The Banking Queen
In case you missed Bonnie Fwank's triumphant return to the O'Reilly show this evening, here's a live performance of him explaining how he helped cause the financial meltdown:

I don't know how many times I've heard that song but it still cracks me up every time I hear it.

What a tweat!
For a more serious, but concise & accurate, piece on the financial crisis, you might want to go to www.cashill.com (Whose "Irresponsibility"...). Great site--better writer.
To Brandon, Toast'd n' WellStoned, anonypuss, and any other lib who wants to ignore 'Bawney and Fwends' and the ACORN nuts, this old well-worn video is still the best. Enjoy, relax your sphincter, and give us your best rationalization.

So many are to blame.
People who paid overinflated prices for houses because they thought they could milk it for profit in a few years; getting into bidding wars.
Real Estate agents who sought to maximize their cut - commissions are a percentage of the selling price.
Real Estate appraisers, working with agents, inflated the values even more.
Congress who created and fed the 2 headed beast known as Freddie and Fannie (Fannie is Franks pet name given to him by his lover). They were supposed to provide "oversight". Instead they intimidated banks to lend to anyone, providing Fannie and Freddie as a dumping ground for mortgages. Without them banks would never have taken such extreme risks. The few who did stand up and raise concerns (like McCain) or Bush (who called for reforms of Fannie and Freddie, did not use the power of their office to force the issue. Congress as a whole loved the extra tax revenues from profits on sales and income taxes from mortgage related activities - its why nothing ever happened until it was too late.
A small segment of banking executives who saw the opportunity to game the system, with the encouragement of many in Congress who felt everyone should "own" their own home whether they could afford it or not. The vast majority of bank executives outside the mortgage biz did their jobs and didnt get involved, but all are now demonized.
Will all these new bodies and rules change anything? The more laws and regulations we have the worse things seem to get.
Vote against everyone November 2010 - sadly some good people will have to go, but all career politicians need to be sent packing.

Someone on the news reminded me yesterday....Bonnie used to run a gay prostitution ring from his basement! Why should a guy like that still be in congress? Shouldn't he be in jail? For that matter, shouldn't Ted Kennedy be in jail?

Barney Frank is a sick twisted lying piece of shit. I cannot understand for the life of me why he's still in office. Are the folks in Massachuetts that stupid? If so, God help us all.
Ghost of Grover Cleveland made a good point about the housing debacle and who's to blame.
In my neighborhood in So Cal, it's equally dismal. I'm starting to see rents go down, something I thought I'd never see here.
We have several McMansion's in my block that have been empty for over 2 years. They are so close together that if you fart your neighbor will hear you. They were built in 2006 and one is still standing unfinished, just a vacant lot. The developer didn't have the money to finish it. One of the McMansion's have went down in price 50%.
The owners and developers park their car there so people think they're occupied. I know better, I walk by there every night when I do my nightly walks. The lights are on timers so it appears they're occupied.
Realtors are scum as well. I've called about a couple of places out of state and because the prices of the properties were too low the realtors either didn't want to call me back because they wouldn't make that much profit (ie) their commission.
Typical realtor scum in So Cal is a washed up middle aged woman with bleached blond hair, always drives a Mercedes or Lexus and are condescending bitches. Yep, you bitches helped this debacle along as well. You certainly loved the gravy train of high commissions on houses you knew damn well those folks couldn't afford. Rot in hell.
I agree vote all the pricks out in 2010, we need to thin the herd.

Janet, your description of the "typical SoCal realtor" is spot on!
I present the realtor who sold us our home a few years ago: Riki Strandfelt.

Ghost of Grover Cleveland and Janet...
You're both right on, however, I wouldn't vote out 'everyone'. Watch the short video I posted earlier (listed again below) and see a 'few good men' we need to keep in office.

Janet >>Barney Frank is a sick twisted lying piece of shit.
You could have stopped there and been 100% accurate. The rest is just gravy - did I mention I like gravy.
Well said.
