Over $1 Trillion to Cover One Third of Uninsured
As the iceberg of socialized medicine comes closer to our hull, it becomes increasingly obvious that for any purpose other than bankrupting our country, it simply will not work:
Last evening, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its first cost-estimate for one of the emerging Democratic bills — the Kennedy-Dodd bill that the Senate HELP Committee is planning to take up this week.
As Yuval [Levin] has already noted, CBO finds that the bill, in its incomplete draft form, would cost a lot — more than $1 trillion — and cover a relatively small portion of the uninsured (about one-third).
As for Dear Leader's gracious promise that we will be permitted to keep our own insurance…
The CBO cost estimate also makes it clear that the president's repeated statement that Americans will get to keep the health insurance they have today is simply not true. CBO projects that some 15 million people would get pushed out of their job-based plans and into the so-called "gateways" run by the states. That number will go much higher when the bill includes the promised "government option."
If the Marxist punk in the White House and his media enablers are able to ram nationalized healthcare through, their work will be essentially finished. The American economy will never recover.

Obama is trying to figure out if there's a way to fire the CBO and replace them with cronies... like he did with the Inspector General of AmeriConjob.

That the downpayment of $600 billion is now $1 trillion and that is actually (with Medicaid) $1.6 trillion and we still don't cover everyone?
Or that we spend $1 trillion to only cover 16 million more?
Or that age 27 is still just a kid? (okay, that is plausible... but not with the IRS)
Or that a family with an income in the highest federal pay grade, a GS 15 , or a federal administrative law judge is poor enough to require a subsidy here.
Or maybe it is the wonderful way it controls costs. You might want to check my math on this but here is how I see it.
Some 15 million Americans covered today by their employer would be covered by the government in 2019.
At @$6,000 per enrollee, that works out to roughly $90 billion in spending in 2019,
By moving those 15 million out of private insurance, the government "picks up" $48 billion in revenues from no longer having employer provided benefits tax freed.
So here is how Uncle Sam save money in health care, we spend $90 billion to get tax savings of $48 billion and not cover a single person more. For $42 billion a year, we shift 15 million individual out of private coverage onto government coverage....
This is exactly the way the federal government saves money with Amtrak, GM, student loans, ag loans, crop insurance....

Obama is dangling the chains of slavery above us disguised as nationalized health care. There is no denying that once these shackles are securely in place "the government" will be able to control every aspect of our lives.
Oh yeah, after a while don't even think about complaining or you might get a visit from the Obama green shirts... just to acquaint you with the new order.
This creating a country only the totalitarian ruling class will want to live sure is fun, isn't it?

I have a better idea: just GIVE US the money and let us pay our own damn medical bills!
Oh wait, WHERE is the money coming from? I know: Hopey McChange is going to say "Hey Rocky! watch me pull a trillion out of my @$$!"
(If you don't get the refrence, don't worry)
