Obama Removes Oversight From AmeriCorps
Given Obama's apparent intentions to use ostensibly volunteer groups as private armies, this is hardly surprising:
[O]n Wednesday night the AmeriCorps inspector general, Gerald Walpin, received a call from the White House counsel's office telling him that he had one hour to either resign or be fired. The White House did not cite a reason.
Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) came to Walpin's defense with a letter to the White House that read in part:
I was troubled to learn that last night your staff reportedly issued an ultimatum to the AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin that he had one hour to resign or be terminated. As you know, Inspectors General were created by Congress as a means to combat waste, fraud, and abuse and to be independent watchdogs ensuring that federal agencies were held accountable for their actions. Inspectors General were designed to have a dual role reporting to both the President and Congress so that they would be free from undue political pressure. This independence is the hallmark of all Inspectors General and is essential so they may operate independently, without political pressure or interference from agencies attempting to keep their failings from public scrutiny.
As Grassley went on to note, Walpin's abrupt termination violates the law. As a junior Senator, B. Hussein himself cosponsored the Inspectors General Reform Act, which requires the POTUS to give Congress 30 days notice before dismissing an IG. But Walpin is getting the ax anyway.
The firing apparently stems from Walpin's investigation of a non-profit group, St. HOPE Academy, run by Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star who is now mayor of Sacramento, California (and a big Obama supporter). "[Walpin] found that Johnson, a former all-star point guard for the Phoenix Suns, had used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school-board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson and even wash his car," the AP reports. In April, the U.S. attorney declined to file any criminal charges in the matter and criticized Walpin's investigation. But at the same time Johnson and St. HOPE agreed to repay about half of the $850,000 it had received from AmeriCorps.
Bottom line: The AmeriCorps IG accuses prominent Obama supporter of misusing AmeriCorps grant money. Prominent Obama supporter has to pay back more than $400,000 of that grant money. Obama fires AmeriCorps IG.
It would be nice to think this is just more of the slimy corruption we've come to expect from Democrats, and not part of the transformation of AmeriCorps into something scary.

Obama is not pleased - The North Koreans stole the name he planned to use once he becomes President for Life - BRILLIANT COMRADE.
"SEOUL, South Korea – The youngest son of North Korea's authoritarian leader has been given the title of "Brilliant Comrade," a newspaper reported Friday, a sign the communist regime is preparing to name him as successor to the ailing Kim Jong Il.
U.S. and South Korean intelligence authorities disclosed during a meeting this week that 26-year-old Kim Jong Un is now being referred to in the secretive regime as "Yongmyong-han Dongji," which translates roughly as "Brilliant Comrade," South Korea's mass-circulation JoongAng Ilbo newspaper reported.
An unidentified intelligence official quoted by the newspaper said the title means the North will engineer a cult of personality for the younger Kim — much like it was done for his father and grandfather, Kim Il Sung, the only two leaders North Korea has seen."

Chicago thug politics. A republican would be impeached for that.

See, the difference is Pres. Bush was WITHIN HIS POWERS AS POTUS to dump any/all those U.S. Attorneys … and without having to give a reason to ANYONE. Obama is the one who is stepping outside his designated powers … under the law. But that’s okay …
I am hearing these two phrases a lot lately:
Nothing to see here … Move along,
These are not the droids you’re looking for.

Welcome to the world of ad hoc law--a world where everything is subject to change without notice and planning ahead is an act of futility.

Liberals have always used paramilitary organizations.
Jonah Goldberg's book: "Liberal Fascism" clearly traces the history of the use of violent, paramilitary organizations by liberals and the common threads that ran through the formation of governments and programs by FDR, Mussolini and Hitler.
Along with Stalin, all of these governments were left-leaning house-cleaning operations designed to implement a socialist agenda through intimidation.
And here I thought BO didn't read.

The Teleprompter of the US is out of control, he is totally drunk on power. Our founding fathers designed our Government so no one person could take total control, IE: a King.
Obama seems to think he is some kind of a King.
His every hallowed word shall be obeyed to the letter. So he thinks.
He is an idiot if he thinks he can pull this off. There are too may real Americans still left in our Country that will have no part of this.
Chairman Zero seems to think whatever us useless Whites think doesn't really matter.
This is what happens when Welfare mothers vote.

just the fact that johnson and st. hope AGREED to pay 400,000 back to the government is a clear admission of guilt. I wonder how much he spent on obamas campaign?

Surely, you saw this coming. And like Ron Popiel, "But wait! There's more!", this show will go on and on.
Everyone can go back to their regular programming. Move along, nothing to see here.
Bungee, this is what happens because not enough people don't watch the right-wing hate broadcasts of FNN. Paying attention is *work*, dammit.

This illegal firing is getting more legs and soon the MSM will be forced to cover it. Hopefully Walpin will bring a qui tam "whistleblower" lawsuit against Americorps to recover the $75 million. This type of suit does not require the government as a party.
Glen Beck had Walpin on the show tonight and he is no pushover. A former attorney general who prosecuted Republicans, and a Sotomayor supporter, so he can't be dismissed as a Bush hack. In short the story has legs.

Correction, Walpin is a former US attorney. The White House provided no reason during the illegal termination.
Dear Leader's buddy, Johnson, has some splainin' to do - "An investigation by AmeriCorps, a federal agency which has funded St. HOPE projects, is underway. Investigators are looking into accusations that Johnson made sexual advances toward two Hood Corps volunteers (one of whom was a minor at the time), that he violated program guidelines by requiring employees to participate in religious services and mandatory "Boot Camp" style fitness training, and that he required employees to campaign for Sacramento City School Board candidates." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Johnson
Of course, Walpin is one of "them Jews," the folks Dear Leader's former spiritual advisor claimed were keeping Dear Leader from talking to him.
