Gay Vegan - an oxymoron if there ever was one

Posted by: eat me at June 24, 2009 9:59 AM

What a great pic! No numbers pulled from the vegan. I could never be friends with one. There's no "hey, wanna go out for a pizza and beer?" Everything is a big drama-queen fest.

Another topic: You guys know that the Cap n Trade (Tax n Kill) vote is scheduled for Friday, right? Do what you can, I know they're ignoring us. I popped into Kostard's Kave to see what they're saying. Someone ran a poll, asking how crucial AGW was to them. The results were not what they expected and heads started to explode.

500 American workers lose jobs as the Teleprompter Messiah signs anti-tobacco legislation. Which is not even a drop in the bucket compared to how many jobs will be lost after Crap and Trade is passed.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 24, 2009 11:15 AM

More proof that dissent ceased to be patriotic on 1.20.2009. Hollywood is miffed that the new Transformers movie may somehow be taken as mildly critical of the Teleprompter Messiah. But criticizing the president was courageous when the (crappy) movies Rendition, Redacted, Lions for Lambs, In the Valley of Elah, and Stop Loss came out.

Posted by: Karin at June 24, 2009 12:25 PM

I am not sure why vegans got the stereotype of being some kind of pussy wimps, but it is not true. I know a few who are ferocious bastards who would as soon kill something as look at it. They can be such conservative and kill-them-all-let-God-sort-them-out radical right wing nuts it is hard to listen to them. The concept of eating or not eating meat or meat products has nothing to do with sexual orientation, political slant, or even sanity. It is just what somebody eats and nothing more and nothing less.

Remarks about vegans in some places like we are hearing lately can get you killed or beaten to death if made in the wrong place.

I was getting my car fixed once in Norman Ok and decided to walk over to a little hideaway off campus that makes a killer breakfast. I was at the counter and a couple came in and sat at the table behind me. I could tell they were liberal enlightened students from their discussion. When it came time to order the young lady made a big show of her repulsion for meat. So she ordered eggs. I sort of chuckled thinking that an egg is really just meat on its way to becoming a chicken.

Liberals have no moral talking points whatsoever concerning someone else's behavior after they banded together as a block supporting Pervert-in-Chief Clinton when he was caught using his position of power to infiltrate The Big Lewinski's dental work.
Meanwhile Barney Frank continues to ruin the country's economy while prancing around in a skirt (metaphorically speaking).

And yet they never miss a beat when it comes to the contretemps of an occasional republican, real or MSM-generated.
Having said that, it would be nice if Republicans would watch what they're doing. The liberals sure are.

The climate change e-mails EPA doesn’t want you to see

http://michellemalkin.com/2009/06/24/the-climate-change-e-mails-epa-doesnt-want-you-to-see/

CEI is submitting a set of four EPA emails, dated March 12-17, 2009, which indicate that a significant internal critique of EPA’s position on Endangerment was essentially put under wraps and concealed. The study was barred from being circulated within EPA, it was never disclosed to the public, and it was not placed in the docket of this proceeding. The emails further show that the study was treated in this manner not because of any problem with its quality, but for political reasons.

Ok, we can all agree Sanford was wrong. Yet, the Republican hypocrisy is astonishing. Family Values my ass. I am certain though, we can all laugh at the emails he exchanged with his Argentinian Mistress that the State.com recovered. Here is an excerpt
"You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night’s light - but hey, that would be going into sexual details ..."

While his political ambitions are bleak at best, he may achieve a career in Romance Novels. Lol.

V, what was your opinion here when Spitzer was caught? or Edwards? or Clinton? It is news because as a sitting Governor he vanished. I do feel horribly for his family, certainly his boys who spent Father's Day without ice cream. The fact that Republicans tout "family values" like a robot in every campaign, including Sanford, who also voted to impeach Clinton, and later said he should resign is also news. When you shove values down someone's throat, and don't adhere to them, you are a hypocrite! Here he is in 1998 on CNN
"The bottom line, though, is he still lied. He lied under a different oath, and that is the oath to his wife. So it’s got to be taken very, very seriously.”
But, C'mon, lighten up the e-mails are funny!

"The libs try to berate conservatives and Republicans when they screw up, Foley, Duke Cunningham, now Sanford.... but our side condemns them as well... the liberals embrace their perverts and criminals and circle the wagons to protect them."

I wouldn't say the libs embrace their perverts but perhaps accept more than just the missionary position 3 times a month as acceptable sexual behavior ( and VtheK?... talk about perverts?) but I would say conservatives are very good at hypocrisy

...I often wonder if it has something to do with their belief being forgiven by their God any time they do that special beseeching/begging thing on their knees just right. Like, clear the slate and move on to the next sin...

When will you-all admit your human ...just like the rest of the people on this planet and not exceptional in any way. Period.

Posted by: Fez at June 24, 2009 7:55 PM

When caught, Sanford did not lie ("I did not have sex with..."). Republicans (and the MSM) are not putting the wagons into a circle declaring 'only sex', 'private matter' and that sort of indignant smoke screen. His political career is rightfully over.

However, when the Slick one was caught dead to rights carrying on with an intern (sexual harassment anyone?), and the months of lies, covering up, it didn't put a dent in 'the most ethical Administration', in the eyes of the left wing hacks, those that were and are the surviving spirit (ghost, if you will) of one of the most infamous liars, Goebbels.

