I am adopted and I had a question regarding the new bill being proposed which states that from now on a Presidential Candidate will have to produce a long term birth certificate.

Adopted children do not have long form birth certificates, we only have adoption certificates. This serves the same purpose as a birth certificate for us as far as identification purposes.

This new bill being proposed would actually make it illegal for kids who were born in America, but were then adopted, to become president.

What do you guys think about this?

AK, you're full of crap. I've adopted two kids from foster care, and both were issued official state birth certificates, sealed and embossed, that plainly stated the place of birth. The only change was that I was listed as the father instead of the bio-dad. In every other respect, they are identical to birth certificates issued by the states in which they were born.

I don't think much about your argument, because your premise is false. If it is meant to be a strawman argument for why Obama shouldn't provide his long-form, if he has one, it is pathetically weak. Everyone has a long form birth certificate they can get that was born in this country (except foreigners like Obama, who was born in Kenya). Even adopted kids have them. Your original long-form birth certificate would be registered in the Bureau of Vital Statistics in the city or town where you were born under your biological mother's name, but it may not show who your father was, as some young unwed mothers may leave the space "father" blank or possibly even name another person as the father because they aren't sure who was the father. In some states it may be sealed by court order. In any event, should you decide to run for president, I have no doubt the adoption agency has a record of who your biological mother is (was), even if you haven't met her, and you could obtain this record in such case, even if need by by judicial process. The only interest in the record would be to show that you are a natural-born citizen of the United States, which would be easily identifiable, including the listing of what hospital you were from. I haven't read the proposed bill, but can't imagine that it would make it illegal for an adopted kid to become president. If you can cite us to any specific place in the proposed bill that supports your statement, do so. I am sure that plenty of adopted kids do geneological research and acquire their original long-form certificates all the time. You just have to want to find it, that's all. Every one of my kids had to provide a long-form certificate to register for Little League baseball. It is likely Obama's or his folks refusal to provide the long-form certificate kept him from playing baseball (although since he wants to hide all records of his childhood and past, we'll never know). This fact alone would explain why to this day he throws a baseball like a girl, as shown in the earlier posts today.

Hawaii's Health Department confirmed yesterday that it has President Obama's original Aug. 4, 1961, birth certificate in storage, but the announcement is unlikely to satisfy conspiracy theorists who insist Obama was born in Kenya.
"We don't destroy vital records," Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said. "That's our whole job, to maintain and retain vital records."

(The problem is, they won't show or give it anyone, and Obama certainly won't provide it willingly. Wonder why all of this hoopla over shielding it?)

Interestingly, the article is accurate in that it validates what intelligent folks have said all along that the long-form can be ordered produced for a legal reason established by a court order, which would make Cook's quest all the better.

The story attaches a sample microfilm copy of another long-form birth certificate from 1961, which is what Obama's should look like if it exists, showing the types of information a long-form contains, including, doctor, hospital, race, etc.)

The story also exposes CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein's lie in telling staffers of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" that the issue is a "dead" story, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

In an e-mail, according to the Times, Klein wrote that CNN researchers had determined that Obama's 1961 birth certificate no longer exists because Hawai'i officials had discarded paper documents in 2001 — a claim denied yesterday by Isle health officials.

In 2001, Hawai'i's paper documents were reproduced in electronic format but "any paper data prior to that still exists," Health Department spokeswoman Okubo said.

Okubo would not say where Obama's original birth certificate is, but said "we have backups for all of our backups."

"Our Certificate of Live Birth is the standard form, which was modeled after national standards that are acceptable by federal agencies and organizations," Okubo said. "With that form, you can get your passport or your soccer registration or your driver's license."

The line "Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961;" appeared to be construed by birthers as a thinly veiled attempt to get Congress to affirm Obama's U.S. citizenship, Helfert said.

As the issue came to a vote yesterday, Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann rose to object, saying there was not a quorum present.

The House later voted unanimously 378-0 to approve the resolution. Bachmann voted in favor of the resolution.

BTW the founding fathers used the “natural born citizen” clause to avoid any obvious conflicts by a U.S. president that may result from dual, divided or questionable loyalties to any foreign government or nation.

Dear god... what Bawney Fwank is trying to say is that he's here to build a system (the gov't) which knows better, how to spend MY money, and that I will MAKE money as a byproduct... absolute stupidity. We can draw absolutely no conclusions, or we can conclude quite a number of things depending on our capacity for tidbit interpretation.

If Prof. Gates has learned anything in his nearly 59 years, from his mammy or from reality, it has been to keep his mouth shut when to open it would display his true, bigoted racial attitudes. Some have termed such attitudes, “blackitude,” referring to the ‘tude shown when blacks are feeling most repressed.

Prof. Gates vividly demonstrated his blackitude when a protective but white, Cambridge cop tried to do his duty after a report of possible burglary at Gates’ home. His charges of racism and racial profiling were both unfounded and reactionary, very possibly a reaction based on his mom’s detestation of all things white.

None of this is new news among dedicated and professionally “repressed” minorities in America.

What those professionals will think of the now-confirmed Obama scheme to turn down the volume of the racial uproar he pumped up with his infamous “stupidly” remark by staging a White House Obama-Gates-Crowley beer detente is unknown.

Another unknown is their reaction to the most recent revelation that Crowley and Gates are “cousins.”
