It is clear many on the right adore Newt Gingrich, but what do you think of his "Newttalk", where Sonia Sotmayor went from being a racist to a racialist. Or when he said "I am not a citizen of the world. I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous."a shot at President Obama for stating "a citizen -- a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world."Yet he ignores that in 1982 Ronald Reagan stated "I speak today as both a citizen of the United States and of the world."If Newt throws his hat in the ring in 2012, I gotta say, have fun with that...

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 9, 2009 10:35 AM

If Mr. Gingrich was using the word "racialist" incorrectly, then so was my freshman anthropology professor.

As for Reagan, he never gave any cause to doubt his patriotism, or to doubt his belief in American exceptionalism. It's quite a bit different than Obama's apparent belief that America was a horrible country up until 01.20.2009, hence the need for him to apologize for America's past misdemeanors to audiences of thugs and tyrants.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 9, 2009 10:41 AM

Casper, first off.. Newt is not "adored" but those of us, especially as of late. Newt is a strong voice for conservatism in a lot of aspects, but he's gone on the Green Bandwagon (which you should be happy for since you libs wanna bring us back to the technology of the Bronze Age) and a lot of us with common sense know it's all just a scam.

As for Reagan, he was addressing the specter of Communism in Soviet Russia, and I believe with saying that he did not berate America as Chairman Zero has done. As a matter of fact, NRO has the entire speech which you libs leave out.. P.O.S.

I think Wells-toned is projecting. Adoration is what the left does when it projects halos around their Dear Leader (a.k.a "Sort of God").

The Right is about ideas. It's the left that gets into Cults of Personality.

Obama administration knows better than you, plans on saving us from ourselves.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=104803094

Using Psychology To Save You From Yourself

Sunstein is just one of a number of high-level appointees now working in the Obama administration...

All are devotees of behavioral economics — a school of economic thought greatly influenced by psychological research — which argues that the human animal is hard-wired to make errors when it comes to decision-making, and therefore people need a little "nudge" to make decisions that are in their own best interests.

And that is exactly what Obama administration officials plan to do: By taking account of human psychology, they hope to save you from yourself.

If you read the article you'll also learn that Obama's economists believe that all previous economic theory is wrong because it didn't take into account your ignorance of how they think you see things and you don't make the decisions they think you should make. This is the height of arrogance. I never thought I'd live to see the day.

Posted by: Kevin R at June 9, 2009 11:32 AM

It's not "healthcare reform," of course -- it's "healthcare rationing" if Obambi and his nit-wits get ahold of our physical beings by establishing government-run medical care.

Rationing, by its very nature, means some get but most do not -- resulting in not just longer lines (think it's bad at the P.O. when you mail a package these days? To quote Al Jolson: "You ain't seen nothin' yet!"), longer waits and less availability of life-saving technologies; it means YOU DIE, and the elites on the rationing politburo won't give a damn (in fact, they and their lefty compatriots will celebrate your demise -- one more environment-destroyer turned into fertilizer or food for much more important life-forms, like weeds, slugs and sewer rats) . . .

Posted by: jc14 at June 9, 2009 11:34 AM

That should be:

...because it didn't take into account your ignorance of how they think you should see things...

From Reagan's speech:

",..He said to those who challenge the truth of those words, let me point out, at the end of World War II, we were the only undamaged industrial power in the world. Our military supremacy was unquestioned. We had harnessed the atom and had the ability to unleash its destructive force anywhere in the world. In short, we could have achieved world domination, but that was contrary to the character of our people. Instead, we wrote a new chapter in the history of mankind. "

Wait a minute. He's obviously right, because we didn't,.. but America is an imperialist aggressor, so I ,.. don't understand,...Ow, my brain,...

Anyway, Mr. Wellstone, Reagan addressed the assembly that day specifically as a world citizen on the point(s) he was trying to make about nuclear war and how it was, obviously, a problem for the world and not just certain governments. He was making it clear that America was not in it's own box on this issue, and not attempting to imply that this is how he thought of himself all of the time.

It was, however, a better try than usual on your part.

Frankly, I wouldn't respect the leader of any country whether they are democratically elected or not, who didn't think of his own country first. This is the job of a national leader.

