Dem Numbers Already Sliding
Comrade Obama has been working his magic on the electorate. From Gallop:

Not exactly a mandate to radically transform America, is it?
Reality is only now beginning to settle in. As the damage Chairman Zero and his merry band of leftist zealots have been doing to our country filters through their media accomplices and hits us in the wallets, look for Dem numbers to go into a tailspin in plenty of time for the 2010 elections. All Republicans need are candidates who can stay true to conservative principles and stand up to the inevitable MSM smear campaigns.
On a tip from Oiao.

All well and good, except Obama's approval ratings have stayed a sixty plus for months now. I know that after Bush approval ratings above 20% are tough to swallow, but his mandate for change remains.

It is true that a man (a silly man) might make change itself his object or ideal. But as an ideal, change itself becomes unchangeable. If the change-worshipper wishes to estimate his own progress, he must be sternly loyal to the ideal of change; he must not begin to flirt gaily with the ideal of monotony. Progress itself cannot progress. It is worth remark, in passing, that when Tennyson, in a wild and rather weak manner, welcomed the idea of infinite alteration in society, he instinctively took a metaphor which suggests an imprisoned tedium. He wrote --
"Let the great world spin for ever down the ringing grooves of change."
He thought of change itself as an unchangeable groove; and so it is. Change is about the narrowest and hardest groove that a man can get into.
~G.K. Chesterton.
Also, you may love your prom king, but real Americans would like results, not a popularity contest, as this post clearly shows.

I forgot that 60% plus of Americans are fake; you'd think that maintaining so many fake people (what are they, robots, cyborgs, puppets?) would help create some jobs after the recession the Republicans left us with. That said, a G. K. Chesterton quote deserves respect, how bout another?
"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being corrected"

Fake Americans? What are you on about?
That quote is good as well, and true even in this country and this day and age. I like this one:
When a politician is in opposition he is an expert on the means to some end; and when he is in office he is an expert on the obstacles to it.
But my favorite by far:
Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions.

Ben, I seem to remember Carter's approval numbers being right about where Obama's are at this stage of his Presidency. I also remember watching Reagan carry 49 states at the end of Carter's first term.
Oh, and ummm.....
"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes from being repeated over and over again"
There. Fixed it for ya.

Bad numbers for the demacreeps too bad but their own taxing and spending and regulation and pandering to liberal special interest groups could hopfuly cost them next year

well, you said real Americans like results, so I assumed that meant the 60% who approve of Obama must be fake Americans. Good quotes though.

Rasmussen has him more like 54-56% on any given day for months now. Don't round up, that's a lot of people. Then, Ras asks about specific issues, and they come down flat against (sometimes by 80%) O's policies.
The plurality may approve, at least somewhat, of the man himself and his symbolism; but they dislike his socialist policies. Hence the shift you see in Gallup, also corroborated nearly exactly with Rasmussen.
Ben, we don't choose a new prez in 2010, we choose new critters. A lot of people don't want to admit buyer's remorse to themselves just yet on Obama, but they also don't like the feeling of being steamrolled.

Thanks VH. You've illustrated once again that one should NOT be misled to think this site is anything but a Republican echo chamber.
The numbers themselves are too volatile to support your analysis, and Cowlove's, unless you're seeing what you WANT to see. For example, I must have missed the post a month or so ago that interpreted the numbers then as "Republicans hit new low in numbers; rats deserting leaky ship." What other interpretation could there be when it's an 11 point gap in the straight numbers, and a 19 point gap in the "leaning" numbers?

Obama didn't win in a landslide. The election was actually pretty close. And it's hard to imagine an easier opponent than old John McCain.
Despite those facts, Obama continues to act like an insufferable arrogant bully. Can anyone imagine a U.S. president telling a Congressman from his own Party who puts his constituents' interests first: "Don't think we're not keeping score, brother."
0bama should remember Thomas Jefferson’s dictum: “Great innovations should not be forced on slender majorities.”

Seems to me that the demacrats numbers were falling even before the election last year

It doesn't really matter which side of the fence you are on anymore folks. This is what were in for. Just a FYI to those that don't know...
The IMF is basically the international arm of the Federal Reserve. The IMF will put the finishing touches on the financial segment of the NWO. This has gone perfectly to plan. This is the first move on the agenda of Bilderberg since the meeting that took place May 14-17th. There will be a few more calculated moves. One that will more than likely come up soon is the ICC bill will be back up on the chopping block. Obama will make sure that he sells it well to Congress. This ICC bill will put international law before the Constitution. Once this happens buckle up. It means things will get ugly quickly. Timing is going to be crucial going forward. Geithner has his marching orders and so does his counterparts in other countries. The good thing for us is that some of the moves that have to be made will be tough to conceal. We will have some warning before things really start hitting the fan. It won't happen completely overnight. The ICC bill is a big one though to be on the lookout for. I am curious to know how they will present the ICC bill. How could you possibly sugar coat such a huge breach of national sovereignty? Obama is the perfect person to sell it though if you think about it. All that "citizen of the world" talk makes him the perfect person to sell it.
Does ANYONE not understand this?
Liberals wanted change.......were gonna get more change than anyone bargained for....
