Bonnie Erbe: Michelle Malkin Deserves Playboy's Public Rape Fantasies

It turns out Playboy's invitation to fantasize about raping famous conservative women wasn't such a big deal after all. First, it drew approving chuckles from Politico under the subheading, "The Lighter Side of Politics." Now MSM propagandist Bonnie Erbe of U.S. News & World Report officially confirms that at least some conservative women deserve to be "hate f**ked":

[A]t least one woman on the list is so venom-spewing, she unfortunately invites venom to be shot back at her: Michelle Malkin.

In her high-mindedness, Erbe does admit that not all of the women on Playboy's list deserve to be raped. But expressing as much countermoonbat passion as Michelle Malkin is apparently the equivalent of deserving what you get for wearing too short a skirt.

The MSM confirms: it's her own fault for inspiring dark thoughts.

Bonnie who?

Posted by: mandy at June 4, 2009 8:24 AM

I've been reading Michelle Malkin for about the past six months. I don't understand the venom she appears to have inspired from the left. I have always been amazed at how much worse the criticism gets if it is a WOMAN saying these things, Sarah Palin being the most recent case in point. It goes beyond rational thought and into completely rabid hatred. And often it is other women doing the piling on!

Posted by: Nancy at June 4, 2009 8:32 AM

Bonnie who?

A far-left feminist Gorgon who appears (naturally) on taxpayer-supported PBS (a network where you won't see Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, or Liz Cheney).

Every once in a while, the progressive mask slips and reveals the true ugliness of the left... the desire not to debate opponents, but to do violence against them. Erbe won't debate Malkin, but she would have Malkin harmed for betraying the Holy Order of the Sisters of Perpetual Grievance.

Nancy,

The lib women think she's an uppity traitor.

And the effete metrosexual liberal men can't stand that they secretly think she's hot. They might be happier if she put on a burka.

Posted by: forest at June 4, 2009 8:36 AM

Speaking of F***ing... What I'll never, ever, ever get is how men could actually get off on fake boobs... you know, like Miss California, Carrie Prejean.

If I could point to one thing that shows the decadence of the american macho male mind... it would be their obsession with having the right size boobs to play with regardless of whether they are made of silicone rubber... or flesh. Totally bizarre. That and their obsession with anal sex... YYYYYYUCK!

Posted by: Fez at June 4, 2009 8:36 AM

Nancy, you'll notice the women hated most by the left are the attractive conservative women: Malkin, Palin, Coulter... Does that maybe provide a hint as to why they are reviled by leftist women like Bonnie Erbe, Janeane Garofalo, and Randi "Pour me another one, barkeep" Rhodes?

Posted by: Gregory of Yardale at June 4, 2009 8:37 AM

I will have to admit to having some thoughts about MM myself, of course none of it is hateful or violent. Does this count as a confession?

Posted by: Eric at June 4, 2009 8:38 AM

Fez - i thought it was you gay boys who were obsessed with anal sex??

Posted by: Anonymous at June 4, 2009 8:40 AM

This is a stretch to suggest Ms. Erbe is endorsing the hate rape of Michelle Malkin. As I said on the previous Open Thread regarding this, any pundit, on the left or right who can be venomous expects and should expect some to come back at them, which is the point Bonnie Erbe is making. I was then criticized by Cowlove for "objectifying" women because I noted Michelle Malkin was beautiful, which she is. Many of you added 32 comments to "objectifying" women by Cowlove's criteria. The Playboy piece was in very bad taste, but as Ms. Erbe notes, in this business, if you are going to spew venom, some is coming back at you.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 4, 2009 8:44 AM

Yeah, I do not "get this" either. I have been reading MM since she started blogging. A true feminist would support her right to her opinion. I dont suspect that there are many true feminist. Many of these women that attack or justify extreme criticisms of the likes of Prejean, Coulter and Malkin are merely skirt wearing fascists.

Posted by: Buzz at June 4, 2009 8:45 AM

Gallstones pulls an interesting trick.

