Find Your Congressional Pen Pal

Today Dems are trying to pass what may be the largest tax hike in American history, a "cap and trade" bill that would impose a multi-$trillion energy tax during a severe recession and destroy an estimated 2.7 million jobs.

The result of this becoming law would be inevitable: an economic depression. Democrats are deliberately attempting to recreate their glory days of the 1930s. Your children growing up in poverty is a price they're willing to pay.

The kakistocracy is counting on us not to realize what it's doing. Showing Congresscritters that we aren't the hapless sheep they take us for could have a highly beneficial impact on their votes. Even the good guys in Congress need to know that we have their backs. Anyone who doesn't want America deliberately reduced to a Third World country in the name of the farcical global warming hoax is urged to find their rep's website at www.house.gov and fire off a note. Here's a good sample letter:

Dear Congressperson:
Cap and Trade is simply "Cap and Tax". It will kill economic growth at a critical time in our nation's recovery process. Even Warren Buffett, a top Obama supporter, agrees that our economy is in shambles. This energy tax will not only devastate American competitiveness, but it will be passed on to consumers and raise everyday living costs, especially for the middle class and poor who are already struggling.
What's more, the plan is absurd in that it does not take into account the growing scientific skepticism surrounding the AGW issue.
Please vote NO on the Cap and Trade bill!
Respectfully,

Keep the letters respectful and calm, and keep them coming. Our rulers still fear us a little. We blocked their last attempt at amnesty, we can block this.

Mr. Maffei,
I am writing today to ask you not to vote in favor of the upcoming cap and trade bill. The global warming debate is not over by a long shot, and this bill will be nothing more than a gigantic tax increase for all of us.

This new oppressive tax will further hurt our economy, making so many people who are already having a hard time just getting by, get further behind. Even the president himself said that energy prices would "necessarily skyrocket", and power companies will have to pass on the extra cost to consumers with such a bill. Do you honestly think the average American can afford that right now? I for one cannot.

I will be checking to see how you vote on this bill, and I'm going to be honest with you... if you vote for it, not only will I not vote for you in the future, I will do my best to make sure nobody else I know in your district votes for you either. This bill is just plain WRONG, especially given the state of our economy right now. We can't afford it! Your constituents are watching, so please, please do the right thing and vote no.

I appreciate the opportunity to let you know my feelings on the subject, and I thank you for your time.

It may be worth allowing the Dems to pass both Cap&Trade and the health bill. I suspect either one of these bills will eventually spell the doom of the Democrat party forever.

Thank you Van H. and TheMary Hunter! I sent the sample letter to my Congressman, John T. Salazar, District 3, in Colorado.

I like Glenn Beck's comment earlier this week. He said, we need watch what the other hand is doing. We have been distrated this week by the health and medical reform proposals, such that the "magicians" on Capitol Hill are trying a slight of hand trick. This passed the Senate without much fanfare or so much as a whimper. Please contact your Congressman or Congresswoman!

P.S. Bennetmornings.com has a link for the health and medical care reform proposals. That too, is important! But first things first!

Thanks!

@oldguy: The problem is they may just take the rest of us down with them. We need to stop this foolishness before that can happen.

Posted by: CoderInCrisis at June 26, 2009 9:24 AM

they're going to debate the bill for three hours and then vote - CALL/WRITE YOUR REP! NOT TOO LATE!

Posted by: nancz at June 26, 2009 9:24 AM

the reason they are ramming this through today: skepticism about "climate change" is rapidly increasing. Too bad we couldn't collectively hold out for a few more months from the Obama onslaught. Good article about it here

It's a damn shame that we can't start boiling a large cauldron of tar in front of Capitol Hill for Pelousy, Nostrils Waxman, Malarky and the other Democrap rogues who are trying to ram through this communistic crap and tax mess. In saner times, they would be thrown in, feathered, tied to the front bumpers of their limosines and jets and run the hell out of town. My congresspeople are already on record as going to vote against this economic suicide bill. It's up to the people who are represented by treacherous fool Democraps who would march in lockstep with their DNC leadership to deluge their representatives' offices and demand that they, for once, show some political courage, integrity and love of country to defeat this demonistic legislation.

Jesus Christ! I just found out from Americans for Prosperity that my republican rep is one of the ones leaning yes! WTF???!!! Phone is busy, but I did write yesterday, and a few other times. What is wrong with that guy? His constituents are not well-off people. When gas goes to $4, they have to go to food banks. Lot of farmers, too.

OK, just now, I did get through and gave the guy my message. This thing pisses me off SO MUCH that I wasn't as sweet and polite as I normally am. I even called him John. Could have called him worse.

Although global warming is an absolute, no-doubt-about-it hoax...

A simple solution (besides this cap and tax garbage) would be to encourage the high "pollutant" emitters to just plant some damn trees. Simple science says that they use CO2 to, you know, give us air to breath. It's a simple circle.

Damnit I hate libtards. Absolutely brainless people... actually, I'm not sure they are even people.

The House passed crap and tax economic suicide bill 219-212.

Eight Republicans voted with the Democrats for passage of the bill, and we only needed 4 more votes to go the other way to kill it.

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2009/roll477.xml

Here is a list of the 8 treasonous Republican vermin siding with the Ayes -- go to their websites, get their phone numbers and let them know how you feel about their sell-outs to Queen Nancy and Nostrilman:

Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) http://www.marybono.com/
Mike Castle (DE) http://www.castle.house.gov/
Mark Kirk (Ill.-10) http://www.house.gov/kirk/
Leonard Lance (NJ-7)http://lance.house.gov/index.html
Frank LoBiondo (NJ-2) http://www.house.gov/lobiondo/
John McHugh (NY-23) http://mchugh.house.gov/
Dave Reichert (Wa-8) http://reichert.house.gov/
Chris Smith (NJ-4)http://chrissmith.house.gov/

And here are the 2 Republicans who didn't even vote:

Jeff Flake (Az-6)(http://flake.house.gov/
John Sullivan (Ok-1) http://sullivan.house.gov/

Both Flake and Sullivan's websites said they opposed the bill, so they better have been on their deathbeds for not showing and voting.

May all of the sell-outs be voted out of office and rot in hell for the economic suicide their votes will cause to our country.

Hats off to the 44 Democrats who voted Nay and were not willing to commit economic suicide today
