Not Even Energy Czarina Has Read Cap and Tax Bill
Don't blame the Despicable Eight, aka the Cap'n Traitors, for voting in favor of crippling our economy with a multi-$trillion energy tax in the name of the polar bears without even having read the 1,000+ page energy bill that would not only tip our economy into a depression, but allow the federal government to regulate the most picayune aspects of our lives. Not even the Energy Czarina Carol Browner has read it.
She'll know better than to appear again on FNC:
Via Hot Air:
STEVE DOOCY: "[I] know the bill is over 1,000 pages long. Have you have read it?"
CAROL BROWNER: "Oh, I'm very familiar with this bill."
DOOCY: "Have you have read it?"
BROWNER: "We have obviously been watching this for a very long time. I am very…"
DOOCY: "I'm sure you've got an idea of it, but you have read it?"
BROWNER: "I've read major portions of it, absolutely."
DOOCY: "So the answer no you haven't read it. But you've read a big chunk of it."
BROWNER: "No, no, no that's not fair. That's absolutely not fair."
DOOCY: "No, I'm just asking you if you read the thousand pages."
BROWNER: "I've read vast portions of it."
DOOCY: "Ok."
Vast portions. For all Carol knows, the bill bans the internal combustion engine. Al Gore would be delighted.
On a tip from Mandible Claw.

Is it even possible to read a "piece of shit"?
Posted by: forest at June 30, 2009 7:53 AM
If i recall CAROL BROWNER was KING WILLIAM THE FINKS head of the ENVIROMENTAL DEFECTIVE AGENCY

but not reading the bill makes me environmentally friendly!!!
look at all the trees we have saved by not printing copies of this bill...ALGORE is proud of us

Bad Fox News, asking her if she read it. How dare they pursue that line of questioning. He was just rude. And they call that journalism. If Doocy really cared, he would have asked how Fox could help pass the bill in the Senate, as the real journalists in the MSM will.

Carol Brownoser is butt sniffing today with her nose so far up Obamas butt crack she is ticking his prostate gland.
Posted by: Anonymous at June 30, 2009 8:19 AM
I doubt she read any of it, and definitely not the 300 pages they grunted onto the pile at 3:00am.
She probably read some summaries at most.

I'm a little shaky on the quantitative difference between reading big chunks versus reading vast portions, but I'm quite sure Browner hasn't read more than a mere trifle of that monstrosity.

Big chunks?
That's a good description of stinking pile of shit that's about to be spread over every citizen of the USA.

A Rule For Good Government:
"No bill should be more than 300 pages long (Double-spaced). any bill longer than 300 (Even by a single four-line paragraph) shall be null and void and not put up for vote a vote."
That should prevent most "riders" and cut out a lot of "legalese" and double-talk.
I have an idea:
Let's slip an EXECUTION ORDER for anyone in the US government who votes for it into a long 'global warming' bill. After they pass it and Hopey McChange signs it, we show it to them. The looks on their faces would be worth it, even if we never get to shoot them!
Posted by: KHarn at June 30, 2009 10:02 AM
I was something along the same lines execpt it included the waterboarding of Nazi Pelousy.
Posted by: Big_Daddy at June 30, 2009 10:38 AM
Great idea, KHarn. A provision reinstituting slavery and removing female suffrage would be funnier than hell when they found out what they'd voted for. They'd never live it down!

If you apply the standard algorithm for Liberal to English translation, then
"I've read vast portions of it."
translates to
"What bill?"
Texas is Galt's Gulch.

Even liberals are embarrassed by this sorry performance, and they're not easily embarrassed.
Posted by: Jay Guevara at June 30, 2009 1:25 PM
Stupid ass liberals. This is there strategy: push the bill through as fast as possible because over seas they are doing the direct opposite. They realize in Europe that this kind of legislation is just not feasible and costly. The dumb ass demacrickets don't want the people of America to what's happening across the pond.
By the way how in the fuck are we responsible for all the pollution in the world? What about China and Russia?
I don't see how anyone in their right mind could follow liberal leaders...Oh wait they don't have a right mindset, liberalism is a mental illness.

She should have just given the stock Obama answer that reading the energy bill was "above her pay grade."
How dare Doocy be so mean-sprited and sexist to not let her get away with answering the question.
Posted by: ZMarshall at June 30, 2009 2:10 PM
The need for unseemly haste is obvious: first, "global warming" is past its sell-by date, and will soon be joining Ricky Martin as a trivia question. Second, there is a growing number of suggestions that the climate is, if anything, cooling a bit, so they've got to pass the legislation now so they can attribute the cooling to the legislation.

Kanzlerin Merkel is now talking about tax cuts to stimulate the German economy. What a concept.
Posted by: Viking04 at June 30, 2009 2:26 PM
It will be interesting to see whose economy recovers first - ours or Germany's.
Posted by: Nancy at June 30, 2009 3:22 PM
Well, at this pace, I don't think recovery is going to even be a possibility for the US...
Spending out of a recession is just plain ass-backwards. It's like turning on more lights in your house to darken your house. It makes absolutely no sense. Or, how about we turn all our fans on to stop the ambient moving of air throughout the house.
You can't fix stupidity. Liberalism is a mental disease. Libtards are afflicted by both.
I hope we can take this country back from the mongrels.

The bill means more power for the Federal Government. They don't need to read it 'cuz that's all they need to know. More pages just mean more power, who cares what is written on them.

Doubtful she has even read a trifle. As far as they are concerned they don't need to. They are expected to simply rubber-stamp it. America has very likely got it's equivalent of Common Purpose at work- "Leading beyond Authority", "Toward a post-democratic society" etc. It's all the rage in neo-communist, 3rd way circles that aspire to a continental/regional Union.

Browner reminds me of Milo Minderbinder from Catch-22 with the way she talks.
