100 Days In Office, Coronated Messiah
On his 100th day in office, President Obama will be "crowned" in messianic imagery at New York City's Union Square.
Artist Michael D'Antuono's painting "The Truth" – featuring Obama with his arms outstretched and wearing a crown of thorns upon his head – will be unveiled on April 29 at the Square's South Plaza.
According to a statement released about the portrait, "The 30" x 54" acrylic painting on canvas depicts President Obama appearing much like Jesus Christ on the Cross: atop his head, a crown of thorns; behind him, the dark veil being lifted (or lowered) on the Presidential Seal. But is he revealing or concealing, and is he being crucified or glorified?"

Another reason to secure the borders properly:

Obviously there are other ways for pathogens to cross over, but when you eliminate human carriers who cross over without knowing or caring whether or not they have a deadly disease, you can cut a large part out.

Good idea, Oiao - I just did and in fact bought two of Gary Wolf's books. (As advertised at left.) I'd never heard of him, but both novels sound entertaining as well as educational. Eager to find out if the work lives up to the claim - "it’s Atlas Shrugged meets 1984."

Don't know if "The Ballad of Timothy Geithner" was posted here previously - evidently it's been out for a couple of months, but Anne McKinney, the Libertarian Lady Lawyer from Knoxville has a new parody out. "It's Pelosi" Do NOT miss these!
You can find both HERE, or go directly to her her Youtube channel.

Frost/Nixon, An Excursion into Revisionist Fantasy
I freely concede I’m no movie critic with no pretense of being a Siskel, an Ebert, or a Roeper. I like movies with some action, a shot of titilating romance, involving mixed genders, preferably devoid of leftist propaganda and homosexual themes. Unlike television sitcoms, locating such films is still possible, if increasingly difficult, to find. Despite many reviews to the contrary, Frost/Nixon isn’t one of them.
I have no clue as to why it was honored with 5 Golden Globes and 5 Academy Award nominations except that those tributes were more reflective of Hollywood’s sharp liberal, leftist bent than the merits of the film. Frost/Nixon’s one saving grace was that it was devoid of homosexual characters, attributable to its 1977 setting, when most homosexuals were still in closets as opposed to their current infestation of American society and entertainment venues. Politically, it reeked and oozed liberal propaganda.
The absence of quality in the disjointed Frost/Nixon, which nevertheless was accorded accolades, was superseded by a blatant revisionistic interpretation of history. On top of all that, it was just plain boring, except for Frank Langella’s excellent rendition of the brooding yet brilliant figure of Richard Nixon. As for Michael Sheen, he should have stayed on his own side of the Pond.
Perhaps a swisher or two would have made the difference in Frost/Nixon, as comic figures, and it might have finished ahead of Milk as best picture of 2008. It sure worked for Brokeback Mountain, anointed the 2005 best picture winner because it “broke new ground” with its two homosexual cowboys. Frost/Nixon didn’t break any ground at all since Nixon has been trashed for half a century and usually with more historical accuracy.
David Paradine Frost was essentially a nonentity with a career circling the toilet when he conceived the idea of cashing in on the disgraced and almost-impeached Nixon. His project and the movie featured a series of one-on-one interviews with the former president, the plan being to get him to fess up that he was responsible for the loss of thousands of American lives and many more thousands of Vietnamese in the Viet Nam War and to admit complicity in the Watergate coverup.
The plan failed but you would never know it from Frost/Nixon which presents Frost as scoring a dramatic coup d’etat, which never really happened, although it’s hard to tell that from the reviews.
Google “Frost/Nixon” . . .

So what has Al Gore gained from his Big Green escapades?
According to public disclosure information, Gore was worth somewhere between $1 million and $2 million in 2000. Not quite eight years later, Gore is estimated to be worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 million.

