Burger King Owners Revolt Against Global Warming Hoax

More than a few have figured out that global warming is a malignant hoax, designed to strip us of our freedom and transfer our wealth to the government, corrupt corporations like GE, and still more corrupt charlatans like Al Gore. The establishment almost uniformly promotes this swindle, but Tennessee Burger King owners are fighting back with about a dozen signs like this:

Burger-King-Rebellion.jpg

Mirabile Investment Corporation owns over 40 Burger Kings. Its marketing president John McNelis is defiant:

The [restaurant] management team can put the message up there if they want to. It is private property and here in the US we do have some rights. … Burger King can bluster all they want about what they can tell the franchisee to do, but we have free-speech rights in this country so I don't think there's any concerns.

According to Burger King, franchisees have agreed to comply with orders from on high to remove the signage. If the signs are replaced with new ones reading, "Global Warming Is Real, Taxes Are Good, Obama Is the Messiah," we'll know the top brass has the situation in hand.

On a tip from mega.

There are some days when I have to admit that the lefties may be on to something when they complain that corporations can be as much of a threat to our individual liberties as the government is. Especially when the corporations are in collusion with the government.

While I agree with the sentiment, and think it's funny and all.. I'm not sure how "free-speech rights" will play out.. people see a burger king sign, they think burger king.. not mirabile investment corporation..

does free speech give you the right to speak in someone else's name?

Snow in North Dakota in June. But supposedly, the Earth is heating up faster than the fumes from Al Gore's Gulfstream.

While I agree global warming is way too overhyped, even scientists who rebel against the global warming hoax do admit that the climate is changing (regardless of whether humans have anything to do with it). It obviously changed from an ice age to a relatively familiar climate with minimal human input.

For an example, see Newsy's recent video about global warming. Not once do they say it's industry's fault. However, they do point out that there will be a response required from us towards those affected as the climate does inevitably change.

Global Warming is a big fat green lie from a bunch of dirty lying left-wing journalists AL GORE who is a spoiled brat and sore loser and from the annoying granola munching tree hugging eco-freak stupidheads

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at June 8, 2009 7:51 AM

Nice. One side has almost all geophysics and climatological scientists and scientific societies, and the other has scientists from ExxonMobile and now the Burger King.

I'm sorry. You guys also have a lot of armchair "scientists" who have 0 training and are in absolutely no position to adjudicate the data one way or another.

So ya got that goin' for ya. Which is nice.

Posted by: brs at June 8, 2009 7:54 AM

lets be clear here -
Global Warming caused by humans is the hoax.....

At least Obama will know which Franchisee's to close when it's time to Nationalize Burger King...

Just like the Venerable Algore, that you lefties feel is so almighty.

Let’s just ignore the fact that Al makes a fortune whipping up this bogus “PSH” (Pants Sh#& hysteria). That every bit of the evidence he espouses has been shown to be in error, or just out in out fraud.

Noooooo the lefties, protect there own. Or eat them when they are no longer useful.
Yes, useful idiots will believe anything, Just look at the white house, and the leaders of congress.

Burger King food is worse than baloney, but I agree with their signage.

Posted by: mmmmmBurgers at June 8, 2009 8:35 AM

So ya got that goin' for ya. Which is nice.

And the fact that Earth has been cooling since 1998, which is also nice.

And the fact the none of the climate models the IPCC based their scare on bear any resemblance to what is actually happening in the environment, which is also nice.

And the fact that thousands of years of data indicate that temperature fluctuations are perfectly normal, which is also nice.

And, you guys being basically a cult led by a Charlatan (Al Gore) who flies around the world on a carbon-spewing private jet while reaping millions in "carbon credits" from idiots like brs.

And, of course, GE propagandizes global warming so it can sell wind turbines.

Let me sum up:

In favor of anthropogenic global warming: Al Gore, GE, and some ridiculously flawed climate models.

Against anthropogenic global warming: Reality.

I love the "logic": I don't like Al Gore, Al Gore claims proposition A, ergo proposition A is false.

What the hell does Al Gore have to do with anything? You have to account for the DATA! Not Al Gore.

And the vast majority of those who actually know how to interpret that data disagree with you. THAT (and of course the data itself) is what you need to account for, and The Burger King's opposition is not as compelling as it might be.

"And the fact the none of the climate models the IPCC based their scare on bear any resemblance to what is actually happening in the environment, which is also nice."

You have a better model? Let's see it.

