No Laughing at Doctor Obama

Posted by Dave Blount at July 28, 2009 9:25 AM

In light of the catastrophic consequences it will inevitably have regarding the cost, quality, and accessibility of healthcare, ObamaCare is no laughing matter. But that's not why a doctor got in big trouble for passing along this harmless and widely circulated joke:

St. Petersburg neurosurgeon David McKalip has been active in the resistance to Obama's planned seizure of the healthcare industry. But no longer, now that it's been learned that he forwarded the picture above, incurring the establishment's sanctimonious wrath.

The absurd incident perfectly illustrates how Comrade Obama's special skin color — which got him into office in the first place — is exploited to help him ram through a socialist agenda that virtually no one outside the media agrees with. An opponent of Marxist healthcare has been removed from the battlefield.

McKalip is withdrawing himself, at least temporarily, from the public eye, canceling interviews that were scheduled regarding health care reform, and removing himself from prominent positions, such as those with the American Medical Association and the Pinellas County Medical Association.
Other people can take up the anti-government stance on health care he has been espousing, he said. For him to continue speaking publicly, after the dust-up over the Obama picture, would serve as a distraction.

Once the media was able to connect his name to the picture, McKalip was toast.

Within hours, the Florida Medical Association denounced what McKalip had done in a statement posted Thursday on its Web site and the organization called on him to apologize.
"The Florida Medical Association is an organization with a zero tolerance for racist or discriminatory behavior," the statement said "As such, we do not condone the circulation of what has been described by the press as a racist depiction of President Obama by David McKalip, M.D. […yadda yadda yadda…] The Florida Medical Association is disappointed by Dr. McKalip's actions and urges Dr. McKalip to extend President Obama an apology for this egregious deed."

Egregious, for crying out loud.

I'm guessing that if ObamaCare passes, McKalip won't have to wait until he's 65 to start being denied healthcare.

On a tip from Wiggins.