1. He claims Bonnie Erbe didn't endorse hate-raping Michelle Malkin. And of course she didn't in so many words. What she said is that Michelle Malkin deserves to be the object of a hate-rape fantasy. She didn't endorse the actual act. More accurately, she rationalized the *idea* of the act. By saying "endorsed," he sets up a strawman (because liberals can't win arguments with real men.)

If someone were to say, "I don't endorse the murder of abortionists, but if you deal in death for a living, someone might bring death to you," does anyone believe that Gallstones would let them off the hook? To be intellectually honest and consistent, he would have to.

2. After claiming Erbe didn't endorse the hate-rape of Malkin, he expresses agreement with her; thus admitting that he also thinks the idea of hate-raping Michelle Malkin is a reasonable consequence of her expressing "venom."

3. "Venom" is just a code-word for "opposition to the Progressive agenda." So, anyone who opposes progressivism can be accused of "spewing venom," and therefore is fair game...

4. He dodges the whole idea that advocating hateful violent acts on your political opponents is just plain wrong, and something that people of good faith should go out of their way to condemn and not even *appear* to rationalize.

Sure MM is pretty. But it is what she says and how she says it that I love.

Posted by: SnowSnake at June 4, 2009 9:12 AM

Keep reaching...
What part of the "Playboy piece was in very bad taste" was hard to understand? I do not endorse, advocate, wish for, believe in, or hope for a violent against any woman. I have once made the argument that Michelle Malkin was a self-hating Filipino for bitching about "anchor babies", when she herself would fit the criteria, does it mean I want her deported? No, she is a smart woman who often offers strong debate, but has said some things that warrant some things coming back at her. Hate rape is too extreme, hence why Playboy removed the article, a bit a late I may add. This is where Ms. Erbe and I are in agreement.I have to add, those that are angry with Ms. Erbe are fishing in an empty pond.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 4, 2009 9:13 AM

ffs, first day with your libacrit dictionary? In just those few words you have used up the entire libacrit dictionary.Good boy. Now go get a real dictionary and come back when you can debate and not just cuss.

A "hate fuck" does NOT mean rape!!
Posted by: FFS at June 4, 2009 9:08 AM

As if any of the women on the list would voluntarily have sex with a skeezy lowlife like Guy Cimbalo. The sex would be involuntary, and therefore, rape.

As for Caspar, white shoes after Labor Day are "in bad taste." A tank top in church is "in bad taste." Suggesting sexual violence against a woman is okay if she's a conservative is evil.

Posted by: V the K at June 4, 2009 9:19 AM

Reference an argument but don't respond to it, Wellstone?

She points that Malkin's commentary spews so much venom that she probably invites venom being spewed back at her.

Here's your assignment. Find a post from Malkin that even comes close to being as venemous as rape and hatef#cking. Until you do so, this point is null and void.

I agree with Ms. Erbe,

Knock me over with a feather...

...and if she were speaking of, say Randi Rhodes or Janeane Garofalo you would likely agree with her.

Wrong, as usual. See, I don't like either of those women, but I would never be so disgusting and vile as to justify the violence and humiliation of rape as a response to their political views. That might be hard for you to understand, but that's your own fault for being such a disgusting person. As a test, imagine a scenario in which Van Helsing actually said Garbuffalo or Rhodes probably deserved a good hatef#cking. I imagine you'd probably get a good shivering tingle at the chance to be morally outraged. A liberal says it about a conservative? Eh, you agree with the liberal, like a good little drone.

Most pundits who are "venomous" at times also expect it back. I personally think Malkin is a twit, a beautiful one, but a twit nonetheless. That said, I certainly would hate the idea of "rape" or "hate fuck" to happen to her.

No you wouldn't; you already said you agreed with Erbe. And what does Malkin's appearance have to do with anything? Can you please leave your objectification of women out of this?

You are trying so hard to take your frustrations over the Playboy opinion piece on Bonnie Erbe, and it is a stretch!

Odd that you should repeat yourself, when your entire comment says the exact opposite.

Encore, please!

