Obama's Science Czar John Holdren Considered Putting Sterilants in Our Drinking Water
To undermine the balance of powers that guards against tyranny, Comrade Obama has been appointing "Czars" who do not have to answer to Congress. To get an idea of the brand of apparatchik that gets appointed Czar by our Community Activist in Chief, let's review the opinions of the new Science Czar, John Holdren. Below are a few quotations from Ecoscience, which he coauthored with Paul and Anne Ehrlich, via Zombietime:
On forced abortions:
Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.
On government confiscation of babies:
One way to carry out this disapproval might be to insist that all illegitimate babies be put up for adoption — especially those born to minors, who generally are not capable of caring properly for a child alone. … It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society.
On targeted involuntary sterilization:
The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.
On mass involuntary sterilization:
Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.
We wouldn't want livestock to be affected while we're snuffing out the human race. What would PETA say?
On government dictating family size:
In today's world, however, the number of children in a family is a matter of profound public concern. The law regulates other highly personal matters. For example, no one may lawfully have more than one spouse at a time. Why should the law not be able to prevent a person from having more than two children?
Don't want to kill your baby? Then you're a racist:
Another related issue that seems to encourage a pronatalist attitude in many people is the question of the differential reproduction of social or ethnic groups. Many people seem to be possessed by fear that their group may be outbred by other groups. … Obviously, if everyone tries to outbreed everyone else, the result will be catastrophe for all.
On the ultimate liberal dream — a planetary totalitarian state:
Perhaps those agencies, combined with UNEP and the United Nations population agencies, might eventually be developed into a Planetary Regime — sort of an international superagency for population, resources, and environment. Such a comprehensive Planetary Regime could control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of all natural resources, renewable or nonrenewable…
The Planetary Regime might be given responsibility for determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries' shares within their regional limits.
On surrendering national sovereignty to the international Gestapo:
If this could be accomplished, security might be provided by an armed international organization, a global analogue of a police force. Many people have recognized this as a goal, but the way to reach it remains obscure in a world where factionalism seems, if anything, to be increasing. The first step necessarily involves partial surrender of sovereignty to an international organization.
Other progressives brought hell to earth in Germany, Russia, and China. But radical environmentalism has laid the groundwork for nightmarish extremes of totalitarianism undreamt of by Hitler, Stalin, or Mao.
Satanic freaks like Holdren are now running the USA. It would be impossible to overstate the danger we face.

These creeps always come to this. I'll tell you what, no elected official has the authority to surrender any of our constitutional rights or sovereignty to an international organization.

I wonder if all the welfare queens and other idiotic ignoramuses who voted for B. Hussein Obama have a clue that they are largely the people Holdren had envisioned in his elitist ivory-tower mind to sterilize and force abortions on when he pontificated about such. Perhaps this power-crazed czar as well as the other ones may too fall to the hands of this country's Bolshevicks.
Posted by: GhostofJournalism at July 11, 2009 7:44 PM
You are wrong, Kevin. Unfortunately, our elected officials do have the right to subordinate our sovereignty to international organizations.
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
Therein lies why the ecofanatics are so insistent on a global warming treaty. Few citizens understand the real implications of this. Let's see where things stand in December.
Posted by: mega at July 11, 2009 7:53 PM
mega, I know that's why they want treaties. I don't mean this to sound disingenuous, but does Article VI refer to the US Constitution or to "the Constitution or Laws of any State"?
I find it hard to believe that the Framers would have rigorous provision for amending the US Constitution but then allow it to be abrogated by treaty. I'm no constitutional scholar, but it doesn't seem like very many of the Framers would have gone for that.
Posted by: Kevin R at July 11, 2009 8:26 PM
Hey Kev, it definitely refers to the Constitution (of the US) or Laws of any State. That's the whole problem in a nutshell.
When it comes to this constitutional/legal stuff, I'm just a hobbyist, but I've read my Federalist Papers, like most other people who went to college before the hippies rewrote the curricula. It's pretty clear that the founders did not intend Article VI to mean we should be getting our marching orders from effete Belgians. For instance, Madison said this:
I do not conceive that power is given to the President and the Senate to dismember the empire, or alienate any great, essential right. I do not think the whole legislative authority have this power. The exercise of the power must be consistent with the object of the delegation.
On natural principles, a treaty, which should manifestly betray or sacrifice primary interests of the state, would be null.
surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way
The problem in this, as in all things, is that Obama and his allies in Congress could not give a damn what the founders intended. The founders unfortunately bound US law to treaties for specific purposes that were relevant to the time, and then put into the commentary the philosophical limitations they had in mind but didn't put into the document. That's a problem. It's about to get its first true test. Well, actually the ICC was the first true test, but this one will be farther reaching.

mega, to my mind when it says: "any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding" it appears to my mind to refer to the State constitutions and laws "notwithstanding" - not to overriding anything in the US Constitution.
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land
To me this would mean that the US Constitution, the US Laws, and all Treaties made shall be the supreme law of the land. It doesn't say that treaties TRUMP the US Constitution or US laws. It does mean that treaties can TRUMP State laws and Constitutions which is why they put the disclaimer about States at the end of the Article. It would be folly to have both the US Constitution and to have treaties which might rescind the Constitution both be the supreme law of the land at the same time. Do you see what I mean? I can't believe that the Framers would be so sloppy in execution.
Like I said, I'm no Constitutional scholar and you probably know more about it than I do. I'm book smart but I dropped out of high-school and took a GED so I could join the Navy when I was young. So my formal education is lacking, to say the least. But those are my thoughts on the subject - and I'll tell you honestly, I want the way that I see it to be the one that is right because the way I see it bars treaties that break the Constitution and may be our only chance of preserving it.
It's an interesting subject. I wish it were just academic. I don't like having such subjects be the focus of my attention because of the fact that we are living in interesting times.

