Well, my somewhat RINO Congressman has just been nominated to be Sec. of the Army. He's quite non-controversial, so he should be a shoe-in. This will prompt a special election to replace him. This area is not full of moonbat Obamabots; there were no stickers or signs, and it went for McCain, although not by a landslide. I will do my best to keep another damn D out of there. I wouldn't mind a clear-eyed I who means what he says and says what he means. How refreshing that would be.

How sick was Edward Tiller: read comment #116.

The fun starts already. John Kasich has announced his run for governor of Ohio. The libtards, not to be beat out have come up with the following laughable site.

I think the demoturd Strickland and his crying for stimulus money just lost reelection.

Posted by: Stephana at June 2, 2009 10:46 AM

You mean, Ted Strickland, the Democrat who kept a convicted sex offender on his staff?

Anyway, PETA tastelessly exploits Tiller's murder. Really, these ghouls are nothing but attention whores.

The Chinese are buying Hummer from GM.

I have seen some disturbing things in my life, but that list is near the top. Offering Baptism to the remains? The baby means nothing to them, but the Sacrament of Baptism does? It is no wonder that many women who undergo that procedure have emotional issues.

It doesn't mean anything to them, Viking, it's a throwaway ritual for the mother. What it actually is is a confession that what they are killing is, in fact, a human being.

The Moron in Chief wants to invite Iran to July 4 celebrations. no, really.

Posted by: mega at June 2, 2009 11:51 AM

I understand the underlying admission all too well. That is exactly why it is so horrifying.

Posted by: Viking04 at June 2, 2009 11:54 AM

The lengths to which abortionists and those who abort go to avoid the reality of their actions is the clearest testimony that at some level they know what they've done is an abomination.

Posted by: Judith M. at June 2, 2009 12:19 PM

Judith, it is horrifying. As a man who has been through it with my ex, I must express I could not fathom what emotions tore her apart. However, as President Obama recently stated, it is a delicate subject. I reiterate that, and suggest we all use delicate language when discussing it. Using comments like "pro-abortion" "Tiller the Baby Killer" etc stirs emotions in some that is nothing more than domestic terrorism. Innocent people have been killed and put in harms way over avenging the fetuses. This is not the way to approach the subject or attempt to change the laws. It is documented that 87% of U.S. counties don't have access to a woman getting an abortion. So, the pro-life efforts have not gone unheard.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 2, 2009 12:35 PM

really, it seems just unbelievable that the act of abortion could be called a "delicate" act.

Ohly pro-abortionists call it "delicate". To everyone else, it's "wrong".

Posted by: mega at June 2, 2009 1:51 PM

I've never been a fan of euphemisms, GoW. They anesthetize the soul and make it easier to accept the unacceptable. Tiller got his moniker the old-fashioned way--he EARNED it. And I don't think it was words that drove Roeder to snap anyway, but rather the feeling that there was no recourse under the current legal system to prevent the wholesale slaughter of innocent babies.

A Postscript for Dr. George Tiller

Those, like me, who wanted to get a look at the website of Dr. George Tiller after his murder Sunday morning in Wichita discovered that the website had been taken down, within 24 hours of his death. Thanks to the efforts of pro-life activist Randall Terry and others, that website was somehow “recovered:” http://web.archive.org/web/20080118044720/www.drtiller.com/mainpg.html.
Since then, the site, www.drtiller.com/ , has become accessible on the web although with inactive links.
Below is a portion of the home page which includes active links to his “Women’s Health Care Services, P.A.”

“Women’s Health Care Services is a professional organization dedicated to providing expert, confidential, and respectful abortion care. We have a national and international reputation for providing the highest quality abortion services in a safe and caring environment. Kindness, courtesy, justice, love and respect are the cornerstones of our patient-provider relationships. “We have an unparalleled record of safey in late abortion services and we have more experience in late abortion services over 24 weeks than anyone else currently practicing in the Western Hemisphere, Europe and Australia.”
Why the site was initially unavailable is a matter of some conjecture; Terry suggests the reason was to conceal the details of what actually went on at Tiller’s “clinic:” http://overturnroe.com/.

However, the various links are as misleading as the facility’s name, “Women’s Health Care Services.” It’s difficult to understand how Tiller’s abortion mill, primarily dedicated to extinguishing the lives of very viable babies, i.e., infants fully capable of living outside the mother’s womb, could have been construed as providing any measure of “health care” to the mothers-to-be. It was also demonstrably unconcerned with the health of the babies killed on the premises.

