Vet's Marine Corps Stickers Deemed a Violation

After 9/11, moonbats were forced to look at a whole lot of patriotism. But no longer, now that the cultural tide seems to have turned. In Dallas, a homeowners association won't even tolerate Marine Corps decals on a veteran's truck:

Frank Larison is a disabled veteran with more than 14 years of service, including more than a year of combat duty in Vietnam.
The 58-year-old former Marine now finds himself under attack by his Dallas homeowners association for displaying seven decals on his vehicle supporting the Marine Corps. … The board says the decals are advertisements that violate HOA rules, and must be covered or removed.
Otherwise, the homeowners association for The Woodlands II on The Creek — where Larimore has lived for eight years — says in a letter it will tow the car at Larimore's expense. The board also threatens to fine him $50 for any future incident.
Larimore says the decals, ranging from the Marine emblem to Semper Fi slogans, aren't advertisements for anything. "You can't buy freedom," he reasoned.

No, but you can throw it away.

I saw this at MichaelSavage.com if I'm not mistaken. I can't believe this is coming out of Texas of all states. This is definitely a violation of freedom of speech. If they try to tow his car I hope that he fights back for illegal seizure of private property. I'll bet he has a gun. If I were him I'd sell the house to an illegal alien or some other undesirable and move out.

Anyone who moves into an HOA community is asking for trouble.

They are run by "community organizers", just like the Tumor in Chief.

Amen to that, Jimbo!

Here is a video interview of him.

I feel sorry for the HOA, they are outnumbered. The USMC is its own special religion, baptized in battle, tempered by sweat, and forged in blood.

FYI- he was on a local radio show last week, and in the course of the discussion it was also revealed that the folks in his 'hood with Obama stickers have not been subjected to similar treatment. Apparently, icons of the most massive marketing campaign in history are not considered 'advertising.'

The moonbat prez of the hoa that sent the letter is a piece of work democrat contributor and activist by the name of Darendra Hardy. Several blog poster have posted her address as well as an email contact and telephone number both of which she has now closed down.
Reports are Darendra has left town and can not be reached. It seems we have another Susan Roesgen story!
We should all love and understand those tolerant free thinking lib democrap totalitarians. By the name I would guess Darendra is a joint gift of afirmative action and Carter's Community Reinvestment Act to that Dallas condo development.

Too bad he can't give the place to a gang of crack heads or meth addicts.

HOA usually back down when faced with a lawsuit, and the people responsible usually lose their jobs.

I hope this man sues.

What, no snarky comments from the usual trolls?

Posted by: hiram at May 31, 2009 7:49 PM

A homeowners' association taken over by these typically fascistic libs who want no reminder that they live in a free country (at least for a little while longer) thanks to the service of millions now, in the past and in the future, in the various branches of the United States military.

Of course, this hack Ms. Hardy will be the one screaming the loudest for the Marines to save her worthless ass when her own or her family's lives are threatened by Islamonazis or any other evil out there in the real world (unlike Mizz Hardy's cloistered, cocooned little alternative reality at her pleasant, safe (for now, anyway) little condo in Dallas; no doubt her car has at least one, and probably several, Obama/Biden 2008 stickers on it).

Hope the Marines say they "just can't make it out there this time. Sorry! Maybe you can kill a few evil-doers on your own, eh?"

Or, maybe not . . .

It truly is a mental disorder w/ an emphasis on spite.

I remember right after 9/11, I had a moonbat co-worker whose kid asked her they could put up an American flag like her neighbors had. After thinking on it for a while she told her kid no because of all the bad America had done in the world and she didn't want to be seen as "jingoistic and reflexive patriot".

Sick I mean... just f'n sick and conflicted these types. My head hurts now.

Perchance now, especially with the reversal of roles demonstrated by Pravda, it's time to reconsider a man who so frightened the Left that they directed all their efforts to maligning him, and this they did so successfully that even right-wingers, to their shame, use his name as a smear: Joseph McCarthy.

The Western mind, raised most certainly on a diet of Leftist tenets, will surely protest. Yet the Western mind would do well to ponder that man's warnings--of the danger of a Socialist takeover of America--and answer, to oneself, the question, "Which of these warnings has not come to pass?"

And then one realizes he has been taken for a ride for a long time--more than half a century, to be exact--of which the rise of Obamarx to power is only the culmination.

And then, also, soci-cons and fisca-cons will stop blaming each other for the fall of the American Right, and unite to undo the Long March--to get the Marxists out of academe, where they incubate the next generation of voters, and the media, where they make sure the masses know only what they wish them to know.

