Private Food Bank Feeds Pennsylvania Bureauweenies
Big Government is so overextended and inept that it can't even write the paychecks for the cushy union jobs that make it run. Fortunately, there are still private food banks to step in to prevent the Zimbabwe-style starvation that would surely otherwise result if bureauweenies have to skip a paycheck:
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank says it's gearing up services to accommodate state workers who are affected by the budget impasse.
Starting July 20, state workers can call the food bank, 717-564-1700, and alert them about needing a box of food. … State workers will need to bring their state ID badges to pick up their boxes.
One day soon, the private sector isn't going to be there for our socialist rulers to loot, demonize, and then fall back on. Then we'll all be in trouble.
On a tip from forest.

When I have a client who's slow to pay an invoice, my first thought isn't "where's my free box of food?".

Let them eat cake! How much money does PA save every day there is no budget. Just shut down the whole dame thing for a few months.

Anonymous,
I live in PA... and it cost a staggering amount of money just feeding, housing, and running utilities for these inbred legislature pricks that can't settle a budget.
But, the issue here isn't the legislature... it's that sleezeball Spendell that denies the budget that gets put on his table. We're wasting MORE money because that piece of garbage refuses to pass a budget that doesn't have incredibly huge increases for Filthadelphia and Shitsburgh.

And S-CHIP too. Spendell is expanding that.

When they go and collect the career highlights of Ed Rendell, there's no doubt the Pennsylvania Governor will find this piece of videotape from The Pittsburgh Channel prominently featured.
In the 2009-2010 battle of the budget, Rendell said state workers should "put a statute of me on the mantel,'' for the way he is trying to save jobs."
The accompanying commentary is not too kind to Mr. Spendell.

Karin,
The guy is unbelievable. He should have been a character on the Sopranos. He's a corrupt gangster who's been elected by Philadelphia to loot the rest of the state. Man, I'd love to unload that horrible city.

What really galls me is that some of my fellow conservatives apparently can't tell the difference between the assholes that call the shots and the people who just happen to be employed in the public sector. It's as myopic as the lunatic leftists who keep confusing their lack of skills or poor attitude with racism and bigotry. We're not all affirmative action hires and some of us would be running our own businesses if not for stifling taxes and over regulation.
Fortunately, I practiced the fiscal responsibility I've been preaching and won't have to rely on the food bank. I'll take care of myself without a statist handout or depriving the needy. I wonder how many of my fellow conservatives running their mouthes off on blogs and forums can say the same?

Really, this should be a golden opportunity to sound off about special Ed outside of the confines of the local newspapers. Just please remember that, as you keep consuming state services, the people providing them are being held hostage by the governor. As loathe as I am to both praise the Senate and not get paid, they have to hold the line against Rendell's tax hikes (16% jump in income tax, new local sales taxes, etc) and increased spending in the face of falling revenues.