Posted by: Viking04 at June 24, 2009 7:55 PM

Ok, Viking,I'll give you that, well put. I personally was not a huge fan of Clinton, yet thought he was ok. I am not big on who a politician is sleeping with, I don't really care, but when "values" are shoved in voters faces like Sanford, Edwards, Vitter,Craig...the list goes on, then I have a problem. Again, nobody sees the humor his e-mails at State.com? C'mon! Further, I must add, when President, Clinton did not abandon his post.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 24, 2009 8:03 PM

Edwards? John Edwards, or Edward Kennedy? You don't have an arguement here. When exactly was a family values card played? 80s? Meanwhile, your race card gets played ad nauseum until it loses any robustness and turns on you.

After all, what could be worse than a forgiving God? One who knows the difference between a flippant and a contrite heart?

The real way to do it is to glorify your sin, throw it in everyone's face, parade it on the street, and be proud of it.

Posted by: MGB at June 24, 2009 8:41 PM

The "hypocrisy" meme is just an ongoing excuse by those on the left to attack and destroy people of opposing political views who make personal mistakes or have moments of human weakness.

The inevitable followup to the bellowing about hypocrisy is to stop by places like this and do a ginormous guilt-by-association routine in which, somehow, people who have similar political beliefs with the person who made a personal error in judgment are then somehow responsible or their beliefs somehow invalidated by others' mistakes.

I'll grant that the left has indeed been effective in destroying a very large number of opponents, as well as left many conservatives trying to figure out how to respond to a slander of an entire ideological system based on a handful of indiviudals' actions.

I for one won't bother apologizing for or minimizing the stunning moral and character lapses of people like Stanford; what he did speaks for itself. I do hope that the Democrats' strategy of total scorched-earth destruction of opponents and opposing ideologies meets with its day of reckoning before this country is ruined.

A reasonable question was asked, so an answer. Honestly, the 'post abandonment' is a bit of a stretch. He is a governor, not part of the National Command Authority. In the event of a disaster, the Lt. Gov. could have acted. The SCARNG could have been ordered to State Duty, or to Federal Duty, in his absence. He got caught with his pants down (take it either way). His political career is over. His Reserve career is probably over as well. He will be a pariah, regardless of his seeming bright future. As a father, the thing that enrages me about the weekend was that he skipped out over Father's Day to visit. I expect him to start growing a beard, because I don't know how he could look himself in the face on a daily basis for the foreseeable future.

ABC, Exemplar of the Media that Once Was

The Constitutional guaranty of freedom of speech is contained in the First Amendment and is but one of six guarantees spelled out in that amendment. The section relating to free speech is actually limited to 10 words, “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech.”

As with most rights, free speech has limitations and those limits go far beyond the old example of yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theater when there is no fire, a very reasonable restriction.

However, it’s worth remembering that the First Amendment and, indeed, the Constitution itself relates to the government “abridging” free speech, also called censorship. The non-governmental private sector suffers from no comparable inhibitions when it comes to such abridgement although voluntary censorship is common. That becomes bias, for example, with the media.

If and when government censorship becomes so intertwined with media bias that they are indistinguishable, with a supposedly independent media acting as government surrogates, we then have a state-run media for all intents and purposes.

In large part, that is what America has deteriorated into today, and it’s far from a healthy situation in our former free democratic republic.

That is the precise situation on June 24th, 2009 with the extended inf0mercial being staged by ABC, an allegedly independent media outlet telecasting “news” from within the United States’ executive mansion, the White House, promoting a government plan for “health care reform” while denying any dissent or opposition.

What was that comment Obama made about “transparency?”

Adolph Hitler, Joe Stalin, or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad couldn’t be . . .

Mega, Karin, and Viking... well said, all of you. I can't add anything. Just because a man falls short of an ideal doesn't mean the ideal isn't worth upholding.

At least on the right, this sort of thing is a career ender. Unlike on the left where it's a resume enhancer. Both front-runners on the Social-Democrat side for governor of California are admitted adulterers and at least one has a substance abuse problem. And they dare attack us on values?

Oh, yeah, they can do that because there's no "hypocrisy," because they don't really believe in that commitment thing.

Posted by: V the K at June 25, 2009 2:35 AM

Anyway, on any reasonable scale of political scandal, a southern governor's adultery ought to rate maybe a 3 or 4 on a 10 point scale. A president who fires Inspectors General to cover up the corruption of himself and his cronies ought to rate a solid 9. But once again, the wagons are circled.

Funny how liberals mock "Family values." It used to be like their stance on the war "I support the troops, but not the war" a thin veil they used to protect themselves from scorn. They claimed they didn't like the Republicans telling people how to live, but I guess that rings hollow after years of trying to tell people what they should eat, what they should drive, attempting to strip people of rights guaranteed to them in the Constitution, telling people what temperature your house should be kept - the veil has long since slipped : "evil Christians" do more bad than good, the family unit isn't THAT great, A child doesn't need a father! homosexuals are better to adopt children than their family members, the list goes on and on.
Liberals are complete amoral douche bags who celebrate any perversity, and put deviant behavior on a pedal-stool to be admired by their ilk, while claiming any criticism of it is 'bigotry.'