Non-scientists always think models should be perfect when this is in fact not possible. The BEST model wins, and criticising the best model becasue it's not perfect just shows your naivity to the process. The null hyp, that nothing is happening, is certainly not supported by that model, et al data that's been collected.

Your other "objections" re: Al Gore I've covered.

If Gore says that sky is blue, are y'all prepared to go around thnking it's purple? Just wondering.

brs time for a latte, don't you think? Your data is Garbage, your Global warming hoax, is no longer working. Now go find a new Religion, the church of Global BS is not being taken seriously any longer.

Posted by: Unicorn Fart at June 8, 2009 10:33 AM

"Franchisees have agreed...". Sort of like a judge telling the jury to ignore what they just heard.

Posted by: oldguy at June 8, 2009 10:36 AM

You have a better model? Let's see it.

Yes, I do. It's called "Nature," and it is completely defying all the clumsy models proposed by "climate scientists;" which contain such elementary errors as assuming an infinitely thick atmosphere.

No point in arguing with brs. Global Warming is his religion, and he's not going to let any inconvenient facts get in the way of it.

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 8, 2009 10:44 AM

My data point is telling me global warming is bosh. Two freezes since June 1, in Northern Minnesota--brrrrrrrrrr!

Posted by: Judith M. at June 8, 2009 11:06 AM

"And the vast majority of those who actually know how to interpret that data disagree with you"

Um, no, that's merely a lie.

BRS: Please come back when you've researched the age of the thermometer. The accuracy of global temperature measurement and it's history.

Hint: Every piece of temperature measurement beyond 500 years back is a guess. An educated guess, but a guess nonetheless. And those guesses are too far outside the acceptable margin for error to make any meaningful statistical analysis.

I wish that BURGER KING was in my area i would go there and order a double whopper and fries a coke and tell the greens to STICK IT IN THEIR GRANOLA BAR

Good for Tennesee, but I am just creeped out by the Buger King comercials.

I thought the "square pants" comercial was as low as they could go, but then... (oh God!)... THEN they came out with "the Kingons"!

brs, I've seen the charts that show carbon dioxide increasing in the atmosphere following warming. Out of all the articles I've read postulating anthropogenic caused global warming I've yet to read one that says: here is the data and this data shows that carbon dioxide is the driver of temperature. The articles all start with the assumption that carbon dioxide is driving temperature. And then when you consider atmospheric carbon dioxide produced anthropogenically is a fraction of total carbon dioxide in the atmosphere you've got to scratch your head in wonder.

brs, I think you're the one being taken in. I think you're being taken in by what can be described as a government-industrial complex. The article posted above that you commented on is about an individual owner of some Burger Kings, not Burger King the corporation. ExxonMobile is right in there doing everything it can to promote being Green as is every major corporation in America. They are hand in hand with this thing.

brs, I advocate that we put catalytic converters on cows assholes. Further, anyone who loves Algore as much as you do should not be allowed to breath anymore.

So FEZ, GoW and of course you, hold your breath, do not expel carbon dioxide. Just because Trees live on Carbon Dioxide, we can let the truth get in the way of your Koolaid drinking lies.

Yes brs, you are officially a useful idiot.

We can hope that Europe, after decades of adopting the watered-down Marxist economics of the Soviet Union despite holding them off in the Cold War, has finally come to its economic senses.

Providing that green moonbats from the stupid UN think eating meat is contributing to GLOBAL WARMING becuase the UN is the hideout for the worlds worse crinimals

Posted by: Condor at June 8, 2009 9:26 PM

I seem to recall that during the age of the dinosaurs, 100's of millions of years ago, temperatures and climates were much warmer than they are today and there was a virtual explosion of both plant and animal life on this planet. And then there were ice ages, and then other warm periods- like the medieval warm period, and then it cooled off again... and the planet and humanity survived.

All these climate-concerned folks should spend their time and money looking for killer asteroids instead, IMHO. That's a problem we can't let nature take care of on it's own.

Aside from global warming debate and strictly from a business perspective, it would be interesting to see Mirabile's profit charts after a month of displaying that sign. My guess is that it will hurt business. Why else would BBC want it down?

Posted by: andy42302 at June 9, 2009 6:03 AM

There also was the MEDEVEL WARMING PERIOD and THE LITTLE ICE AGE long before there were any SUVs,backyard BBQs,or JET AIRLINERS and thank god NO STUPID GREENPEACE
