You've seen what happens when a CNN reporter goes to report (attack) at a Tea Party. How about whan John Zeigler goes to ask questions outside an event hosted by USC's Annenberg School of Journalism. The event was a ceremony honoring Katie Couric with the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. I know, I know ... you can stop laughing.

The guy standing in the middle is Venezuela's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a real jerk. I've seen this guy speak all sorts of anti-America diatribes whenever he is in any press conference. These guys live off this "imperialismo" retoric, and I don't mean just politically.

Posted by: Pete at April 18, 2009 1:46 PM

You cannot imagine how this is going to be used down here in South America. This is the guy (the one on the right) who called Bush the devil with impunity while in the USA. This is the guy (still on the right) who, last month, said the following about the guy (on the left):

“Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez said on Sunday his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama was at best an “ignoramus” for saying the socialist leader exported terrorism and obstructed progress in Latin America.

“He goes and accuses me of exporting terrorism: the least I can say is that he’s a poor ignoramus; he should read and study a little to understand reality,” said Chavez, who heads a group of left-wing Latin American leaders opposed to the U.S. influence in the region.

Chavez said Obama’s comments had made him change his mind about sending a new ambassador to Washington, after he withdrew the previous envoy in a dispute last year with the Bush administration in which he also expelled the U.S. ambassador to Venezuela.

As a part of how Chavez views us, he said in September of 2006:

“The United States empire is on its way down and it will be finished in the near future, inshallah," Chavez told reporters, ending the statement with the Arabic phrase for "God willing."

You notice the guy in the background watching what is being filmed? He is grinning because he will now be sending this to all of the countries that he and his buddies are attempting to convert to communism. The headline down here will be that he and his buddies can do what ever they want because the USA is a paper tiger and that Communism, not Capitalism is the winning way to go.

The goofy guy (the one the left) is the one during his presidential campaign in order to curry favor with his union buddies would not agree to a trade agreement with Columbia with whom we are trying to stamp out leftist rebels who protect the drug trade. This is the same government that is also being threatened by the communist (that is the guy on the right) leader who is the next door neighbor.

Taking to people who are your enemies is one thing. Getting set up for photo shoots that put them into a positive light after the essentially tell you to “eat s@#t” and sick it where the sun don’t shine, is much another.

This set of photos and anything positive that the inexperienced guy on the left (I’m talking both about where he is physically standing and is mentally ) had to say sets back our status in this macho world down here as well as in the middle east.

That is why the guy (standing in the background has that huge smile on his face, especially as Chavez gives the President of the United States a “disrespectful handshake” in a photo document for propaganda. He, the guy in the background is looking to see what else the “baby sitters” for the fool (the guy on the left) will be allowed to do before they pull him away.

See all the camera’s in the back ground and the look on Chavez’s face? He is not even looking at Obama, but calculating the value of demeaning the Office of the President of the United States. You will never, ever, find a photo of two presidents of countries in South America making a handshake like this one.

This photo will be on the front of T-shirts handed out by Chavez and will be around for years.

You would think that someone taking care of THE ONE, would, after he made a complete fool of himself bowing with a genuflect to the Saudi King would have had him on a leash to stop more things like this from happening. Does the Obama Generation still believe this guy has any brains at all when it comes to what the President of the United States is supposed to represent on the world stage?

The problem with Obama on these trips is that he thinks these trips are about him personally. He has no clue that the trips are about the United States and that he is there only to a representative, as President, of all of us. US Presidents do not separate themselves from our history by always falling back on their birthdates. (However, his doing so continually demonstrates that he cannot do math in his head as he is always wrong in his calculations).

There is no way that I would let that Communist near me without having him first wrapped in cellophane and sterilized(in all ways)in a autoclave. So why is Obama letting him get up close and personal?

I fully expect Obama to start break dancing or something like that, on one of these trips to show that our country is up for grabs and that all of the adults have gone to sleep.

Thank you for your comment Michael.

This is a freaking horrorshow.

I have to pray for the hate in my heart to be removed---for that is now what I feel for all those careless, spoiled fools who voted for an inexperienced weak charactered jerk like Obama.

Do of any them care one bit for the people suffering under Chavez? Do they have any idea what we are playing with here?

2012----the GOP better stop screwing around and have solid and trustworthy people ready to lead.

What, in the name of God, is going on with America’s Catholic universities?

Notre Dame alumni are putting the screws to their alma mater, hitting it where it hurts most: in the Irish endowment.

The purpose: Dumping university president, Rev. John Jenkins. The reason: Jenkins’ invitation to pro-abortionist President Barack Obama to speak at commencement on May 17th and Jenkins’ surrender of the values upon which Notre Dame was founded. The prospects of success: Nil, in either ousting Jenkins or in stopping their school from honoring a man who stands in opposition to virtually everything Notre Dame and the Catholic faith holds true and sacred.