While that doesn't mean you ignore the problems of others, it does mean that you take care of you and yours. People without money, freedom, or resources are less able to take care of themselves and therefore necessarily a lot less capable of helping others.

Him, I have read the speech, and get it. However, designating Fox News as an authority on Barack Obama's "apology tour" is mindless. Reagan had it right, and Obama has it right. Repairing and consistently working with our allies is a must. We can get into semantics if you wish, but while our country is admired in so many ways, we share adversaries with many. We are proud American citizens whom disagree, yet we are also world citizens. As for Gregory's nonsense of adoration only being on the left, I gotta say your a half-wit. The difference is when Newt's indiscretion came to light the man stepped down from his position of authority. When Clinton's indiscretion came to light, he lied to a grand jury about it and the media ran interference by trying to ignore that fact and framed it as a private marital issue between him and Mrs. Clinton, also he kept his position and served out his term.

Very true. Ask Gerry Studds and Sam Adams what happens to Democrats who molest underage boys. (Answer: Multiple re-elections and career advancement.)

Posted by: V the K at June 9, 2009 1:59 PM

V the K I don't know who Gerry Studds is, but the Sam Adams reference disingenuous at best. The story came to light after his first election as Mayor several months ago, and even though the kid is older than the age of consent, it has been a very controversial topic that is continuously in the local papers, and the Oregonian called for his resignation.

No re-election. No career advancement. The guy lost support of many of the people who helped him get elected. And the last media report on the subject, according to google news, was 57 minutes ago in an article reporting that an effort to recall the mayor is gaining momentum.

If a liberal came to this site and made such a false claim, they would be insulted, called a liar, and said to be an example of how all liberals work.

Even though I don't agree with you much of the time, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you made a mistake.

Brandon: To those who think there are irreconcilable differences between muslims and the west, what do we do about this problem? Try to kill them all?

No we try and kill the ones who are trying to kill us.

Ghost of Wellstone:

I don't site anyone as an authority on Obama. Frankly, I don't think anyone is. The guys a cypher. Obama having it right is an opinion of course, and you're welcome to it. However, his speech in Egypt was irrational in that it was a twisted perversion of history which basically said that Muslims are right to hate us. That's not true, and not looking out for your country first.

The simple message should be that yes, we have had and continue to have vast differences but that world leaders cannot accept and condone acts of violence as a means of solving those differences.

We will talk, where talking is appropriate, and fight where fighting is appropriate. Muslim terrorists, if nothing else, respect strength. Unlike many of us, they have made the distinction that we are the enemy. We have to do the same, whether we like it or not.

Obama, unfortunately, does not send the message that we are willing to do what it takes to defend ourselves or our allies. In fact, he isn't putting on a very nice face to our traditional allies which is baffling after watching him during the election.

Posted by: The Him at June 9, 2009 2:41 PM

Gerry Studds admitted to sex with an underage male page and was returned to office nine times by the voters of Massachusetts.

As for Sam Adams, there's ample suspicion that the dude in question was underage at the time, and there are likely more. But, the point is, he still has the support of gays and progressives, he hasn't resigned.

Oh, and, surprise surprise, here's a sympathetic press treatment from the Portland Oregonian.

Looks like the media PR machine is rallying around the chickenhawk.

Unicorn, now that really added something to the debate. What in President Obama's speech was irrational? No need for any Fox talking points cause I have either read the transcripts or heard it. Further, Obama like Reagan is using a world platform to say, America is not the country it has been portrayed as, and certainly not what was mocked by Bush and Cheney. You can choose to have selective memories on the good efforts of Presidents Reagan and Clinton, and selective hearing on President Obama but the similarities are there between the three of them. You also have to notice that the Cedar Revolution is a pro-western group in the Middle East and has defeated Hezbollah. Under Bush, the conflicts generated votes for an Iranian backed group which participated in terrorist acts, under Obama a pro-western party wins. Hum, seems like a different approach to the War on Terror is working.

As far as the GOP aide and his wannabe Panda Love, you fail to recognize who the party who trots out Family Values and yet has it's members continually gets caught in bizarre sexual encounters...Larry Craig in a restroom, David Vitter allegedly wearing diapers while with a prostitute, Mark Foley's intimate text messages to a couple pages, Mayor Phillip Giordano serving 37 years for molesting 8-10 year old girl, Lawrence E. King who organized child sex parties in the 80's at the White House...Family Values? Give me a break! At least with the left, we move on after our indiscretions and don't live lies and preach values we don't cherish!

