Hybrid Drivers Cost More to Insure
Auto insurers are learning that moonbattery does not pay:
Quite a few big-name auto insurers have been giving hybrid owners a discount on their premium. But those deals might not last much longer; as an insurance data-analysis firm points out, the insurance industry could be losing big because of this. … Hybrid drivers typically drive farther, get more tickets, and have significantly more expensive insurance claims.
Life insurance companies must be losing out too, considering what death traps these rolling beer cans tend to be.
It's nice to see people finally beginning to evaluate the price of enviro-righteousness.

On a tip from baldeagle390.

The poor safety must be why car reviewer Jeremy Clarkson didn't actually drive the Hinda Insight into a tre, not that he wasn't tempted:
"It’s terrible. Biblically terrible. Possibly the worst new car money can buy. It’s the first car I’ve ever considered crashing into a tree, on purpose, so I didn’t have to drive it any more."

AVC: Some people argue that Prius owners are dangerous because they don’t care about cars, and therefore are terrible drivers.
PJO: They’re bad drivers because they’re idiots. And we know they’re idiots because they bought a Prius.

Love the photo. That's the best-looking Prius I've ever seen.

My wife and I always joke that Priuses (Prii?) leave the factory that way, just to save the owners the time and hassle of applying one themselves.

I vote for greater availability of the Lame-ass and other cars like the (not so) Smart Car.
Finally we have a Darwinian selector and it's being pushed by the very government that swears to protect its citizens from harm, thus guaranteeing sheeple flocking to them (pardon the pun).
Schadenfreude, thou are sweet indeed!

Well of course. Hybrids are most commonly owned by dreaming leftists. Without a sense of reality, how are they supposed to pay attention to the road?

Hey now, I've been thinking about a smart car for buzzing around town. Most of my driving is very short and a smart car could really be the ticket, plus I'm almost within walking distance of a dealer. I did get a 150cc scooter, though due to a herniated disk I've been unable to finish my lisence. Maybe soon.

Every time I see a smart car, I expect to see about one dozen circus clowns emerge from it.

Personally I would never own one for a very simple reason.
NO room for shopping bags!!
There's no place to put anything and if I get something like a picture or a nice lamp or anything else I would rather take it home than call a moving truck to do it.

Prius drivers likely get more tickets and are involved in more accidents because they tend to be arrogant, self-righteous and self-centered. Stop signs? Oh, those are for other people; I'm saving the environment. Speed limits? Oh, those are for other people; I'm saving the environment. Oh, was that a yield sign? Those are for other people....

Evilwrench:
I have had my Smart for 16 months. I love it. A normal sized human being (I'm 6'1") can ride comfortably in it. It does have a fair amount of storage behind the seats. I will admit, however, that when I carry my Brown Bess, I do have to fold the passenger seat and carry it front to back.
It still cracks me up when I am asked if it is one of those 'battery cars', while I am pumping gas. And yes, by looking at the cars driven by those asking that "Here's your sign" question, it is generally asked by Obama voters. Whodathunkit?

We need Auto Insurance reform.

In other words, they're all for 'taking responsibility' with their driving habits when it comes to things like the earth's climate. When it comes to actually driving properly to begin with, meh, not so much.

Michelle.. Shopping bags are for "kept women". Women who drive hybrids have much better things to do with their time... Like watching Rachel Maddow, or seeking a sperm donation via turkey baster.

The prius makes a larger "carbon footprint" to build than an H-2. Its the mining of the battery compounds. My 98 suburban gets 19.5 mpg.in the city .
I'll take the burb in an intersection altercation any day.
Thats a wreck for you libs.