It would represent a further embarrassment to all concerned to revoke the Obama invite at this point and an equal embarrassment to force Jenkins to step down under duress. However, the school still has high hopes and anticipates President Obama will abide by tradition, even if the school has abandoned its traditional moral principles. A university spokesman indicated that, “Notre Dame expects Obama to Wear Prayer to Virgin Mary on His Chest When He Accepts Honorary Degree:” http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=46844. That is the same traditional robe worn by such luminaries as George W. Bush and Martin Sheen and, as another spokesman added, “everyone” wears that robe when receiving such recognition by Notre Dame and so will Obama.

Don’t bet the farm on that expectation. Not that Obama isn’t into tradition but his traditions aren’t quite the same as Notre Dame’s. A White House spokesman when asked about the robe hemmed and hawed over an answer and sputtered, “I’ve looked around, but I don’t have an answer for you.”

We will get that answer in a little over a month at the graduation ceremony. I wonder how proud the new graduates and “Rudy” Ruetigger feel about the whole mess created for their beloved school by Father Jenkins.

That other prestigious, eastern United States Catholic university, Georgetown, had already succeeded in upstaging its sister Catholic school in South Bend by its shameful action when Obama spoke there recently. Georgetown deferred to Obama by covering the religiously-symbolic letters, “IHS,” which were never an issue for other speakers. For Obama, for some reason, the iconic symbol was “out of context.” GU subsequently offered the lame excuse that it required the space for flags. (See http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=46784 and “Pusillanimity on Parade in Academia:” http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=959.)

In what appears to be a never-ending competition for publicity, or for something far worse, Georgetown outdid itself during this year’s Lenten season

If I may digress for a brief bit, GU’s desecration of Lent brought to mind the priest and family friend who had officiated at our wedding 40 years ago. Twenty years later, Father Joe decided he had had it and left the priesthood. His winters of discontent were not rooted in his religion or the priesthood per se as much as it was discontent with the new priests entering that vocation. He expressed the reason for his giving up his vestments in a rhetorical question: “What other profession offers such a ripe field for homosexuals to pursue their homosexual inclinations?”

His point and the cause of Father Joe’s justifiable anger was the influx of gays into the priesthood, the results of which have become all too evident in contemporary headlines about predator priests and child molestation. As vocations by the truly priestly plummeted, the Church sought to fill the ranks by allowing entry into its seminaries not only to “non-practicing” homosexuals but to others of questionable character and morality, as long as they hadn’t been caught yet.

The results are also evident at Georgetown University. Jesuit GU bastardized the first week of Lent with “Sex Positive Week,” dedicated not exclusively to homosexuality but open to all “positivity.”

Georgetown’s “Sex Positive Week” featured a variety of “positive” events. On Monday they had a panel discussion on positive sex. Tuesday focused on the eternal query, “Can pornography be sex positive?” Wednesday, Ash Wednesday, . . .

Great, lengthy post there, Michael. You spell it all out eloquently. Even a fairly ignorant person is aware of the record across the board of Communism vis-a-vis propaganda; and yet this man portraying a U.S. president strides in, beaming from oversized ear to oversized ear as he shakes hands (three different times, I've read) with this quintessential filthy Communist dictator. Is he actually thinking, through all this, "Look! I'm winning them all over?"

Socialized healthcare efficiency in Japan takes 7 hospitals to kill one heart attack victim

MIYAZAKI —
A 65-year-old man who was found collapsed in his car after suffering cardiac and respiratory
arrest in Hyuga, Miyazaki Prefecture, died after being rejected by seven hospitals, rescue authorities said Friday. After finding the man at around 7:40 p.m. on April 4, rescue workers asked seven hospitals in Hyuga and neighboring Nobeoka to accept him, but the request was rejected on the grounds that the beds were full or doctors were conducting surgery.

The patient was finally admitted at the eighth hospital shortly before 9 p.m., but he was pronounced dead 15 minutes later. He had a history of cardiac angina, and the authorities said it cannot be decided whether the delay in taking him to a hospital caused his death.

Excellent Ozzie emergency services take 6 rounds of mocking to kill lost teen

TRIPLE-0 operators told off a dying teenager as he made desperate calls for help while lost in bushland in the Blue Mountains - even repeatedly asking him to name the street he was in.

An inquest into David Iredale's death yesterday heard six heart-breaking calls made to emergency services after he became lost and disorientated during a bushwalk in December 2006.

The 17-year-old was two days into a three-day trek, having run out of water almost 24 hours earlier and endured temperatures of up to 37C, when he made the first of the increasingly frantic emergency calls.

Ambulance officers admit to rescue failure

During the calls, which dropped out each time due to poor reception in the area, David told ambulance staff he was lost, had fainted and was unable to walk.

Despite telling operators he was deep within the Blue Mountains National Park, he was repeatedly asked "What's the address, what suburb are you in?" and "Can you name any of the streets?".

During one of the calls an operator scolded David for his tone, telling the scared teen "Don't yell at me" when he raised his voice to overcome the poor phone reception.

David's parents Stephen and Mary Anne walked out of the inquest as recordings of David's increasingly frantic pleas for help in his final moments were played.

A Homosexual Speaks Out!