ECCONOMICS TEST:
"You find out that you are $50 over-drawn on your checking account. It's too late to stop payment on the check, what do you do?"
CONSERVATIVE: Withdraw $60 from my savings account to cover the balance and keep the account active. Spend less on luxuries untill the next payday.
LIBERAL: Borrow $60 from mom and dad, they know I'm good for it. Ask boss for a "cost of living" raise.
MOONBAT: How can I be over-drawn? I still have five checks left!

Posted by: KHarn at June 9, 2009 5:11 PM

As I am off to do something, I might (or might not) bother to come back and write what would be a lengthy factual account of the problems with the facts in Obama's speech, and the cedar revolution.

We can sit here all day and throw names of perverts out from both parties, but the fact is there are good and bad people in any type of group. You saying outright that you don't preach values you don't cherish is a joke. You don't cherish any values. I'd rather fail than not even try.

This is my problem with the Liberal "thought process". It can't be properly debated because it has no root, no core to debate from in the first place. It's random. The purpose is to confuse the undecided long enough for the bad guys to get over the wall.

Republicans are certainly not always right, and politicians in general are not to be trusted, but I'll throw my lot in with them over the Lib's any day. At least I know if the battle ever went beyond rhetorical the guy next to me wouldn't be endlessly babbling meaningless rationale instead of firing his weapon.

Basically, what I'm getting from Ghost of Flintstone is that it's OK to have perverted scumbags in your party, so long as you aren't hypocritical about it. I suppose the simplest solution for the GOP would be for them to stop saying that child molestation, for example, is wrong. Saying so reeks of "family values" preaching. After all, a couple of obscure Republicans have been child molesters. They should just "move on" after their "indiscretions."

See, Ghost, what you fail to understand is that every case you listed wasn't some Republican simply doing something immoral. What they did was ILLEGAL, and your side believes that too (unless I missed a memo and child molestation or patronizing prostitutes are in the Democrat platform). So if we can find Democrats that have committed similar crimes (and, frankly, what are the odds?), I can make the exact same argument on YOU.

Don't try to play the hypocrisy card. You don't have a winning hand in that.

The difference is that we don't defend them; your lot do. Barney Frank got a standing ovation from the House when he first returned there after it was revealed that his fruit playmate was running a homosexual prostitution ring from Frank's basement.

"Congressman Barney Frank (Democrat) - In 1985, he engaged the "services" of gay prostitute Stephen Gobie, who advertised in the Washington Gay Blade that he had a "hot bottom." Soon Gobie was Frank's live-in boyfriend, and Frank was soliciting the House clerk to clear Gobie's many traffic tickets. Gobie was running his prostitution business, clear as the day, out of Frank's Washington, DC residence.

He [Frank] and Gobie carried on a clandestine affair, during which time Frank hired Gobie as a driver despite knowing Gobie was on probation for drug possession and for possession of child pornography. Frank used his House privileges to fix Gobie's parking tickets. He wrote a memo trying to clear Gobie from probation that was disingenuous at best and an outright deception at worst.

Reagan had it right, and Obama has it right. Repairing and consistently working with our allies is a must.

Is that why Obama pisses off Britain on every occasion he possibly can?

Oh, and by the way, in case you missed it, unfavorable opinions of America among Iranians are five percentage points higher since February.

Are you able to list Obama's achievements so far in repairing (sic) and working with America's allies?

To compare Obama's level of support by the left, with that of Reagan by the right, Obama's achievements would have to, of course, be commensurate with Reagan's -- what is it that Obama has done that was equivalent to negotiating the reunification of Germany and the collapse of communism?

Last time I checked, all he's done so far is been elected while half black, pissed off the UK, increased the national debt (that Democrats previously claimed was a cause for concern under Bush II) through the roof, tipped a bunch of money down the drain into zombie auto manufacturers, and made people not want to work in the finance sector any more. Oh, and moved toward nationalizing the tobacco industry, of course.