Similarly, the links on Tiller’s website were clearly intended to cloak the gory specifics of his facility. The words of a Tiller victim,”Kelly,” put the lie to his website subterfuges: “Warning: Her tale of what she endured at age 14 during and after that trauma is chilling, especially her treatment by Tiller and his staff and her disgust at being uninformed on the procedure and at leaving her baby in the ‘clinic’s’ toilet”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMC_70oYV8U.

For example, the ”Informed Consent,” link is clearly aimed at . . .

Obama administration invites Iran to 4 July events

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8080239.stm

Somehow I doubt this will improve relations. In fact, it could make things worse if someone unwittingly offers an Iranian a brat or a corn dog.

I decided to post something completely different.

Supreme Court judge Clarence Thomas is a class act, through and through. I've read stories of him giving speeches and afterwards meeting people and not rushing them off, having meaningful conversations with people and posing for pics. This piece just reaffirms my opinion of the man.

Happy 4th of July!

(The following was received as an email, with photos added. Please feel free to forward this to as many patriotic Americans as would appreciate it.

Yes, parts of it may be considered hokey in our super-sophisticated, blase’, modern society but all of it is true, sincere, and thoughtful.

We are living through very trying times, times that literally “try men’s souls,” times that once again threaten our liberties and endanger our hard-fought freedoms, times that many are predicting will mark the end of the American Era on the world stage.

I contend that, despite the seriousness of both ominous domestic and foreign threats and dangers, we will ultimately prevail, not succumb, and not be defeated–as long as we retain our God-given, indomitable American spirit and sense of destiny and confidence in this nation’s future.

And what better way to re-assert that confidence than by joyously celebrating our nation’s birth date? We may have a month to go before the anniversary of July 4th,1776 but it’s never too early to celebrate our freedoms and to thank those responsible for preserving those freedoms and our still-intact American independence.)

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Happy 4th of July!

Let’ s get this started now so it will be out there on the fourth!

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR

ALL!

Wherever they may be, please support all of the troops defending our Country. And may God bless our Military who are protecting our country for our freedom. Thanks to them, and their sacrifices, we can celebrate the 4th of July.

A Poem

I watched the flag
Pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine
Saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.

Ohly pro-abortionists call it "delicate". To everyone else, it's "wrong".

Abortion is an abomination; which is why liberals have to dress it up with euphemisms in order to live with the horror they support.

It is the most selfish of selfish acts, and liberals are selfish people.

Posted by: V the K at June 3, 2009 2:18 AM

"It is documented that 87% of U.S. counties don't have access to a woman getting an abortion. So, the pro-life efforts have not gone unheard."

Not quite, Sherlock. Have you ever taken a look at a map, and then a population map ? There are a hell of a lot of "counties" that barely have access to people, let alone doctors. There are, however, few people out of the total population, excepting the most rural in the west, that are not within an hour or so of major medical facilities. If it causes you great heaps of angst because that means they are an hour from an abortion, it also means they are an hour from a cardiologist or orthopaedic surgeon, though I doubt either is as high a priority to you.

Your argument, as most of your recitations here, are crap.

The utter inability of leftists to think critically is astounding.

The utter inability of leftists to think critically is astounding.

Leftist don't think, they *feel.*

Posted by: V the K at June 3, 2009 5:40 AM

Moonbat Dutch Journalist, kidnapped and raped by Taliban, praises her captors. Maybe it wasn't rape, maybe they were just hate-f--king her. Leftists tell me there's a big difference.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 3, 2009 5:52 AM

I'm not usually the type to 'pile on' with others when a whack-o liberal begins the troll speel, however, something in the comment from the ghost person has me completely wondering what planet this person is from. Namely this -

Using comments like "pro-abortion" "Tiller the Baby Killer" etc stirs emotions in some that is nothing more than domestic terrorism.

WTF? How utterly and completely mind-f*cked does a person have to be to equate freedom of speech to an act of terrorism? What kind of idiot are you? Why did they let you out of the mental assylum and when are you do back in congressional session because no person of normal understanding can attain this level of absolute insanity under normal human conditions.

Posted by: Eric at June 3, 2009 6:02 AM

It's all about feelings, Eric. When accurate terminology like "pro-abortion" and "baby-killer" are used to describe what people on the pro-abortion side are advocating, it reminds them of the horrible activity they support. This makes them feel bad, hence they feel "terrorized."

