Still More Obama Diplomacy Follies

The diplomatic ineptitude from the Obamination Administration just doesn't stop. Shrieking harpy Michelle Obama has now hugged the Queen of England, committing a major faux pas that Her Majesty graciously smoothed over.

What could be more inappropriate (other than giving the Queen a second iPod as a gift)? How about our Affirmative Action President bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia?

Even liberals will soon admit that there is egg running down the country's face as a result of Obama's farcical election.

By presenting his best face to the camera, Obama puts the "moon" in Moonbat Messiah.

On tips from Byron.

This is truly a WTF moment.

Contrast Obama's behavior with what the media all gasped over when George Bush accidentally (then immediately corrected) said "1776" rather than "1976." Of course, when he corrected it, he did it with "off the cuff" humor that we're not likely to see from The One.

He had to pay tribute, he fully realizes that 80% of his campaign contributions came directly from the oil profits being made last year. Of course that wasn't in the news. The truth is he wasn't bowing, he was passing over the leash of the baby unicorn he was gifting to the king (we can't see it because it's invisible to conservatives).

Posted by: Eric at April 2, 2009 11:19 AM

You retards really take the cake. The Idiot Bush actually held hands with the King....and you all said nothing about this.

You know why his approval rating is so high? Look at the alternatives.

Keep up the ratshit crazy. Especially the whole "birth certificate" scam. It makes you all look totally level-headed and mature and gives the voters confidence you've got your heads screwed on. Doesn't make any of you look like lunatics whatsoever, no siree.

Ok, Timpundit. We'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Tim,
Insulting those you would persued in the first sentace of your argument is very consistant with the type of diplomacy we have seen from your messiah, well done! There may be a place for you in the state department (if you aren't already there).

Men holding hands in the middle east is a sign of friendship amoung equals. Bowing is a gesture of subordination in any culture.

It makes one wonder where all of those un-tracable, on line credit card contributions to His "O"lliness came from.

Here is today's approval ratings from Rasmussen:
Date
Presidential Approval Index +5
Strongly Approve 35
Strongly Disapprove 30
Total Approve 56
Total Disapprove 44

This represents a drop in his Presidential Approval Index of 6x (down from a high of +30) since he has been in office. Four out of ten Americans disapprove of the current resident of the White House, ratings are not so high after all.

Actually it is a "certificate of live birth" scam, that is the unoffical document his "O"lliness presented in leiu of a birth certificate. I wonder which he is the most ashamed of, his actual birth certificate, or his grades in college?

And thanks again for reminding us why it is called the "unhinged" left.

Timpundit at April 2, 2009 11:25 AM

Holding hands signifies friendship. Bowing signifies submission.

Posted by: 7he7th7rumpet at April 2, 2009 11:40 AM

Looks like an expensive suit.

Anybody in the media ever look into the cost of his wardrobe? Not that I have anything against expensive suits, but it sure seemed to be a big deal when Palin wore expensive clothes.

Posted by: forest at April 2, 2009 11:42 AM

wow, that is really humiliating for our country. I truly hope he just slipped or something.

Posted by: mega at April 2, 2009 12:07 PM

Since he bowed to that rag-head, expect him to give Hugo Chavez a public blowjob.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 12:23 PM

Tisk, tisk, Anon, His "O"lliness would never forget the proper protocol for his fellow travelors here in the western hemisphere. Chavez is the junior man and so only get L1 (handjob), Papa Castro gets the L2 (BJ).

I once heard a working girl asked what it tasted like going down on a guy as old as Castro. . . "depends" was her one word answer.

Posted by: JustAl at April 2, 2009 12:36 PM

"Even liberals will soon admit that there is egg running..." Yeah, well, I wish. The common people who post comments on the MSN news stories won't admit that. They had a story about Michelle accosting the Queen, and the obamabots said "Ah how sweet" and so forth. God they're so ignorant.
The mods there declined to publish my response.

Posted by: Karin at April 2, 2009 1:22 PM

Un-believable.
Bowing to a King who presides over the country that sent us the 9-11 terrorists. Even liberals ought to be able to see the problem here.
And of course the historical irony of the POTUS bowing to a king would have totally and completely escaped BO and his cadre of ignorant liberals who probably advised the dumb rube.
AND its a full out-and-out almost down on one knee bow. Not just a quick head lowering. (Clueless)

Okay, so with the videos to the PM, the iPOD (probably loaded with obscenity-chocked rap) to the Queen, and now this genuflection, it is probably clear even to his dribbling staff that the man is totally out of his league... as is his stupid, semi-literate, grasping, Opra-watching wife. (imagine if Sarah Palin had manhandled the Queen in her excitement to finally be in the presence of Genuine Royalty) Michelle probably thought the Queen was going to hug her back and jump up and down screaming with her.

Bo's handlers definitely need to keep him and his wife caged up within the U.S. This is disgraceful.