Perhaps you can enlighten us as to how these achievements measure up to Reagan's, to justify the comparison between their relative levels of support on the right and left?

As for Gregory's nonsense of adoration only being on the left, I gotta say your a half-wit. Leaders in both parties have earned the admiration from American people. From Kennedy(s), Reagan, and Obama.

Reagan is beloved by the right for his accomplishments. Obama is beloved by the left despite his lack of accomplishments. Do the fricking math yourself, moron.

And, as far as I am aware, no right-leaning magazine editor has yet to appear on national television and refer to Reagan as "sort of God," to cite only one of the most prominent recent examples of leftist personality worship for Obama -- despite Reagan having actual accomplishments to his name.

We have current members of Congress who have stood up and earned the positions like Dennis Kucinich, or Newt for that matter. However, like Newt, many of you have the same double standard he does.

Point taken. Leftists are willing to afford Kucinich respect (and continued political support) despite his bankrupting Cleveland in the name of some nebulous cause (keeping electricity prices from rising with inflation apparently will stop people being poor, or something), has achieved precisely nothing in Congress, and abandons ship whenever he decides to run for president...

I still hear nonsense about President Clinton's indiscretions, but not a peep about Newt's. Gingrich's was a bit more absurd by the way!

Please, do enlighten us as to what it was Newt did that was comparable to lobbing missiles onto an aspirin factory in Somalia while getting a blow job in the Oval Office and lying about it.

Ghost of Wellstone, I never said I want to debate you. I could careless what your opinions are. I just told you to shut the F#@& up. You just make noise like a common brain dead liberal, and your thoughts are hardly worthy of the time to entertain or much less listen to. Your distorted points of view are of no interest to me or for that matter any one with an I.Q. above 75.

If Newt throws his hat in the ring in 2012, I gotta say, have fun with that...

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 9, 2009 10:35 AM

Gotcha, thanks for the heads-up.

Concern trolling over a Republican, like Wellstoned has performed here, is a sure sign of who the Democrats are currently afraid of as a threat to their Messiah.

Exhibit A: Sarah Palin. Count the number of leftard posts on any forum that follow the pattern of "go ahead and nominate Sarah Palin for (XYZ position), good luck with that..."

They're still terrified of her - terrified. The contrived flippancy is a (poor) attempt at reverse psychology.

Demotard concern trolls, such as Wellstoned, are trying to erase from memory the fact that (according to pollsters) Palin added a huge amount of conservative votes to the Republican ticket last year, far more than McCain would have garnered had his VP candidate been a similarly squishy 'maverick' like himself. The left are scared of Palin like they haven't been scared of anyone in a long time - they know it, but (as usual) they're too stupid and/or arrogant to realise we know it too.

Wellstoned's current post (and I've seen plenty in the same vein around other forums) demonstrates that, right now, at least some of them fear Newt (possibly ahead of 2010 when fiscal conservatism is beginning to look like standing a big chance of clawing back power to the dreaded RethugliKKKans.)

So, Wellstoned, thanks again for the heads-up.

Cougar Couric: Nasty Is As Nasty Does

Pretty, perky Katie Couric, a tag coined by Rush Limbaugh, can also be a nasty, nattering nabobette.

Shown in her prime here, she not only must be having issues with aging, she also seems to be having issues with honesty caused by her collapsing ratings at CBS. No worries, though. She’s compensating by prowling and hypocritically lecturing on needless, “collegial nastiness.”

I know, I know! How can anyone criticize pretty, perky Katie? Well, I can because she’s eminently deserving.

Rescued from imminent oblivion by her hatchet job on Governor Sarah Palin last summer, Katie is slip, slip, slipping away in her incongruous role as anchorwoman of the “CBS Evening News,” a position demanding gravitas rather than perkiness but accorded her because, well, she’s pretty, perky Katie Couric.

Overachieving, being a walking, talking example of The Peter Principle, must weigh on a girl.

Whoopi Goldberg would have been a better scoop for CBS. Whoopi is scary but she would have souped up CBS’ Black demographic, would have delighted our president, and was as qualified as Katie, but what do I know.