In the interests of fairness and since I have recently been accused of being a “mother f****r,” a homophobe, a bigot, a hater, an ignoramus, a slanderer, and a closet homosexual, (See comments following “Day of Silence . . .” article, http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=931#comment-1840), I hereby offer even more space for a supplementary rebuttal from a representative of the gay community.

Copyright restrictions prohibit reprinting the entire rebuttal–which may be a poor choice of words for a homosexual’s commentary–but I will provide the link to “Homophobia Is Killing Our Youth,” published on Newsvine.com and written by “ladyblue999:” http://ladyblue999.newsvine.com/_news/2009/04/18/2699852-homophobia-is-killing-our-youth.

Needless to say, I feel compelled to comment on the commentary by ladyblue999, to whom I shall refer as 999 for the sake of simplicity. First of all, for clarification, I believe 999’s title is a reference to gay youths, not young people in general, allegedly being killed by homophobia.

In the second sentence of her brief article, (assuming 999 is a “she,” something not always determinable among transgenders), 999 writes, “Amidst all this homophobic murder, . . .” Now, that’s confusing since one can’t distinguish whether 999 is referencing the “killing” in her title, which in itself is hyperbolic, or referring to actual murders of gays in our society. If the latter, then 999 is perpetuating a myth created by the LGBT Lobby that straights are roaming the landscape slaughtering homosexuals willy nilly, or even regularly.

Stuff happens, of course, and sometimes very evil “stuff” such as the murder of anyone for any reason, every instance of which should be condemned by all members of civilized society. However, if 999 is suggesting that instances of killing homosexuals by non-homosexuals even remotely approximates the reverse, i.e., gays murdering non-gays, she is a victim or a perpetrator of that manufactured fallacy.

Since this space was offered as an opportunity for 999 to speak out, I won’t belabor the point except to say that that fallacy goes back to the senseless murder in 1998 of Matthew Shepard by two degenerate cretins who, it has been proven, killed the Wyoming student not because he was gay but because they wanted to rob him. Gays, however, jumped on the case to advance their own causes even if their basic premise was flawed.

For a number of specifics refuting that canard, please see . . .

He might as well have done:

"Obama walked across a hotel meeting room to meet Chavez for the first time, said a senior U.S. administration official who witnessed it and spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the details of the event. The official said Obama initiated the encounter.

-----

"It was very, very short," the official said of Friday's meeting. "The president shook his [Chavez'] hand, smiled and then went back to his position in the line."

----

Asked later about the meeting, Obama elicited laughter from reporters with a brief response: "I said, 'Como estas?'"

That's the familiar form of Spanish for "How are you?"

Chavez was more forthcoming with reporters.

"We shook each other's hands like gentlemen, and it was predictable this would happen," Chavez said.

"We don't have any complexes that would prevent us from extending our hands to each other. I'm grateful for his gesture."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090418/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/cb_summit_obama_chavez

And of course, while Obama is cozying up to Chavez, Colombia remains confused as to why it still doesn't get a free trade pact.

Oops, Obama was for decriminalizing marijuana before he opposed it

The Washington Times has unearthed a video of a debate in Barack Obama’s initial Illinois campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2004. The debate tape from Jan. 21, 2004, at Northwestern University shows Obama proclaiming the war on drugs an “utter failure.”

“We need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws,” he said to scattered applause. “But I’m not somebody who believes in legalization of marijuana. What I do believe is that we need to rethink how we’re operating in the drug war. Currently, we’re not doing a good job.” But then in a Democratic debate last fall, Tim Russert asked all the party’s candidates if anyone disagreed with Sen. Chris Dodd’s idea to decriminalize marijuana. Obama, standing center stage, was one of several candidates who raised their hand, albeit not very high.

An Obama spokesman told the newspaper the other day that the senator has “always” favored decriminalization as he said in the 2004 debate, meaning he mistakenly raised his hand as an opponent for the national TV audience. A spokesman for the campaign of Hillary Clinton, Obama’s sole remaining Democratic opponent, said she opposes decriminalization.

Note that nations who have decriminalized narcotics have had to retreat on the issue because of high addiction rates among the youth and adult populations.

Did Bill Ayers Write Obama’s Books?

Evidence continues to mount that Barack Obama had substantial help from Bill Ayers in the creation of his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, a book that Time Magazine has called ‘the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician.’ The evidence falls into five general categories, here summarized.

* The discovery of new matching nautical metaphors from both Ayers and Obama that almost assuredly came from the same source: Ayers, a former merchant seaman.

* The discovery of a Bill Ayers’ essay on memoir writing, whose postmodern themes and phrases are echoed throughout Dreams.

* A newly discovered book chapter from 1990 that shows clearly and painfully the limits of Obama’s prose style the year he received a contract to write Dreams.

* The revelation by radical Islamicist Rashid Khalidi that Ayers made his “dining room table” available for neighborhood writers who needed help.

* A refined timeline that shows Ayers had the means, the motive and the time to help Obama when he needed it most.”
