Obama Demands Christian Symbol Be Covered

Our Dear Leader B. Hussein did say this is no longer a Christian nation. Apparently, not even major Catholic universities are still Christian:

Georgetown University says it covered over the monogram "IHS" — symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ — because it was inscribed on a pediment on the stage where President Obama spoke at the university on Tuesday and the White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there.

A little background:

Georgetown, which is run by the Jesuit order, is one of the most prestigious Catholic institutions of higher education in the United States.
Roman Catholics traditionally use "IHS" as an abbreviation for Jesus' name. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "St. Ignatius of Loyola adopted the monogram in his seal as general of the Society of Jesus (1541) and thus became the emblem of his institute." The Society of Jesus is the formal name for the Jesuits.

Apparently the educrats running Georgetown now serve a very different lord.

Didn't want to be seen with his eyes burning?

Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at April 17, 2009 10:03 AM

In this case I blame Georgetown. When the Obamunists asked them to cover those Christian symbols, they should have told them to shove it. The fact that they acquiesced is shameful.

Posted by: Rich at April 17, 2009 10:23 AM

I agree with Rich. Obama has many other faults to focus on than asking Georgetown to cover the IHS; but Georgetown Univ. should bear the brunt of guilt over this shameful act towards all Catholics and Christians by agreeing to put the board over the letters.

Yes, there shall be no one greater than our supreme and glorious leader. He bows to an Arabian king, but refuses to stand beneath the real King. He is not a Christian of any sort. Like so many false leaders, he uses phony piousness to gain power and the unwise political lackeys buy it hook, line and sinker. This great Christian has yet to select a church to attend in D.C. He says America is not a Christian nation and we owe a debt to the great influences of Islam. He, his wife, and so many of his followers truly dislike America and its Christian roots, which is why he can say he will "fundamentally transform the United States of America". A little biblical justice would be nice right about now:

Daniel 5:20 - But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.

Equally as disturbing as the White House requesting the covering of the signs and symbols, is Georgetown's capitulation to a regime that stands in opposition to the values that G-town supposedly possesses. Explanation? Possibly that the Jesuits are known to be on the left of the Catholic political spectrum. But surrendering to these obvious anti-religious, secular demands is going too far. This president should not be speaking at any Catholic school in the first place.

There are dozens of great, truly Catholic universities in America; Georgetown and Notre Dame are no longer among them.

daniel 7:

21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
23Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
28Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

no, i'm not implying the antichrist accusation against this plotus - he's but a type or shadow.

What Rich said. I'da told him to hit the road.

Thanks Moonbattery, for putting up so many Tea Party photo's BTW.

July 4th's Tea Party is sure to be off the charts!

Obama doesn't like competition.

Posted by: Anonymous at April 17, 2009 12:41 PM

Will Notre Dame do this?

Unbelievable.

Georgetown is a sellout, denying their association with Christ to appease a megalomaniacal politician with messianic delusions. The diocese overseeing Georgetown needs to get involved and correct this sacrilege immediately.

Could be that as the antiChrist he can't bear to be in the presence of good.
Just a thought

Posted by: Bill S at April 17, 2009 1:15 PM

I read the University's explanation - that covering up IHS was an unintended consequence of Obama wanting to have just flags behind him.
Two points,
1. "He who denies Me before men, I will deny him before my Father" - Luke.
2. IHS also stands for Institute for Humanist Studies - is that what the Jesuits stand for now?
(Then again, IHS also stands for International Headache Society)

Shame Jesuits, shame.

Posted by: Jim at April 17, 2009 2:30 PM

I've found a couple of meanings of 'IHS'.

Latin: 'in hoc signo' meaning, "by this sign (the cross) you will conquer (death)"

Greek: 'iota-eta-sigma', a representation of the first 3 Greek letters of Jesus' name.

INRI, the inscription above Jesus' head on the cross is Latin: Iesvs Nazeren vs Rex Idaeorvm (Jesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaerum), 'Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews'.

That's too much truth for the false savior's militant Marxist theology to counteract -- thus the cover-up.

Keep an eye out to see whether Stars of David, Crescents, and various other symbols are similarly covered up in the future.

Posted by: shadfly at April 18, 2009 2:08 AM

I am very surprised that this self centereed POS had IHS covered.

Posted by: So What at April 18, 2009 5:23 AM

He sounds like that wackos SUN MUNG WEIRD MOONFREAK about urging christains to give up the cross

Posted by: Flu-Bird at April 18, 2009 7:24 AM

Shadfly- Stars of David will very likely be draped over at our new Leaders' request.