What a suprise, leftists carrying out a plan that would make Hitler green with envy. I'm really shocked that the admireres of Marx with their pure bolshevism plan to outdo Hitler's pseudo-bolshevism."Satanic" is appropriate to describe the plans of people like Holdren.
Of course, the left has for years been screaming "HITLER" at anything to the right of Stalin, so that when their racist, anti-life fantasies take reality, the Hitler-card will have been played so many times that no one will be allowed to criticize them based on that similarity.
By this time it should be obvious the reason why the Left hates National Socialism is because its god, Hitler, attacked their god, Stalin.

Oh the world is changing, and it is sweet. Universal health care is on the way, and nothing you can do will stop it. You will spend the next 50 years trying to dismantle it to no avail, just like you've been trying to dismantle Social Security since the 1930s. The energy bill will change the planet and the US for the better, and there's nothing you can do about it. You hear us? NOTHING!!!!
HA HA HA HA HA!!!
We love it that you love Sarah Palin. Please please please nominate her for President in 2012. Nothing will ensure another four years of progress than that. Oh sure, at some point, another Republican will get elected (2020?). No majority lasts forever (Mr. Rove). But that person will not be able to undo the progress that the Obama administration will have set in stone. Social Security and Civil Rights are now a fait accompli, and though idiots still try to attack them at the fringes, they aren't going anywhere. The same will happen with all the Obama programs.
And by the way, your numbers will keep dwindling. You are 19% of the population right now, but demographics are not on your side. Soon, white people will be a minority. Our increasingly numerous Black and Hispanic brethren and our growing urban centers will ensure your voices will continue to be marginalized until some day in the not-so-distant future they will be extinguished, just as backward, reactionary, pseudo-christian redneck zealotry always is.

Posted by: Anonymous at July 12, 2009 9:55 AM
It's amazing how little people understand about what the white man has brought to civilization.
Most of the greatest things in mankind can be attributed to them.
Now, I'm no racist but I do draw simple conclusions based on clear evidence. Look at South Africa... was a shithole. Whites colonized/took control of it and turned it around so it was a far better place. Then, power was the handed back to Africans and, low and behold, it's a festing shithole of poverty and crime.
Also, I've read studies where they had predominantly white neighborhoods that were nice, productive places to live (little crime, clean, no drugs) and they forced "equality" in them. Low and behold, crime skyrocketed and drug trafficking became the norm when they infested this good neighborhood with common black/mexican thugs.
Simple correlations people. Where blacks and mexicans go, crime and drugs follow. It's not racist of me to make these assertions if it's a proven fact.
So go ahead, bite the hand that feeds you and push the black/hispanic population into the majority. We'll see how far that gets. Just look at Mexico, Africa, and European countries (they're going to the wayside).
I pray for this country because the greatness of it is getting crushed so that the current minority can turn it into yet another pile of garbage like they've done to their own country.
You can't fix stupidity.

Al sums it up nicely, "Anyone, and I do mean anyone, who does not see the potential for this gang of thugs to become another SS is deluding themselves, and they do so at their own peril."
The Neosocialist Left dismisses us as paranoid and reactionary, yet history shows quite conclusively that we're absolutely right.
The Left is at war with science, with free speech, with religion, and is absolutely scared to death of the sort of personal freedoms we hold dear. By using lawfare, Cloward-Piven, a complicit media, and an army of supposedly progressive but misguided Letterman-Loving Lying, Loopy, Loony, Lemming-Like Liberal Leftist Loser tools, they have momentarily succeeded in gaining some actual political power....and we have to push back.
They're using everything they can to divide us, too - including keeping racism alive and promoting class warfare, and appealing to our emotions.......some well-meaning but misguided emotions (like the pseudoenvironmentalists) to those that are genuinely evil, like those involved in the wild grab for power and control we're seeing now.
Shooter is right - get a gun and know how to use it. History has shown this could go all the way, but let's try make sure it doesn't. If this leads to another revolution or a war, then in a way, we have failed We need to stop this long before that.
What I do think we need to prepare ourselves for is a whole bunch of civil unrest. This goes back to the class warfare and racism the Neosocialists are so actively promoting.

Just like the Interstate Commerce Clause, the delegated authority is to regulate: make weights and measures standards and make standards for coin money (ie content of gold or silver). Those quotes are him relating a "what-if" scenario, not his desires. That's pretty obvious from the tone of his writing. And you can reason no political figure would make statements advocating forced abortion - it'd be political suicide. Instead, he hypothesized a possible future state (in a similar manner to how Orwell wrote 1984), and his statements were misinterpreted and twisted.
