Unhinged Leftist Harold Koh Nominated for State Department Legal Advisor
Not even the Moonbat Messiah can destroy America single-handedly. But with his power to make appointments likely to be rubber-stamped by Nazi Pelousy's loony-left Congress, he won't have to. Harold Koh gives an idea of what kind of Supreme Court justices we have to look forward to.
Obama nominated Koh on March 23 to become the State Department's legal adviser — an appointment that, if confirmed by the Senate, will give Koh far-reaching influence over the extent to which international norms affect U.S. law. …
Koh, like Obama, is a strong opponent of the Iraq war and the use of harsh interrogation techniques that some consider torture. He has fiercely criticized former President George W. Bush for invading Iraq in 2003 and has accused the Bush administration of trying to "block public release of more Abu Ghraib type pictures."
An example of the rhetoric Foe spewed during wartime, from an article in a law journal:
We should resist the claim that a War on Terror permits the commander in chief's power to be expanded into a wanton power to act as torturer in chief.
Another gem from his published oeuvre:
What role can transnational legal process play in affecting the behavior of several nations whose disobedience with international law has attracted global attention after September 11th — most prominently, North Korea, Iraq and our own country, the United States of America? For shorthand purposes, I will call these countries "the axis of disobedience."
Faux clearly loathes America, which he accuses of failing to "obey global norms." The "transnational legal process" he wants us to submit to would allow corrupt foreign dictators to overrule our laws. He would have us subjected not only to the antidemocratic and anti-American ICC, but also shariah, although he now denies the latter.
As John Fonte of the Hudson Institute observes,
Under Koh's plan, the Constitution would become secondary and international law would take precedence regardless of what Americans said about the matter.
Most alarming of all, Koh has allegedly "received more than 30 awards for his human rights work." The term "human rights" has degenerated into a euphemism for left-wing extremism.
Even at the State Department, which is infamous for siding with any country against the one it is supposed to represent, Koh's nomination is pushing the envelope over the edge. No one can credibly deny that America is now governed by its enemies.

I was worried when BO got elected. I was scared with his cabinet nominations and spending/borrowing spree. I now am terrified for my children who will never grow up in the America I grew up in.

Clowns like this never spout off about real criminals like Kim Jong Il, the Iranian cabal, Robert Mugabe, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.
Why is that?
I would want this clown doing my laundry or cooking my General Tso's Chicken let alone listen to him whine about the U.S.

Is it both the House and Senate that needs to pass, or just the Senate? This is an extremely dangerous man. I know we're sick of calling and writing, but we have to do something!!

We have never obeyed 'Global Norms'
In 1775 it was the Global Norm for people to be ruled over by kings. No colony had aver achieved Independence.
In 1939, the New Global Norm was fascism, the 'wave of the future.
In 1979, the new Global Norm was communism. It was gaining ground rapidly, and would have been totally dominant within 10 years.
We don't follow Global Norms, we set them.

I googled "Confirmation Process Harold Koh" and guess what? They direct you to moonbats trying to refute the controversy. I'm so sick of google. This morning I tried "Dan Hannan" and they wouldn't "finish" it, they kept trying to lead me to "Dan Hanover" and such nonsense.

It's just the senate. I don't know when it is, though.
Applause to Ricardo for his post.

George W. Bush’s invasion of Iraq: From the 57 months of 20 March 2003 until end 2008, using the Iraq Body Count estimate, a total of 98,882 Iraqi civilians died as a result of the war and occupation. That is a rate of 1735.772 deaths per month. The overwhelming majority of these deaths were caused not by US military forces following Bush’s orders, but by Islamic militants and terrorists.
Saddam Hussein’s reign: From the 286 months of Saddam Hussein’s reign from 16 July 1979 to 9 April 2003, using just six of the war crime events listed by U.S. War Crimes Ambassador David J. Scheffer, a total of 865,000 Iraqis civilians died as the result of Saddam’s ethnic cleansing, political oppression and ‘arrests’. That is a rate of 3024.476 deaths per month… 1.742 times greater than Bush’s death rate. This figure does not count the deaths of non-Iraqis, nor the casualties suffered during the wars against Iran and Kuwait, nor the countless other documented human rights abuses Saddam committed.
Bill Clinton era embargo: From the 108 months of 6 August 1990 to 6 August 1999, using the United Nations estimate, a total of 1 million Iraqi civilians died as result of the sanctions. Of these, as many as 567,000 of the casualties were children. That is a rate of 9259.259 deaths per month… 5.334 times greater than Bush’s death rate.
Justify that, anti-war liberal Democrats.
(Clinton actually only gained the Presidency on 20 January 1993, but the sanctions also lasted past the date of the UN estimate - to 22 May 2003, while Clinton stepped down on 20 January 2001.)