That's a lot of work, but the alternative, the fall of the Republic to the Reds and/or the Greens (the color not only of the environazis, but also of the Islamofascists), is much, much worse.

ALWAYS SUSPECTED TEXAS WAS UN-AMERICAN!

Posted by: Jean Porter at June 1, 2009 5:00 AM

The phone number has been disconnected. When will these anti-American moonbats ever learn anything? Did it not cross their peabrains that a public outcry would ensue? Why don't they ever THINK. THINGS. THROUGH.

Usual bullies. They think they can impose their value system on others, until someone challenges them. Then they scuttle back under their rocks.

Everyone should move out allow a whole bunch of drug addicts and drunkards to move in trash the homes and leave their housing athority jerks with a bunch of ruined worthless buildings and bankrupt as well

I hope Frank's neighbors rally and bring torches and pitchforks to the HOA prez's home in the dark of night. The HOA board member who was not aware of the problem should resign and take Frank's side. Sounds like Texas needs a Homeowner's Bill of Rights. Colorado's HOAs were taken down several notches about four years ago, when the state legislature passed a law that forbids HOAs from taking such drastic measures. Among the basic protections for homeowners in HOA communities are the right to display an American flag, displaying political signs (up to 45 days prior to an election and removed within 7 days after and election), the right to xeriscape a yard, and other simple, basic things that non HOA residents enjoy without bullying tactics.

A "no advertsing" clause in the rules and regulations is vague at best. I hope this guy sues and heads roll.

hoa's are the worst.I live in the country for that very reason. Nazihood assoc wont tell me to pick up dogdo and not change my own oil. This brave man will prevail.
SEMPER FI SIR!!
That is all

Posted by: czuch at June 1, 2009 8:22 AM

I lived in a CT neighborhood with an HOA. It was ruled by the biggest of bunch of bitches and nazis you can imagine. So, a group of us who were reasonable, friendly, decent people affected a coup and overthrew the evil regime for good and ever since. I was treasurer. God, that was FUN!

Posted by: Karin at June 1, 2009 9:02 AM

So, the MSM thinks that an HHR (Chevy car that gets near 30 mpg) is an SUV?

OK, that is not the point of this, but really, an SUV?

I agree with Jimbo on a self inflicted wound by moving into a HOA controlled environment.

I bet they would allow the 70s chickek footprint logo so popular with the 70s drug culter

Yeah, as a Marine myself, God help any tow truck driver who would attempt to tow my vehicle off my own property. The only question that would come from my mouth is, "Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

He should demand that all vehicle manufacturer's emblems be removed from every driveway in the neighborhood. Come to think of it, since I'm now in the business of selling tires for a major American company that is owned by a Japanese company of similar sounding name, one of the BEST advertising implements that tire manufacturers have for SUVs and trucks is raised white letters on the sidewall. Nothing is a better endorsement of a product than having your brand name prominently displayed on someone's private property. Goodyear, Bridgestone, Firestone, Cooper, Michelin, Pirelli... they all do it.

Time to demand ONLY blackwall tires in the neighborhood, and removal of car emblems so that everyone looks like some 2 Fast 2 Furious retard with a 3 series BMW who thinks by removing the emblem everyone will think it's a 5 series.

If he isnt getting paid its not advertisement.
Its his own right to be proud of what he has over come with his battle for life in and out of the CORP. so i say to this fellow marine SEMPER FI! MARINE carry on.

Posted by: CPL Stone at June 2, 2009 4:04 PM

Just a word from a Democrat. I think this man should be allowed to keep his stickers on his vehicle. If they insist that he remove them, then everyone with a bumper sticker for a political campaign, radio station, and even those stating that their child is an honor student at whatever school should be made to remove those as well. I know that homeowners associations exist to keep a certain level of "class" in their neighborhoods, but to get that picky is downright pathetic. This isn't a liberal or conservative issue, this is an issue of people who want to preserve a look of classism. When did the Homeowners Associations become Fuedal lords?

Posted by: Democrat in Arkansas at June 6, 2009 5:58 AM

This is BS! The homeowners Association has not right to tow the vehicle from his driveway. I would have an attorney check the HOA records of deed restirction violations to see how many others are in violation, the one advertising peace, supporting policital candidates, save the whales, etc....This is BS! Come and tow my vehicle with MY MARINE CORPS stickers and I'll give you what for from the end of my flash suppressor!! SEMPER FI!