But Crescents? Don't think so...

He holds too much in sympathy with the bearers of the Crescent and Star to insult them like that...the same goes for those who fly another type of "Crescent", with a Hammer crossed through it.

It could be that Obama is so full of himself, that he wants to tone it down a little bit for his devoted kook-ade drinkers. He wouldn't want pictures of himself with a cross over his head, he's already got a shitload of pictures with halos, maybe a cross or other symbol is going too far.

Posted by: nitrain at April 18, 2009 10:27 AM

I'm surprised he wants the flag.
MY FLAG.
Maybe as a way for his good friend and neighbor bill ayers to avoid touching the ground

Transcript of Georgetown speaking to their Highest Patron, just released:

Georgetown: Hey, hi! How ya doing? Hope we aren't interrupting you with anything, we just called to say hey, whats up? How's it going?

Patron: (Inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh, just had lunch? How was it, whadja have?

Patron: (Inaudible)

Georgetown: EEW! Soggy, lukewarm pizza? Ecchh, yeah we'd spit that out too.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh, we're doin' pretty good, keepin' busy, you know, spreading the Gospel, findin' the lost, feedin' your sheep, heh. Keepin' pretty busy going about your work. We got our game heads on, I mean, you alone are the Way, the Truth and the Light and no one that comes to you will be turned away, we dig that.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: What? Oh no, no problem, there's no problem here. We're sticking true to your teachings, no cutting corners there. We just called aaaand weell, it's just that well yes...weee do have a small problem. Well it is a problem and it isn't.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh yes, we remember, how could we forget, you swore to be with us to the end of time and that you'd let nothing and no one stand between us and your Love, we believe that and same goes here from us to you but anyway, you see, the thing is, the President of the United States, well, he's coming HERE, to give a speech.

Patron : (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh Yes! the President! He's coming here to give a speech, this is just so totally awesome, I mean isn't he just so cool?

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Ha! Well no, we haven't seen him walk on water, but he's so cool and historic and he's bringing us HOPE!

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Well, yeah, raising the dead to life is a pretty tough act to follow but we're getting off topic here. You see, the problem is, well, it's like this, well...Jesus this is awkward.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh yeah! Without a doubt, if you're standing for us, who can stand against us, right on, we're all with that it's just that when the President comes to give his speech, well, the President kinda wants the moment...for himself.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: What! Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, you're not the problem, no, no, that's not it, that's not it at all, it's just that, well, he doesn't want any distractions when he gives his speech. He just kinda asked us to ask you if maybe you could just maybe just...step out of the room for a moment when he gives his speech. Just for a moment!

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh no, not at all, we not putting him your place, we wouldn't do that, it's just that this is a once-in-a-lifetime event and it would be a tragedy if we were to miss it quibbling over such a small favor requested.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: No! No! Not at all, you're not an embarrassment, not at all! Please don't take it so personally!

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh yeah! You know it! We're still dedicated to you and the Father. No, you don't need to worry about that, you can sleep well on that. In God We Trust, you know it! We're right there with the rest of the country.

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Oh no, he didn't mean it when he said that, I mean, that was just a rhetorical flourish. Please don't take it so personally, it's just that you catch more flies with honey than you would with salt right? So maybe, just kinda lay low for a little bit, maybe, you think? We'll get back to you, swear!

Patron: (inaudible)

Georgetown: Well yes, he's a christian, he says he is and he wouldn't lie to us anymore than he would lie to himself. I mean, he's been to church and that should count for something. But hey, gotta go, so if you could, just for that moment anyway, just kinda hang out in the utility closet until the speech is over, that'd be cool and hey, don't be a stranger, keep in touch. Cao!

PATRON: (inaudible)

Someone should demand that the statue of CHE be removed and dropped into the middle of HUDSON BAY or demand the pagan idol of the QUETZALCOATYLE be dumped into the middle of the pacific ocean

Posted by: Flu-Bird at April 18, 2009 5:51 PM

....just thinking....

Wasn't there another dictator that had all other religious symbols removed from their immediate society? The beginning of the end of America by its own hand? Sad.

Shame on anyone that sat there during the antichrist's speech -- Shame on the Univerisity for doing such a thing. Shame is on that school and all who were there in support of this THING seated unconstitutionally at the head of our nation's table. Georgetown University lost any and all respect from the true Christians of this CHRISTIAN nation.