Across the Atlantic, British MP insults and jokes about killing Miss California
Shadow leader of the House of Commons Alan Duncan was appearing on BBC comedy show "Have I Got News For You" when he made the gaffe.
Mr Duncan, who had earlier in the show revealed his ambition to become Home Secretary, was discussing American Beauty Queen Carrie Prejean's belief that same sex marriages were wrong.
And the MP called her a "silly b***h" and said "If you read that Miss California is murdered you will know it was me".
The comment has provoked outrage among viewers with complaints being filed with the BBC and the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
The Rev George Hargreaves, leader of the Christian Party said today "Mr Duncan has crossed the line. A senior politician suggesting, even as a joke, that it is OK that Ms. Prejean should be murdered for her Evangelical Christian views is totally unacceptable.

Mexican who greeted Obama at museum died next day, maybe from swine flu
The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported. The newspaper didn’t confirm if Solis had swine flu or not.

I saw Yahoo News the other day and was wondering how they managed to poll such a positive outlook for Obama...
Well, DUH!
AP poll included only 18% Republicans
The AP is trumpeting a new poll showing that for the first time in many years, a MAJORITY of Americans believe America is headed in the right direction.
At first read you might ask yourself, how the heck is this possible?
Well it's easy is you totally jack the sample. This poll includes (get ready for it) only 18% REPUBLICANS! 18%!

CULTURE OF CORRUPTION ALERT!
Senator Dianne Feinstein’s Hubby Caught with Fingers In Till
“On the day the new Congress convened this year, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband’s real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms. Mrs. Feinstein’s intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn’t a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.”
SNIP
“About the same time of the contract award, Mr. Blum’s private investment firm reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission that it and related affiliates had purchased more than 10 million new shares in CBRE. The shares were purchased for the going price of $3.77; CBRE’s stock closed Monday at $5.14. Spokesmen for the FDIC, Mrs. Feinstein and Mr. Blum’s firm told The Times that there was no connection between the legislation and the contract signed Nov. 13, and that the couple didn’t even know about CBRE’s business with FDIC until after it was awarded.”

Jesus had to make do with a star. The presidential birth of the Anointed One is announced by the flight of robins. Robins flew for Him. In fact, even pigs flew for him. (That "flu," you idjit!)
For supposedly non-religious, even anti-religious people, leftists sure are... but I think I said this a million times already.
And yet, for all His being Numero Uno of the world, he does not find it beneath him to bow before Darth Inbred (you know... He-In-Whose-Hands-The-Oil-Is). Even His Obamaness recognizes a Power above him when he sees one.

Obama as Jesus Christ has been a common theme among Moonbat artists for more than a year. Even Congressmen on the floor have compared him to Christ.

Five US states report cases of Mexican Swine Flu.
“The death toll in Mexico from an outbreak of a new type of swine flu has risen to 103 people… around 400 people were in hospital out of a total of around 1,600 suspected cases.
Millions of Mexicans stayed indoors at the weekend or ventured out wearing surgical masks, especially in Mexico City where the government stopped public events and shut museums, bars and stadiums closed to try and contain the virus.”
===
Yet another 'benefit' of having porous borders and unchecked illegal immigration.
There are some ominous signs that the Mexican Swine Flu outbreak could be much worse than our news media has so far admitted. On par with the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, which is estimated to have killed from 20 to 100 million people world-wide.
One news story noted that Mexican soldiers distributed SIX MILLION face masks to Mexican civilians.
No doubt millions of Mexicans in the big cities have already bought face masks rather than wait for a government distribution.
In the comments section of a BBC article quotes another physician:
“I work as a resident doctor in one of the biggest hospitals in Mexico City and sadly, the situation is far from ‘under control’. As a doctor, I realise that the media does not report the truth. Authorities distributed vaccines among all the medical personnel with no results, because two of my partners who worked in this hospital (interns) were killed by this new virus in less than six days even though they were vaccinated as all of us were. The official number of deaths is 20, nevertheless, the true number of victims are more than 200. I understand that we must avoid to panic, but telling the truth it might be better now to prevent and avoid more deaths… Mexico City.”