Couric did gain some traction with her blindsiding interview of Palin when the governor was anticipating getting-to-know-you type questions or at least something less than a grilling. However, popular traction is ephemeral and she and the “CBS Evening News” are now wallowing in record low viewership, the lowest in Nielsen-recorded history: http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/evening_news_ratings/evening_news_ratings_week_of_june_1_118500.asp.

Helen Thomas, the D.C. dinosaur curmudgeon, felt Couric’s interview, “saved the country” but it didn’t save Katie for long. It also didn’t save the country from VP Joe-The-Mouth Biden. I’ve often wondered whether Senator John Edwards in 2004 could have answered probing questions on anything aside from his coiffure and marital fidelity or how Joe Lieberman would have responded to the query, ”Pick just one, Israel or the United States?”

Of course, Democrats never have to deal with probing questions and when they flub an answer they are granted do-overs by the mainstream media.

Invited to Princeton to address seniors at Class Day, Couric briefly, very briefly, joked about her new cougar role to the next generation of bankers, lawyers, pols, and tax cheats. She instructed the graduates to, “Rise above the collegial nastiness and instead . . . celebrate excellence,” and she trotted out the Obama mantra to give back since the Princetonians have been given so much.

I hate to hit Katie with stark reality, but her suggestion that the elite Ivy Leaguers give back in such forms of service as ”tutoring a child, working at a soup kitchen, driving an elderly neighbor to the grocery store” probably fell on ears almost as deaf as those which heard her berate acquisitiveness.

This is Obama-Nirvana time, the dawning of a new Age of Aquarius when people like Joe the Plumber will be expected to employ the unemployable and love being taxed for the privilege and stars such as Katie Couric are expected to share her reported $15 million salary with the hoi polloi.

As she said, ”Gordon Gecko from the movie ‘Wall Street’ was wrong . . . greed is not good. We can finally burn the bumper sticker that says: ‘he who dies with the most toys wins.’ “ That would depend on what kind of toys, no?

She also managed to inject her speechwriter’s snarky little nasties. She referenced Rush Limbaugh’s “prescription plan,” a dig at his oxycontin addiction, and took a shot at Miss California Carrie Prejean, to placate the ever-present gays on hand: “No one has done more to motivate gay rights activists since Anita Bryant.”

Just ask Perez Hilton who was motivated to the point of apoplexy: http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=975.

Special attention was devoted to Princeton grad and former Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld who “has been charged with guarding the Big Cannon. I don’t want to say he’s taking his job too far, but he’s reportedly been telling President Obama there are Weapons of Mass Destruction hidden at Rutgers.” If one of those missing WMD’s ends up near her New York City office, she may re-evaluate her dissing of Rumsfeld. And, maybe not.

Though Couric exulted in the accomplishments of women lately, her only allusion to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the first woman on a Republican national ticket and the woman who temporarily saved Katie’s butt with her lack of preparedness last September, wasn’t at all appreciative.

Instead, Lil Miss Perky resorted to derision: . . .

Wellstoned and Brandy may not like it that we criticize the Dear Leader and disagree with his policies, but we have every right to do so.

As one of their great progressive icons once screeched, "I am sick and tired of people (like Wellstoned and Brandy) who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration."

Not six months ago anyone who dared question Bush and his war on terror was told by one, if not all of you guys, to shut up and/or leave the country. Now, with Obama in office dissent is suddenly partriotic. HA, honsetly, I can't stop laughing at you.

V the k, is a friggin' part time, second rate pornographer, yet he rails against the "perversions" of people who actually have sex, instead of spending their time drooling and masturbating over pictures of topless women, whom he enthusiastically objectifies.

I would have an easier time giving leftists a bit of credit if they would concede a few self-evident truths:

1. Dear Leader Obama is lost at sea without a Teleprompter.

2. The media's fawning adoration of Dear Leader relieves them of any shred of credibility in discussing his policies.

3. Dear Leader's massive deficits are far, far worse than those of Bush, and deficits began exploding as soon as the Democrats took congress in 2007 after several years of reduction.

4. Dear Leader Obama's refusal to release is college transcripts strongly suggests that his academic performance was mediocre at best.

5. The media usa a distinct double standard when covering Republican scandals versus Democrat scandal; and Democrats largely do not hold their elected officials (Garry Studds, Charlie Rangel, Gavin Newsom) to the same standards that Republicans are held.

