The number of people who die as a result of DUI's and gun deaths (involving one person killing another, excluding suicide) are about the same. Yet do we hear liberals saying people who drive should be banned from consuming alcohol/drugs or people who consume alcohol/drugs should have their drivers licenses revoked and cars taken away?

Norman complains that people who believe in the 2nd amendment are kooks and they believe criminals and psychopaths should own guns - how many actually do? Almost none. As for the bugaboo AK-47 - how many people (outside of black gangs) actually use these to kill other people in the US? Again, almost none. Most use cheap pawn shop hand guns or just steal the guns.

The funny thing about moonbats like Norman is that when that crackpot Mixon in California offed 4 cops they mention nothing about it. Its only when its a crazed white guy with "strange political views" they get all up in arms about it. Granted the guy who killed those 3 cops should get a speedy trial followed by a speedy execution. It should be required that people like Norman have a sign in their front yard: "THERE ARE NO FIREARMS IN THIS HOUSE". After a week I suspect they may have a new attitude about the 2nd ammendment.

I am not aware of anyone on the side of the 2nd ameendment who thinks criminals should have guns.

It's debatable whether or not that is a good thing. See, DNA evidence linked Mixon to the rape of a 12- year- old girl. Had he survived and been brought in, he would have undoubtedly been given additional jail time for that. Then, when his fellow inmates learned he was a child molestor, they would have made his life a living Hell every day until he would have been begging for death.

What about pools?

A close, DETAILED look at the Bill Of Rights will show that most of them are linked to the rights of the PROPERTY OWNER, the Second Ammendment was designed to recognise one's right to defend his/her property and life. Since the Liberal judges insist that they are supposed to consider foreign law when deciding cases in America, they should consider THIS: there was a law in England around the time of the ratification of the US Constitution where a citizen could be FINED if he could have PREVENTED A CRIME in progress but failed to do so.

The gun rights people should get together with the drug rights people and make a clear case for removing government regulation of dangerous activities. Maybe you can get mountain climbers and cheer-leading squads to join you (since those activities are more dangerous than shooting guns while on drugs).

I think we should have guns available as a public safety tool, just like fire extinguishers... so when you need one, it's right there for the concerned christian citizen to grab for an emergency... that way we'll all be safer for sure. Yabetcha!

No, that's insane!

What we should really do, is make it really difficult for law-abiding citizens of good character to obtain or carry guns legally, so that there is a much higher proportion of criminals and crazy people carrying guns they bought on the black market than there are responsible citizens carrying guns they purchased legally.

That way, when some crazy person decides to start shooting everyone in sight, there won't be anyone who can stop him.

Oldcrow, um... the Revolutionary War started in earnest in response to a British attempt at gun control. Also, archaeological digs of former slave quarters in the south routinely turn up gun parts (flints, powderhorns, small parts of flintlock mechanisms, etc.). It's theorized that the slaves were allowed to keep guns to augment their rations by hunting.

So, no. Gun control isn't racist. It's an economic thing. In both instances, it boiled down to one group trying to exert ECONOMIC domination over another group by controlling the right to defend ones person and property from abuse and theft. Now, why is it the liberals want to take my guns away? For my 'safety'?