I imagine that sooner rather than later, historians in writing about the decline of America, will wonder how it was that 52% of the voting public of the most powerful, progressive nation on earth, could have been so completely persuaded by a man with nothing but dark skin color, resonant voice and a teleprompter on his resume.

Posted by: Fiberal at April 2, 2009 1:49 PM

Any good American would never respect a monarch. Monarchy is the epitome of anti-American.

But I wouldn't expect the big O to know that.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 2:18 PM

Once again he makes a fool of of himself. I don't like this empty suite representing this great nation. He makes us look weak.

0bama is a definite fuckup and the iPod was completely, but no touching of the Queen? That's just a silly rule from a dead time. She isn't some sacred cow, just an old bat. And yes the Bush's did some stupid things, Laura in a burqua comes to mind, but the, "Well, Bush did this..." defense of Chairman 0's ignorance is not only irrelevant, but also pretty tired. Just my 0.02

Your two cents is well-received. I should have seen it coming, but I really didn't think that the Obamunists would defend their master by comparing him to the dumbest person ever to walk the earth (to hear them tell it).

There is no point in reasoning with people like Timpundit. Obama could kill a toddler on live television with a hammer and their first reaction would be to think of something Bush did 7 years ago.

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 3:40 PM

He makes us look weak.

No Watching, he makes us weak.

His arrogance is his Achilles heel. A good example is the tit-for-tat with Iran earlier in the year.

Obama: We are ready to discard the old ways and meet with you without preconditions.

Ahminijihadi: Sure, as long as you meet these preconditions, asshole...

He got punked, and we got punked by default.

I have an idea of how it will play out, but I'm still waiting to see how he handles the N. Korea situation. NK is a small fry, but a precedent will be set, mark my words.

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 3:47 PM

Ok, I'm trying to be a good conservative but let me see if I got this one right cause it's a bit confusing...

When a republican makes a cultural mistake in a foreign country, it's ok (cause republicans are cool? or is it cause they don't drink lattes, I can't remember).

When a democrat makes a cultural mistake in a foreign country, it's very bad because liberals are dumb.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 4:18 PM

When a republican makes a cultural mistake in a foreign country, it's ok...

Doubtful. Bush wasn't allowed to get away with too much. And if you're talking about the whole hand-holding thing, well, that's been pretty well explained.

As for the rest of your silliness, are you actually admitting Obama made a mistake? That would be an incredible first step...

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 4:25 PM

you mean to tell me that conservatives would jump all over bush for etiquette mistakes? That's doubtful. Every president makes these kind of mistakes.

Looks like this website will take any story and spin it as hard to the right as they can without looking at the facts. Without really thinking, instead relying on your 'common sense'.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 4:37 PM

Every president makes these kind of mistakes.

Even accepting your claim at face value, you end up relegating your savior to the dustbin of history alongside "every president." He was supposed to be different, dude. Hope, change, remember?

Without really thinking, instead relying on your 'common sense'.

It's rare to see a leftist admit that they have no common sense. I, for one, applaud your bravery.

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 4:45 PM

Man, it's going to be a long four years for you guys, isn't it?

No Watching, he makes us weak.

So, bow to some foreign leader = weak America.

Ignore Afghanistan for seven years while the Taliban blossom = strong America.

And you guys honestly wonder why Obama won? I mean, honestly?

Posted by: Xanthippas at April 2, 2009 5:06 PM

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I'm 'left' or think obama is any kind of 'savior'. Perhaps the same place you got all your other wildly accurate assumptions?

I think it's absurd to discredit liberals when they make mistakes while at the same time ignoring conservatives when they make the same mistakes. That kind of outlook just assures you of having a biased view of reality, which of course is the whole point of both conservative and liberal blogs.

I'm skeptical of both liberals and conservatives, cause all they seem to do is spin a story.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 5:06 PM

So, bow to some foreign leader = weak America.

Why do you quote me and then use a different example than I used? Do you have some other explanation of Obama's foreign diplomacy blunders?

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 5:11 PM

and yes I don't believe in the notion of common sense. Many things don't make any sense on the face of it, especially complicated things like geopolitics.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 5:14 PM

Hopey's error is not a cultural misstep. At best, it is a horrendous breach of protocol--US citizens do NOT bow to foreign heads of state. Not for lack of "respect," but because 1) they're not US heads-of-state and 2) America, being a republic, does not have its own monarchs (at least we didn't used to) nor recognize alleigence to foreign monarchs. At worst, it betrays a profound lack of understanding of foreign political affairs. In any case, maybe some kind soul will send the first family Emily Post. Or perhaps the Kennedy School could dispatch a remedial team.

Posted by: ruddie at April 2, 2009 5:16 PM

Posted by: Anonymous at April 2, 2009 5:06 PM

I probably got the idea that you're a leftist from your unthinking scramble to defend anything Obama does. By that same token, I assume he is your personal savior, because your need to defend his every mistake compels you to spend time here, defending him.

If you have a problem with how conservatives, or this site specifically, handled anything Bush did or didn't do during his first or second term, then maybe you should have been here then. As it is, Obama is President, and he's fair game. It's not our fault he's providing the ammunition.

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 5:18 PM

...and yes I don't believe in the notion of common sense.

Yes, Anonymous, we all understood that sentiment earlier. Thanks for being super-ultra-clear that you have no common sense.

Posted by: cowlove at April 2, 2009 5:33 PM

I have no problem critiquing the president, after all it's a great American pastime. I certainly don't agree with much of what Obama does.

My problem is that I think there is much more uncertainty in the world then liberals or conservatives are willing to admit. Each side is scared to admit when they don't know something, because the other side will simply take advantage of it. Sites like this are participating in taking advantage of any small weakness in the opposing political party. This forces the other party to become slimy politicians, or prevents real honest people from rising up the ranks.

Perhaps it's because rush limbaugh is such a good opportunistic attack dog that we have one of the slickest, slimiest politicians in office right now.

Really? You think this site is responsible for the disgusting bags of crap currently infesting our highest offices? For the record, I don't think Obama's missteps have been "small weaknesses." I also don't see how calling politicians out for being corrupt pieces of garbage encourages others to be corrupt pieces of garbage. Enlighten me.

Perhaps it's because rush limbaugh is such a good opportunistic attack dog that we have one of the slickest, slimiest politicians in office right now.

Sure, Rush is such an amazing attack dog that he managed to get Obama elected. Give me a few hours (and a few beers) while I try to understand that logic.

Post modernist mindset - CHECK!
Moral relativist - CHECK!
Situational ethics - CHECK!

The only time things make no common sense is on a subatomic level. In matters of state, for instance, there is ample room for common sense but it is just that there are so few politicians and heads of state that possess it.

You and your ilk were crowing about how much better Obama was going to be and he is just a complete screw up and makes Bush's gaffes look like poetry in motion.

Americans do not bow or kneel to foreign leaders or potentates. It is just that simple.

I know that you sniveling, cowardly, spineless Leftists hate this nation but the rest of us like it just fine. That is why we hate to see this Socialist twit make an ass out of the USA like this.

Another thing you and your liberal jackass friends may want to remember: BUSH ISN'T PRESIDENT ANYMORE!

What we are addressing is what is going on here and now with Chairman Zero and his cabinet of airheads at the helm.

It is the Left's show now, so you better make the next four years count. In 2012, you and yours will be tossed out on your ears.

I've never thought about that one. It's time for me to go, but don't worry, I'll be back :)

In one sentence:

People seem to actually believe the political stories they tell themselves, and that undermines any possibility of them getting close to reality.

No. I don't know how anyone could get the idea that you're a leftist.

The old ad hominem. Whatever.
That you derail the point entirely away from the outrageous display of ignorance and obsequience from the POTUS and the man who carries the modern liberal mantel is another glaring hint.

One more: the tipsy, personalized pattern of your comments seem to suggest that you may not be entirely aware than what you're typing is going out to a public forum.

Let me get this straight. Because medical science doesn't necessarily rely on common sense to treat illness, it logically follows that there is no such thing as common sense? Is that really your argument?

it makes no common sense to bring peace by dropping bombs

Sure it does. We dropped two giant bombs on Japan and that brought peace pretty quickly.

I don't get the impression that anyone here suggested common sense should rule our decision making in every facet of life. That's not even a very good strawman you built.

Posted by: cowlove at April 3, 2009 6:22 AM

I have never seen anything like this outside of a 3 stooges short.

Fact is, I would rather see the Office of the Presidency degraded in the manner Bill Clinton did it with the door to the oval office open while getting service from hefty Monica. At least that was keeping it closer to the vest so to speak.

But no American with any pride or sense of history or protocol should look at this picture of a supplicating U.S. President with anything more than pure gut revulsion.
I am not ex-military but I can imagine the frustration a U.S. soldier must feel when looking at this picture.

BO and his hag-wife are obviously overwhelmed with their inflated idea of Royalty.

That is, there is no real reason that a head of state should need an audience with the Queen. That's simply for the Obama's own egotistic benefit.
Secondly, for an American President to bow before a foreign potentate is simply an act born out of the utmost ignorance, temporary breakdown of a phony charade of composure and lack of a sense of one's own place and position in history.
BO by this disgraceful display of personal weakness portrays to our enemies and allies alike, a decline of the strength of the USA in the world.
Republicans for all their flaws of lassitude and indolence, need to regain their courage and energy and put a conservative back into the Office of the Presidency. Maybe if for no other reason, they might want to try and restore some dignity to this country.

I'd go further: for an American citizen to bow down before a foreign potentate belies his own Americanism.

I lived in the UK for many years, and was involved professionally with various peers of the realm, but never referred to one of them as "Lord" or "Lady." While not making a point of it, I found ways of recasting sentences to avoid the undemocratic honorific.