I want to do a blog post on 8 or 10 undeniable truths the left refuses to admit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 10, 2009 5:06 AM

"evil dumbo?"

This to you, "Anonymous," is a witty insult? I've been insulted in far worse ways than your 6th-grade namecalling, you illiterate Obama-drone. Sadly, you probably thought that was pretty clever when you were typing it. Come on, loser, if you're going to insult me, INSULT ME. Try for one time in your wasted life to say something witty.

In any case, I don't have to go back and look for anyone "hear" who said that. That's Crackhead's job. He made an argument, it is up to him to prove it.

Now shut up, punk. Grownups are talking.

who's smoking crack?

Based on your comment, I would have to say you.

Posted by: Evil Otto at June 10, 2009 5:08 AM

I do have to say Anon is right on at least two fronts:

1. You are dumb.
2. Clearly there is plenty of evidence to support my claim that the regular posters on this "blog" had very little tolerance for "dissent" only mere months ago. Suddenly, it's patriotic to question authority. It wasn't patriotic to question illegal wire-tapping, illegal torture, internment camps, lies justifying invasions of foreign countires, and complete disregard for the constitution.

Hard to believe that you think the wingnuts here were so tolerant of critique of their admin. If you didn't read it before, or can't remember, that's your problem. You'll just have to take my word for it. Yet it shouldn't be hard to confirm if you spend 10 minutes looking for it. I get the sense you don't really care though, and are just looking for a further excuse to lob hate-fuelled insults.

None of which actually happened, arguably. The premise of the statement is debatable at best.

No, I would rather see evidence. Frankly, the word of someone who brings nothing to a debate but insults and unsupported assertions is unpersuasive at best.

Anyway, back to the left's idea of humor: jokes about raping Sarah Palin's underage daughter.

Posted by: V the K at June 10, 2009 5:34 AM

No, V! You are my idea of humor!

I could show you evidence to support my claims all day. You still wouldn't believe it. You are a testimony to denial in the face of overwhelming facts. Your entire belief system is based on denying facts. Then you ask me to provide them for you??!!!! Why waste my time. Facts mean nothing to you. You're so far gone there is no saving you.

But you serve me well as a jester, and for that I am grateful.

I do have to say Anon is right on at least two fronts:

1. You are dumb.

Another witless insult. I'm "dumb." And why would that be, Crackhead? Because I dare to disagree with you and your fellow Kool-Aid drinkers?

Pathetic. That's the best you've got, apparently.

2. Clearly there is plenty of evidence to support my claim that the regular posters on this "blog" had very little tolerance for "dissent" only mere months ago.

You made a very specific claim. Provide evidence.

Suddenly, it's patriotic to question authority.

You leftist drones, for the last eight years, have told us that dissent was the highest form of patriotism. Suddenly, to you, it's NOT patriotic.

It wasn't patriotic to question illegal wire-tapping, illegal torture, internment camps, lies justifying invasions of foreign countires, and complete disregard for the constitution.

Again, you made the claim that "Not six months ago anyone who dared question Bush and his war on terror was told by one, if not all of you guys, to shut up and/or leave the country." You still have yet to provide even the slightest bit of evidence of this.

You have to show that at least one person here made that sort of statement. That shouldn't be too difficult... after all, there are thousands of comments, so you should find one if you dig hard enough. Then, you must prove the "if not all part of your statement. If you can prove a majority of those here said that I'll give you a pass.

Hard to believe that you think the wingnuts here were so tolerant of critique of their admin. If you didn't read it before, or can't remember, that's your problem.

Actually, Crackhead, I doubt very much that you were even reading this blog six months ago. You simply assume that that's what we "wingnuts" said, because, in your cliche-filled mind, that's the sort of thing that wingnuts say. You already have your incorrect assumption, and now you try to fit reality into it. Actually, worse, you want ME to do the work for you.

You'll just have to take my word for it.

Actually, I DON'T have to take your word for it. Or on anything. Your word is worth nothing to me.

The archives are on the left. Start digging.

Yet it shouldn't be hard to confirm if you spend 10 minutes looking for it.

Really? Then spend ten minutes looking for it. In a debate or discussion, the one who makes the claim is responsible for proving it. Get going.

