A Night Out for the Most Equal of All Animals
While we little people struggle to earn enough to pay our taxes during these dismal economic times, Comrade Obama and his bride took a little time off from nationalizing industries to go out on a date:
President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama landed in New York Saturday afternoon, and after taking a helicopter from JFK into Manhattan, drove up the West Side Highway, where the northbound lanes were shut down by police for their visit, past Ground Zero, into the Village for dinner at the Village's Blue Hill restaurant. From there, they went north to Times Square, where they went to to see a production of "Joe Turner's Come and Gone" at the Belasco Theater on West 44 Street. …
Asked about the cost of the trip, which Republicans have criticized as indulgent, coming just ahead of the expected announcement of GM's bankruptcy filing on Monday, Josh Earnest told pool reporter Dave Michaels of the Dallas Morning News, that he "didn't anticipate being able to provide a cost estimate tonight."
Afterwards, police shut down Sixth Avenue so that our ruling twain could have it all to themselves on the way back to JFK airport. Obama's plane was accompanied by two others filled with staff and reporters.
I won't make enough money in my entire life to pay for this little extravagance, but apparently other taxpayers still have plenty of money. If not, Chairman Zero can just print some more, while the rest of us tighten our belts.

What do you imagine the carbon footprint of that trip is? Eh, don't worry about it. The One is not bound by the rules he wants the rest of us to live by.

We are in a bad economy and these two like to jet set around the country. They live in the white house for pete's sake. They can have what ever they want there and then go up to the Lincoln bed room and do the Obama mama thing. This looks bad. They get all the wining, dining, fucking, and sucking while the rest of us are working our asses of to pay for this elitist behavior.

Former President George W. Bush had his faults, to be sure, and he also had the sort of humility that the office demands.
Here's an example from the Washington Post (Staff Writer Dan Eggen, 14 May 2008)
In 2003 President Bush gave up golfing "in solidarity" with the families of soldiers who were dying in Iraq, concluding that it was "just not worth it anymore" to play the sport in a time of war.
"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf," Bush said. "I feel I owe it to the families to be as -- to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."
Bush said he decided to stop playing golf on Aug. 19, 2003, when a truck bomb in Baghdad killed U.N. special representative Sergio Vieira de Mello and more than a dozen others.
He said he received word of the attack while playing golf during a stay at the family ranch near Crawford, Tex. Press reports at the time indicate he took the call from Condoleezza Rice, then his national security adviser.
President Bush said, "They pulled me off the golf course, and I said it's just not worth it anymore to do,"
The Loopy, Loony, Lying, Lemming-Like Leftist Liberal Losers Have done nothing but ridicule former President Bush for this, from questioning the truth of the claim, the sincerity, or questioning the real value of it. They will never, ever admit that this sort of gesture was totally consistent with his nature and his lifestyle - for evidence of that, just compare GWB's place in Crawford with "Eco-Warrior" Al Gore's mansion.
As for Laura Bush - you'd have to go a long way to find much of anything to criticize - she was a First Lady worthy of the term.
Contrast this with the current occupants of the White House. We're facing what President Obama calls the 'worst economic crisis in history', yet he's burning Jet-A / JP-4 like it's going out of style (and telling US that for US it IS going out of style).
So far, the current First Couple has shown themselves to be the most crass and truly clueless pair that has has ever made it into the White House, and that includes the Clintons. They were criminals, but at least they weren't amatuers.
As Spurwing says, the current First Couple thinks they are "royalty" and above all such considerations.

A first lady worthy of the term? Tell that to the family of Michael Dutton Douglas.

Does Obama have boots on in that picture?
It doesn't look like it, but his pantleg sure sticks out as if he's got boots on..
Maybe he's packin' a midnight special in an ankle strap.

Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer were all brutal killers. I seriously doubt anyone other than the most mentally ill or perverse would have mourned their deaths had they been snuffed out before they could murder even one (more) innocent soul.
I do hope Tiller had a chance to get right with God. Otherwise, I suspect he is somewhere quite unpleasant right now.

RE: TonyD95B At least obumble had the decency to ban the media from the links so he wouldn't be seen playing golf on Memorial Day!
And in honor of the good Dr. tiller, couldn't we just write it off as a rather late term abortion?

Don't worry. Archbishop Rowan Pigswilliams will defend the President from 'democracy-damaging' criticism.

What's the matter with Fords theatre right there in Washington? I hear Lincoln loved it. Nooo, he's gotta go all the way to NYC for a show.

Wow. I wonder what date night cost the taxpayers?
I could have a date night I guess if I could find a nice lady who would just love to come over and eat beans and franks and watch my old tv. Hard to describe how angry it makes one who is living on nothing to see this dork pissing away more money in one evening than I'll make this year. Damn, I really hate these people.

I read that it cost in the $250,000 ballpark when you add up all the expenses.