But, note, when its an imam screaming to kill all the infidels, or when it's a lefty blogger/Air America host screeching for the death of Republicans, or when a lefty throws a chunk of cement through a recruiting center window or the windshield of a bus at the RNC convention ... that's not incitement at all. That's just political speech. And no one on the left condemns it.

Posted by: V the K at June 3, 2009 6:45 AM

Eric and vk, apparently you do not understand the power of suggestion. On Fox News, and popular columnists repeatedly used the term like "Tiller the Baby Killer", and "far-left pro-abortion zealots",mainly Bill O'Reilly. Who also stated this "Dr. Tiller has to be stopped" over and over and over. Freedom of speech is one thing, inciting violence is another. In addition, Roeder frequently posted at Operation Rescue referencing Fox and Bill O'Reilly. I agree with Judith that Roeder would have likely done this eventually, yet in 4 years Fox covered Tiller 28 times utilizing the repeated language. And V, I don't know how many times I have to repeat it, while I remain supportive of a woman's privacy and right to choose, I believe the efforts to reduce to number abortions through education and safety has been stymied by religious types and anti-abortion terrorists. Furthermore, go look at sites like Operation Rescue and God's Army, and look at how the formers comments section and see how Roeder is glorified, or the latters page on referring to the 7 convicted anti-abortion terrorists as "American Heroes". Abortion is within law and vigilantism is not. Murder is murder, and the acts of Roeder and Abdul Mujahid Muhammad are similar iin the fact that both were motivated out of political and religious views, and both were acts of terror. Eric Rudolph is another example, killing two and injuring what? 140? In order to tell the world he was against abortion and homosexuality. It is domestic terrorism!

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 3, 2009 7:32 AM

My guess is that Eric Rudolph and Roeder won't be getting tenured professorships at the University of Illinois, honorary degrees from Evergreen State, or speaking gigs on NPR.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 3, 2009 7:59 AM

anti-abortionists? try PRO-LIFE.
...and abortion is just a nice way of saying MURDER.

Posted by: FREE at June 3, 2009 8:14 AM

All that happened with the tiller scumbag was retroactive ABORTION.

Posted by: FREE at June 3, 2009 8:15 AM

Gregory, really? I think it is about time to move past Bill Ayers. His actions in my opinion were equal to domestic terrorism, but nearly 35 years ago he was given his moment in court and acquitted of charges.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 3, 2009 8:16 AM

No, he wasn't acquitted, he was released on a technicality. "Guilty as hell, free as a bird," as he put it. And Mumia and Che are still feted in leftist circles.

I am curious though, if you think harsh rhetoric leads to killing, do you hold your Democrat leaders who called American soldiers butchers, rapists, torturers, and killers in any way responsible for the attack on soldiers in Little Rock.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 3, 2009 8:24 AM

I will never move past Bill Ayers. He was acquitted on a technicality, but in his own admission "guilty as sin, free as a bird." Therefore, I am free to vilify him to my dying day. No matter what you say, Caspar.

Posted by: Karin at June 3, 2009 8:25 AM

I believe the efforts to reduce to number abortions through education and safety

So, when you knocked that woman up, was it because you were ignorant of the consequences of sex, and ignorant of birth control? Or was it because you were too selfish to delay your physical gratification until you were capable of manning up to the consequences? And did you have an abortion for any reason other than you were too selfish to deal with the temporary inconvenience of pregnancy?

Education and birth control --- meaningless lip service. Nothing more.

Posted by: V the K at June 3, 2009 8:29 AM

Karin, Gallstones just can't stand it when you remind him that his progressive left makes heroes our of thugs, murderers, and terrorists. He responds as leftists always do when confronted with an uncomfortable truth about his movement; he tells you to stop talking about it.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 3, 2009 8:31 AM

I will never move past Bill Ayers. He was acquitted on a technicality, but in his own admission "guilty as sin, free as a bird." Therefore, I am free to vilify him to my dying day. No matter what you say, Caspar.

I’m with you yet again, Karin. If I’m saved I hope to see Ayers end his days at the end of a rope, along with “Mumia,” and any number of other left-wing spokesmurderers. String ‘em all up. Consider it “referring their case to a higher Court.”

Btw, Ayers wasn’t actually acquitted; the charges were dropped. Not the same thing at all.