I get the sense you don't really care though, and are just looking for a further excuse to lob hate-fuelled insults.

That's rich. You have just accused me of lobbing hate-filled insults. Sure thing, "wingnutcracker."

Aww, I struck a nerve with little mandible.

Not really. Just happened to have a little more spare time and energy than normal, and you seemed to be trolling moonbattery a little harder than normal, so thought I'd do troll-stomping duty for a bit.

Let me get this straight, you are willing to give a half-wit 9+ months to be attacked, screw things up in 8 years, and be known as a twit, and the other guy only gets 160-170 days?

Can you repeat that, but in English this time?

I'm a free-market conservative; Bush was far from a fiscal conservative but in eight years he did not manage to commit anywhere near the crimes against against basic free-market economics that Obama has pulled off in 160-170 days. So no, your leftist messiah does not get the same amount of time as Bush did.

As far as Congressman Kucinch, you don't want this fight. Bankrupting Cleveland, which was the decision of the banks because their Mayor stood on principle resulted in the Muni electric co. profiting and providing savings to the people of Cleveland.

Yeah, funny how bankruptcy protection works; turns out you end up not having to pay all those pesky debts you ran up. Hey, there's an idea -- I guess Obama can just file for bankruptcy protection for the U.S. when China decides it doesn't want to buy any more treasuries!

Further, it was that choice that landed him in Congress.

Um, okay, and this is supposed to convince the rest of us that Democrat voters are intelligent?

Most of us would love to have a Congressman, Senator, President or friend who was right the first time...

Bloody hell, I thought liberals did dumb and ignorant things by happenstance - turns out you do them deliberately. Useful information to have, I guess.

Not my job. If, for example, I make the claim that wingnutlicker actually licks nuts, I have to prove it. You can't be bothered to provide evidence, so your claim that "anyone who dared question Bush and his war on terror was told by one, if not all of you guys, to shut up and/or leave the country" is denied. In other words, Crackhead, I'm saying you are a liar. Prove me wrong, or admit you can't.

You spent 10 minutes cutting and pasting my comments, time that would have been better spent looking up the comments I refered to.

(sigh) What part of NOT MY JOB do you not understand? You said it, you prove it.

Of course, you fully well know you can't. You lied and now, rather than admit you were just engaging in typical leftist bullshit, you are trying to get me to prove your argument for you.

also, I never said dissent was unpatriotic!

I said drones, plural. You can't have it both ways... you want to make commenters here responsible for what some of us supposedly said, but you don't want to take the blame for what other leftists have said.

I said I found it funny that v the k finds it to be patriotic all of sudden, when he was one of the biggest Bush brown nosers here just six months ago. See his comments in this thread claiming that illegal wire tapping, toruture, internment camps and lies were not at all a part of the Bush admin.

I find it ironic that the left suddenly has rediscovered patriotism. Wait... funny... that's not the word I'm looking for. What is it? Sad. That's the word. Sad.

And actually, I've been reading this blog for a couple of years.

Sure you have.

Otto, you cannot possibly suggest that Conservatives and Republicans were not unjust to the left when we questioned Bush. We were repeatedly told we were "un-american", "unpatriotic", that we "sided with terrorists" etc. Over and over we heard that nonsense. I am certain you participated at some point, but to suggest that it didn't happen is ridiculous.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 10, 2009 8:59 AM

What you and your compatriots on the left did to Bush went far beyond questioning his policies: you compared him to Hitler, you called for his assassination (and Cheney's), you accused him of genocide and other war crimes, you called for a military coup against him, and you called the USA a "terrorist nation".

Worst of all, you sent the message to the terrorists that if they killed enough American troops, we would flee Iraq with our tails between our legs; and soldiers died because of it.

Bullshit. Pure utter bullshit. Questioning Bush’s policies was fine. You leftists were called un-American (note the capitalization henceforth, please), unpatriotic, and siding with terrorists because it was true. Here’s a list, and if you say that crap above again, I’ll post another few pages of similar stuff. The left absolutely were un-American, unpatriotic, and sided with terrorists. And as I recall, you’re one of the guys who couldn’t bring himself to say without qualification or prevarication that he loved America.

A few examples:
