Awesome! Sums up green energy nicely!

More like sums up the cap and tax bill the democrickets just passed.

It's amazing that such an excellent composite structure as those blades can still fail. My understanding is that the blade diameter is so large that the tips can approach supersonic speed in windy conditions. The mounting shock wave sets up a flutter resonance that breaks the blade. In this case the tower collapsed because of the sudden imbalance, of course.

LOL! Someone screwed up! Any windmill - even the one's used to pump water rather than produce power - is supposed to have the blades 'locked' in windy/stormy conditions.

Where did that happen?

Crit Zer0

Looks like it happened in Denmark.
Used Bing and it popped right up.

Wonder how people are going to handle the loud noises that are produce from wind farms.

Dip shit environazis are swapping one pollution for another.

Posted by: Dave at June 28, 2009 5:47 PM

T.Boone Pickens found out the hard way that windmills are not worth the investment.

So what is it the congressional liberals are getting from Cap and Trade?
(1) The congress does not understand the science since there isn't any prevailing theory, there's no consensus on the scraps out there and the junk that has been done is either inconclusive or wrong.
(2) Liberals have no obvious ideology or principles that could drive them to a moral imperative to save the planet in any serious way---they simply don't have a great concern for the human condition outside of the relentless pursuit of power.
(3) With congressmen doing irrational things, you usually follow the dollar to find out what the reason is for their behavior. But here, there are too many congressional votes for all of the members to be directly and personally benefiting financially from this (I think).
(4)Its unlikely that the congress are all this stupid, although I'm sure the average IQ is about what would be expected at a State Colony For the Feebleminded

So it has to be concluded that Cap and Trade is a way that liberals are using the green movement to ruin the U.S. economy.

This is treason and impeachment proceedings are in order. The despicable 8 need to go.

The problem with all this CO2 causing global warming based on computer models nonsense is that there is no way to determine how much of an impact it would have. The 90s computer models did not predict the leveling off of global temps in this decade, nor the decline over the last couple of years. Ive even heard some computer models are now saying no increase until 2020 or 2030 then it will rise sharply. Problem with modeling a chaotic system like the Earths climate is that it is unpredictable. And how would you know what part of any increase or decrease is due to lower CO2 levels? Providing they would actually fall globally (assuming countries like China, India or the developing world would not cheat - but you KNOW they will!)

The whole cap and tax system is a way for insiders like Al Gore, GE and the government to tax everyone without calling it a tax. When utility bills soar people will whine and complain as they keep voting for the same loons who are taxing them into poverty. These insiders dont care if prices for energy go up causing inflation - they are rich. The whole thing is very Orwellian.

Clean production of electricity, as well as a drop in the use of 'dirty' sources is not really a sin, the force feeding of these by the government in the interest of 'climate influence' is. America will find a way to survive and there will be a shift in understanding. Just be ready to weather the storm.

The trouble with these computer models is the one who operates the computer and especialy if the operator is a radical fanatic like AL GORE,PAUL EHRLICH,DAVID SUZUKI, and various other eco-wacko

They built these things all over Britian. It was great for my husband's cousin as he leased out some of his land for 99 years to build four windmills on his farm and retired. Neighbors closer to the windmills were force to sell thier home as the noise drove the missus crazy (not literally). Some people are not bothered by the noise but others are more sensitive and find it impossible to live near them. They are also ugly and along with the unattractive power lines now strung all over the rural countryside to carry the electricty they have ruined the scenery, not to mention thousands of migratory birds perish each year in the blades. And they are also inefficient government subsidized electricity producers which cost more to operate than traditional power plants when you compute KWH costs. Liberal idiocy bringing us noise polution, everonmental destruction, dead birds, and high utility bills, just what Congress and Obama plan for us.

Eric........

Any right thinking individual would welcome any effective and clean source of renewable energy. I mean, who hates a tree? Solar power is so underused it's sad, and we've had nearly fifty years to work on it. You're absolutely right--the feds are going to shove it down our throats as well as up......anyway, the left is getting Chris Matthews 'tingles' thinking it's going to run the great steel mills they think will come back someday, when in fact it's a second grade supply meaning it will do a lot of 'filling in'. Your reference to a boat in some other entry leads me to believe you know how effective it is on the water. One of my best friends was the silo manager of Lockheeed's Starwars missile. He goes all over the world and was describing NASA's 'roll-out, solar carpet'. When you need energy you roll out the carpet covered with the latest photovoltaics. I'd like to come up with an USV--Ultra Survival Vehicle--which is basically an all-terrain electric-powered vehicle, with a thin 50' roll-out solar carpet. The go anywhere-anytime vehicle. The towering windmills here in Wa. state are huge and ugly but they're helping out until the real thing comes along. I've been chatting hydrogen for 35 years and they're finally getting to it. You might want to go to EMC2fusion.com for what I believe will eventually be the next great breakthrough. That will be what rotorless hovercraft will be using in cities before this century is out(I'm guessing 2050). Hope the dems don't get us fried first.

Hydrogen is not a fuel, it is an energy storage medium with some pretty nasty losses and storage considerations .

BUT !!
Recent developements in ethanol production allow one ( but not you or me of course) to burn cash to boil the mash . Thereby negating any losses inherent in the system .
