Well, I have video cameras, and both of those handy, so it's easy to decide. Technology can set you free.

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at July 10, 2009 9:58 AM

Me to Mr. Evilwrench. Cameras on entrance and on all sides of the house. If you get past those then you will come in contact with my laser sight. After that.....well, you are food for my dog.

There will be no judge or jury for any perp that passes the threshold of my house only a meat wagon.

Posted by: Dave at July 10, 2009 10:04 AM

Hmmm... let's look at the pros and cons of both weapons.
1: Both are made in Red China....

Posted by: KHarn at July 10, 2009 10:31 AM

Personally, I'd grab my Remington 870 with the low-pressure 00 buckshot shells I have. That way I could turn the perp into a seive without putting anything through an outer wall of my house.

Posted by: Seamus at July 10, 2009 10:40 AM

Good call Seamus but I prefer to make a statement.... Federal LE Magnum 1 oz riffled HP at 1600 ft per second... yea I have to replace the wall if I miss... but I don't miss.

PS I have a Mossey #54125, Knoxx Spec Ops RS stock, Picatinny Rail, Sightmark laser dual shot reflex sight. Rock and Roll!

Posted by: FreeWillie at July 10, 2009 11:02 AM

I like the follow-thru Van Helsing... 3M and 3AM. Remington 870 came with a synthetic stock, bead sight, and a mop!

Posted by: Spanky at July 10, 2009 11:16 AM

For those of us in the Gay People's Republic of Massachusetts, even a broom might be considered a weapon of hate, if the intruder is a newcomer to our land or if he is a member of a diverse population.

Property is never worth taking a human life. You should let your guest have whatever he wants. He is probably underprivileged, but you can always buy more.

Here in MA, you can't carry bottled water without a permit from the Sheriff's Office. It takes two letters of reference, plus $50...and it must be openly carried in plain sight.

Posted by: Stymie of Hyannis at July 10, 2009 11:27 AM

Hey Massachusetts people. I have noticed for some time that in the letters to the editor in the weekly national edition of the Washington Times, there are always 2 letters from conservatives from MA. What is going on there? Who let those people in?

Posted by: Karin at July 10, 2009 11:32 AM

Karin...I smuggled them into MA in the back of my GM Suburban, along with 70 cases of incandescent 150w light bulbs.

Posted by: Stymie of Hyannis at July 10, 2009 11:36 AM

hopefully, he's worked out all the angles for using that AK.

Posted by: mega at July 10, 2009 11:40 AM

My 870 came with a synthetic stock (that I replaced with a full tactical stock), 7 round extension, added a scope rail and red dot. I can't even count how many different types of shells I keep for it, I try to buy a box/case of whatever 00 or slugs I can find per week... shelves are getting bare around here.

Mine didn't come with a mop, but my roommate has one and she loves to clean. :)

Posted by: Seamus at July 10, 2009 11:41 AM

I don't know about a broom - but a 9-iron is a good choice in a semi-confined dark area. Of course there's still wall damage to consider.

I'd go with the #8 shot in a 12 ga.

But that's nice perimeter protection the guy in the picture has.

Posted by: Jimbo at July 10, 2009 12:22 PM

On a related note, you know how the leftist dimwits repeat the chant about Obama "returning science to its proper place?" Well, apparently, that includes appointing a 'Science Czar' who believes in involuntary abortions, forced sterilization, and population control over 'undesirables.'.

This nutjob wanted to put sterilization chemicals in the drinking water. And he's not just shouting from the kook fringe, he is the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Posted by: V the K at July 10, 2009 12:34 PM

Geezus, VtheK. Thanks for posting that. More horrors in this living nightmare. And I don't think there's anything we can do about this guy, is there? What a monster.

I was just going to drop in here and tell everyone to check out Iowahawk today, it's pretty funny.

Posted by: Karin at July 10, 2009 1:44 PM

Be nicer if you know how to use it before you grab it...

personally given how he holds his weapon, i prefer him to have the broom.

I'd prefer a good 50 meter kill zone mined with trusty "AMERICAN MADE" M18A1 CLAYMORE Mines.

...Wide spread, no need for fussy aiming.
(not responsible for divots in the lawn created during detonation.)

Helsing, no opinion on Ensign's scandal getting worse? Keeps Cindy Hampton on payroll after she leaves, gives her $25,000 severence pay in addition to the 8 $12,000 payments made by his parents to her family...Jeez! And Senator Coburn helped try and cover this up? Lol. If John Ensign were a Democrat you guys be losing it. Things keep getting worse for Republicans don't they? Like Hannity, you refuse to pay attention unless a Democrat does it...correct? Bribery under law is a crime. Hush money is just pathetic.

Paul Krugman then set out to attack the study but, true to Leftist form by using ad hominem attacks against’s-“public-plan”-is-built-on-a-medicare-myth/

Krugman’s attempted attack did not even address the point Book made in passing, but which Merrill Matthews notes with a bit more detail:
Public figures for Medicare’s administrative costs count only what it takes to print reimbursement checks. Normal operating costs — rent, management, health insurance, taxes, capital to start a business and new equipment — which private insurers must include in their administrative costs, are counted elsewhere in the federal budget.
Official Medicare administrative costs simply exclude what most companies must include. No administrative cost savings exist in the public plan, and the true costs will never be counted because they’ll be hidden in the federal budget.

Holdren's views are alarming in the extreme. Especially given that he is part of Obama's "Extreme Green Team" and holds the title of Czar (apparently meaning accountable to no one other than Obama). Since eco-fanatics believe "Global Warming" is caused by humans, most of them think the ultimate solution is the extinction of the human race. Holdren's "solutions" fit right in.

Why the hell aren't we hearing more about this? Scratch that. We all know the answer.

McCain Hung Governor Palin Out To Dry in 2008 Campaign

Still, while the McCain campaign had practical and understandable reasons to not take possession of the attack, they really went too far in pushing the claim entirely on to Palin -- who was already being savaged by the liberal media. True, you don't want McCain claiming authorship of the attack, but why can't mere staffers, entirely unknown to the general public and not running for anything, take some of the bad-cop heat on this?

A recent leaked email demonstrates that Palin said precisely what she was asked to say, and authorized to say. Almost verbatim.

I'm grabbing the second thing when I hear the Obamacorps census "youths" ring my doorbell. I'll hand the ones that can still crawl the first thing and a mop bucket to clean up afterwards.