Posted by: cowlove at June 4, 2009 9:26 AM

V, I have stated my opinion, and it is slightly different than yours, but we are in agreement any sexual violence is not ok. Nice try!

Bingo.

The leftists are playing a kind of sick word-game. "Yeah, hate-raping Michelle Malkin would be wrong, but talking about it is just 'in bad taste,' and she really deserves it anyway."

Posted by: V the K at June 4, 2009 9:32 AM

It's revealing that liberals want to punish women they disagree with by having sex with them. I have to admit, it does sound like a pretty horrible punishment.

Defense attorney: Your honor, the woman wrote a syndicated newspaper column specifically citing the accused' most cherished beliefs. She ripped these beliefs apart and, Miss Malkin's intended effect of arousing my client's baser emotions complete, she then ruffled and flourished her own beliefs in front of him like an arrogant matador flourishing a maddening, in-your-face red cape, arousing all the anger and passion of the bull that the matador intends to brutally kill. But a matador is a predator in a game. Is there no one in this court that does not see that this woman is a predator of the worst order? This is no game!

Is my client guilty of holding his beliefs dear to his heart? Dearer than life and liberty itself? He is. He is well known to be a man of principle. He found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time with a woman playing games he did not understand. And if the court allows this to go on and women such as this amoral political rapist are allowed to continue their sordid games there is no doubt there will be more casualties, such as my client, of these tawdry female political predators. This will not be the last we see of her in our courts. My client holds strong, long held beliefs, as is normal and expected of a Man. He is guilty of nothing more nor less than being a Man.

Sotomayer: Acquitted.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 4, 2009 9:13 AM

Actually, an "anchor baby" refers to those babies born to illegal aliens in order to specifically secure a toe-hold in the United States. It has to do with INTENT.

Wikipedia's entry on Malkin cites:
In a 2003 Jewish World Review column about Yaser Esam Hamdi, Malkin questioned "whether Hamdi should even be considered an American at all" and argued against the legal doctrine of birthright citizenship, asserting that "the custom of granting automatic citizenship at birth to children of tourists and temporary workers such as Hamdi, tourists, and to countless 'anchor babies' delivered by illegal aliens on American soil, undermines the integrity of citizenship—not to mention national security".

You know what, she's right. And though she was granted automatic citizenship at the time of her birth does not mean that she can't see it as bad practice. It doesn't make her a "self-hating bitch." It means she is intellectually honest. My God, man.

Posted by: Kevin R at June 4, 2009 10:13 AM

"This is a stretch to suggest Ms. Erbe is endorsing the hate rape of Michelle Malkin." (sic)

No it isn't. Let's not forget that the left published Malkin's home address and satellite shots of her house, forcing her to move.
...For what "venom"?
The fascist intent of liberals is never far from the surface.

This is nothing new for the political Left…..remember Sandra Bernhard and her lurid racist “Gang Rape” fantasy about Sarah Palin?

From the New York Daily News:

"Sandra Bernhard issued a blistering warning to Sarah Palin during a performance of her new one-woman show."

The Republican V.P. candidate would be "gang-raped by my big black brothers" if she enters Manhattan, Bernhard said.

"[The gang rape comment] is part of a much larger, nuanced, and yes, provocative (that's what I do) piece from my show about racism, freedom, women's rights and the extreme views of Governor Sarah Palin, a woman who doesn't believe that other women should have the right to choose," Bernhard told the Daily News.

"Now you've got Uncle women like Sarah Palin who jumps in this s*** and points her fingers at other women," Bernhard says, before launching into the several minutes' long diatribe against Palin, calling her a "turncoat b***"."

In the Liberal world, that’s a “home run” – Bernhard proves herself to be a consummate Loopy, Loony, Lying, Lemming-Like Lesbian Leftist Liberal Loser ™ by combining racism, sexism, and offensive language with a fantasy about sexual violence.

How did the Democratic Party ever miss her natural ability as a candidate? She could be the Lesbian Ted Kennedy.....

My mistake, Ghost. You said that ...Michelle Malkin was a self-hating Filipino for bitching about "anchor babies"...

