More of Chairman Zero's Promised Transparency

The magic of Change has been far-reaching. Even the word "transparency" has Changed. Now it means opaqueness:

Despite President Barack Obama's pledge to introduce a new era of transparency to Washington, and despite two rulings by a federal judge that the records are public, the Secret Service has denied msnbc.com's request for the names of all White House visitors from Jan. 20 to the present. It also denied a narrower request by the nonpartisan watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which sought logs of visits by executives of coal companies. …
Groups that advocate open government have argued that it's vital to know the names of White House visitors, who may have an outsized influence on policy matters.

Not even Chairman Zero's toadies at MSNBC like having the door slammed in their faces, though predictably they hasten to assure readers that W was just as bad.

Here's a Moonbattery exclusive — we've gotten ahold of Mr. Transparency's suppressed visitors log:

Brian Williams
Charles Gibson
Katie Cupcake
Chris Matthews
Keith Olbermann
Bill Ayers
Bernardine Dohrn
Jeremiah Wright
Louis Farrakhan
Rashid Khalidi
Hugo Chavez
Satan

It's anyone's guess how many of these names are on there for real.

On a tip from B1BBET.

The Cuban spies want out of jail? LOL! Why havent they been tried then promptly lined up and shot for treason yet???

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090617/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_us_cuba_spy_charges

"WASHINGTON – A husband and wife charged with three decades of spying for Cuba want a judge to let them out of jail and confine them at home, without access to their sailboat and maps of Cuban waters that prosecutors said were evidence they planned to flee to the island nation."

I don't think Satan would stoop to hanging out with those guys.

With visitors like these, who needs interns?

Posted by: SnowSnake at June 17, 2009 8:24 AM

And nothing about CREW filing the same suit against the Bush White House? CREW did not back down from Bush, while your ilk attacked them over and over. I do not think Obama wants this fight.

What is it about liberals and six year olds forever whining "he did it first" when they're caught doing something bad?

Posted by: V the K at June 17, 2009 8:34 AM

I am not saying that at all V. I blog on this a few times yesterday around the web. I am very concerned by this. But, while it is not surprising that Helsing would ignore that the non-partisan CREW was attacked awfully when filing the Bush lawsuit.Plus Obama attacked the Bush White House 3 times from 2006 until 2008 for the same thing. With Bush it was "executive privilege", and with Obama it's "well these are not Secret Service documents, so they are not included in the Freedom of Information Act". Both are lies.

Maybe your teeny liberal mind is missing the point here: Obama made a big deal about transparency, so it's dishonest and hypocritical to veil his administration in secrecy.

Just like it's hypocritical of him to fire an Inspector General in violation of a law that he authored.

Just like it's hypocritical of him to lecture Americans about our thermostat settings while keeping the White House in January at temperatures you could grow orchids in.

Just like it's asinine of him to claim he inherited a deficit when he voted on the spending bills that caused it and quadrupled it within weeks of taking office.

And just like it's dishonest of him to claim... as he does... that Republicans alternatives to his big government economic and health care schemes is "to do nothing."

And just like it is hypocritical of him to accuse the Bush admin of "torture" by making terrorists uncomfortable ... while he renditions prisoners to countries that practice real actual torture.

Just like it is hypocritical of him to send Uighur terrorist to tropical beach resorts because he's concerned they will be mistreated in China... while His SecState and Speaker of the House reassure the Chinese that we won't press for the human rights of their non-terrorist citizens.

Some messiah you elected.

I know!! What did you miss there V? Was it the "I am concerned about this", or was it that "Obama criticized Bush 3 times for this between 2006 and 2008"? Jeesh! And yesterday, I put this on the open thread, and not a peep. I also wrote on it for a handful of blogs yesterday.

V the K,

Liberals frequently use parallels to design an argument.
Its a cheap rhetorical ploy since the situations are almost always different. However it puts the opponent on the defense since he is now obligated to point out the almost always substantial differences between the "parallel" cases in question.
By that time the liberal has conveniently moved on.

In the present case made by Wellstoned, while he wants to divert the issue to CREW (and of course, ...once again, ...Bush) his parallel can be easily dismissed by pointing out that when Bush was in office, the Adults were in charge.
