whose grievance is that they're being taken from than for those whose grievance is they're not being given enough.