Do you mean that she hates herself and she is a Filipino or do you mean she hates herself as a Filipino (actually, that would be Filipina)?

She "bitches" about anchor babies therefor she is a self-hating Filipino. Ah yes, I see the logic there. /sarc

Posted by: Kevin R at June 4, 2009 12:08 PM

If GoW and Erbe really thought the Playboy piece was wrong, they could have just said so and left it that. But, they don't. They use it as a launching point for attacks against a person they disagree with. Which is reason enough to doubt the sincerity of their tepid criticism of the piece.

Wellstone just can't help it - he's a racist.

Michelle Malkin is Amercican - in fact, she's a "Phila-pina" if she is anything, having been born in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, onetime capitol of our fledgeling nation, and the city where the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were created.

Besides, it's only a short limo ride up I-95 from the Biden mansion.

I've noticed that the Left often refers to illegal aliens as immigrants and when using the word "immigration" actually uses that word to include illegal aliens that have slipped over our borders in disregard to our immigration law. Is that what you mean or are you saying that Michelle Malkin has been venomous in comment regarding people that legally immigrate here and jump through all the hoops.

Judith, why because she understands diversity? Or fell in love with me during/after for the work I did with her son upon his return home from Iraq? My comment was a figure of speech, which I have used bout myself when I witness some white crime, heard Sam Seder use when a Jew was completely absurd about something, and it is used quite often in my ethnic diverse neighborhood. My question would be, while Michelle Malkin is willing to criticize immigrants, or expired Visas, why would she never recognize her own parents actions when she was born? It has nothing to with her race, it has everything to do with her criticisms of other immigrants, and her "venomous" comments on their status.

Posted by: Ghost of Wellstone at June 4, 2009 2:34 PM

I'd say GoW was being stupid ... issues of right and wrong, issues of what policies are better than other policies ... exist independently of the person making the case. Or I should say, the logic of argument and the strength of facts are more important than the history of the person making them. (The exact opposite of what liberals believe.)

But the I remember, GoW is a left-wing progressive and doesn't really want Michelle Malkin to debate. He wants her to shut up so he doesn't have to debate her. So he drags out some irrelevant factoid from her past and says, "You are not allowed to argue against birthright citizenship because you benefited from it."

Similarly, George Michael is not allowed to make a case against public sex in toilets, and Boy George is not allowed to make any case against chaining people up in his apartment. The conceit is that there is no objective right or wrong, no objective best policy, just different people's perspectives.

By this reasoning, Joy Behar's opinion that "baptism = waterboarding" is more valid than Michelle Malkin's opinion on birthright citizenship precisely because Joy Behar is ignorant of either, and so does not carry the taint of experience.

GoW, wouldn't it be more to the point to appreciate individuals for who they are as individuals rather than focusing on their race or religion? Isn't that what Martin Luther King Jr. was "dreaming" about? IMO, most liberals have a very forced approach to racial relations and their obsessing about diversity actually works against creating a colorblind society.

Posted by: Judith M. at June 4, 2009 6:51 PM

Unicorn, nothing mature to ad to the conversation? Judith, the point was something venomous Michelle Malkin waxes on about, immigration is one of them. I happen to agree with you on MLK, but we are not there yet. This site is a good example where derogatory terms are thrown about for a giggle, without considering that some are offended by language that was acceptable 40+ years ago, or gay jokes, etc. We still have a bigoted society, and the more we all work at it, the result is likely better...or by some of the folks standards here, we can chose to ignore it and continue to let it fester.

Sk, ummm, I think a good example would MM's reference to The Nation writers as "chickenshit", yet she ran from little old Max Blumenthal at CPAC in 2007 when he approached her about her book "In Defense of Interment", which justified what was done to Japanese-Americans, and saying it's what we should should do to Muslim Americans during the War on Terror. Her book was full of errors by her own account and if she believes internment was a good thing, why not sign a photo Manzanar? Smearing "Women for Kerry " in 2004 on Fox News, this has repeatedly done in a widely circulated blog and on tv, what many of you accuse me of doing...smear whoever does not agree with you.
