Stop the Presses: Democrat Tells Truth

Now I've seen everything. But then, John Dingell (D-MI) is required to have occasion lapses into lucidity, because he represents not only moonbats, but the auto industry. Addressing none other than the Goracle, Dingleberry calls a spade a spade regarding the "cap and trade" swindle:

The money quote:

Nobody in this country realizes that cap and trade is a tax, and it's a great big one.

Here I was thinking that Comrade Obama was going to lower taxes as promised.

On a tip from Viking04.

Don't these idiots realize that this cap and tax fraud has already collapsed in the EU?

IT HAS FAILED IN THE EU.

OK, now it is the USA Democratic Party's turn to be loosers who implement prooven failed tax schemes.

Since Soros is having such a nice recession, I wonder how much he stands to make off of this.

Everyone knows Gore stands to make out, literally, like a bandit. But, I just can not see him being smart enough to be more than a mouthpiece for someone, sorry, I just can not see it. I seriously doubt that Gore is the only contributor to the DNC who stands to get extremely rich from the global warming scam, and I seriously doubt he will be the one of them who makes the most.

That's half the truth, here's the other half: Cap and Trade will result in a net increase in carbon emissions as industry is off-shored to countries like Brazil, Mexico, and China.

And it will result in the loss of at least 1.5 million jobs.

I have a related theory I'd like to bounce off y'all. I watched a PBS special (yeah, I watch it) about the glacier in the Himalayas that feeds the Ganges, and how it's rate of recession has accelerated over the last few decades. They go on and on about global warming, but never mention another possibility which occurred to me; most likely because they're wearing CO2 blinders & aren't even considering that it might be something else.

This glacier is, naturally, in the vicinity of India. Here is a picture from NASA showing India near the Himalayas; the red areas are agricultural fires (this area is the "breadbasket" of India, and provides about 2/3 of the nations food). Prevailing winds are from west to east. Notice the dense cloud of smoke.

Now go back to the PBS site and take a closer look at the glacier. Dirty sumbitch, isn't it?

Finally, as an experiment, put two ice cubes in the afternoon sun. Cover one with a fine layer of black pepper. See which one melts first.

My theory here is that the glaciers and snowcaps that seem to be receding quickly (Kilimanjaro is another) are downwind from places that produce a lot of particulate matter pollution. The US and Europe brought this to almost nil a long time ago, while China, India, and other "developing" areas pour out untold TONS of smoke every year from plain old fires and outdated or unregulated plants and power generation. The resulting soot lands on the glacier, reducing it's albedo effect, and voila. How's that second ice-cube doing?

If cap and trade passes, and industry is forced out of the US to places where the locals don't give a shit about particulate pollution, this problem is actually going to accelerate.

If I'm right, it's another example of the Law of Unintended Consequences coming back to bite the moonbats on their ass.

hiram:

Don't bring up the truth to moonbats. Their heads may explode. Upon reflection, previous brain damage explains what passes for moonbat logic.

Dingell may be a Democrat, but his voters live and work in the state of Michigan. He knows this "cap and trade" idea will devastate the tattered remnant of manufacturing in Michigan. As Tip O'Neill once said, all politics is local.

Hiram, not only will it accelerate in that case, they will use that acceleration as evidence that either their action was too late or just not enough, and that they're not doing unto us hard enough yet. And round and round it goes.

The Plover is right.

It's all a Bait and Switch. Lower taxes on your EZ FORM (which the Left will tout for generations to come), and increase taxation intake pretty much everywhere else.

Thus allowing him and his supporters to say with all honesty that he lowered your taxes and accomplished various programs (pork and policy) from the campaign.

Try to tell your average Sheeple though, and...
