Lawsuit Will Force Westchester County to Build More Slums
Organizing widespread squatting isn't the Left's only tactic for turning the entire country into a slum. Its favorite tool, given its thorough dominance of the legal profession, is the lawsuit. For example, in suburban New York, moonbats are suing to force local government to construct more slums at taxpayer expense.
Westchester County officials are gearing up for battle in a court case over whether they've done enough to desegregate largely white communities.
And by all accounts, the fight could be long and expensive.
The county recently doubled what it expects to pay defense lawyers Epstein, Becker and Green in a federal housing discrimination lawsuit filed by the Anti-Discrimination Center of Metro New York, a nonprofit housing group that could be awarded a share of up to $150 million in damages if it wins. …
The Anti-Discrimination Center is accusing the county of failing to provide affordable housing in its more affluent suburbs and failing to reduce segregation in municipalities such as its larger cities, despite taking $52 million in federal housing aid from 2000 through 2006 and doling it out to communities.
Once again we see that accepting federal money is the equivalent of selling your soul to the Devil. Proclaims "civil rights" attorney Randolph McLaughlin:
The issue is whether affordable housing is a reality, and it's obviously not. Affordable housing has not been a reality in Westchester County. If you take government money, you have to do what you said you're going to do.
When moonbats yelp about affordable housing, what they actually mean is there are too many white people. Turning nice towns into slums is the bleeding heart version of ethnic cleansing.
Paving the way for this trial, Judge Denise L. Cote of U.S. District Court in Manhattan in February ruled in a summary judgment that the county failed to analyze race as an impediment to affordable housing and misrepresented its integration efforts.
After the entire county looks like the hellhole Mount Vernon, moonbats will continue marching north. One day soon the South Bronx will reach all the way to the Saint Lawrence River.
On a tip from Wiggins.

In Allegheny County (containing Pittsburgh), for several years a Judge named Sanders decreed that public housing be moved from inner cities to the suburbs - now there is higher crime, drug needles in the alleys and graffiti on peoples houses in formerly nice communities. Alot of people moved out (before the subprime implosion) and left the county, depleting the tax base resulting in rising property taxes on the productive citizens left behind. Living in a Moonbat controlled county is hazardous to your property values.

This is great news! Groundbreaking should start today!
There's a place called chappaqua in Northern Westchester County that just screams for this kind of desegregation!

Van, don't send a chill down my spine, as the St. Lawrence River means ME, currently in a nice little town that resembles Mayberry. Fortunately, the federals don't pay much attention to us one way or another.

P.S., bjd, Chappaqua is probably already a sleazetown, what with Hillary being out of town so much.

Once again, the road to hell is paved with (superficially) good intentions. Justice prevails when no one is impeded from living where they want because of their race or ethnicity. Liberalism extends the concept so that no one is impeded from living where they want because they can't afford it. Government ensuring the right of individuals to by property is just. Government deciding the proper racial makeup of neighborhoods is tyranny.

I can't see moonbats putting up with mayfly season in the Adirondacks, or lake effect snow, for very long.

Very well observed and spoken, VH.

"Failed to analyze race as an impediment to affordable housing.."
What is that even supposed to mean?
Upmarket neighbourhoods don't have affordable houses because white people are too racist?
Or black people can't get affordable housing in upmarket neighbourhoods because they're black?
Seriously, is that English?
Sometimes I get the feeling that moonbats like to throw random talking points together without any thought to whether what they are saying makes sense.

You're just figuring that out now? You should stop by here more often. :p
Seriously, listen to some of the pundits. They must have the most difficult job in the world. Say something that is meaningless in a way that people think you are going to solve all their problems and makes them feel good.

It's also about moving Democrat voters in to Republican districts.

it is also about forcing white people or non-blacks out of their houses
how long before anonynazi joe the obot and brandon call us paranoid glenn beck supporters who hate black people

Just because minorities live in a neighborhood doesn't make it a slum, or mean it will turn into a slum. My neighborhood is racially mixed and very nice.

I think it's intended to mean the latter of the two, though yeah, it's mostly a complete crock.

Aren't affluent, upmarket suburbs by definition expensive--i.e., not "affordable"? And this has exactly what to do with race?
Posted by: ruddie at April 13, 2009 10:03 PM
^^ Ruddie - my point exactly. An upmarket neighbourhood doesn't have affordable housing, because if it did, it would be an affordable neighbourhood, not an upmarket neighbourhood.
You're just figuring that out now? You should stop by here more often. :p

bjd, I was being facetious ;)

Its not about minorities, its "public housing residents" - most of whom are actually white. People (younger ones in particular) growing up in inner city public tend to have little respect for the law, expect everything to be handed to them, trash their houses/apartments (expecting the government to fix it), trash the neighborhood with graffiti and trash, use/sell drugs, ect. Government thinks spreading out the problem into the burbs will dillute the problems. But its more like taking a spot of skin cancer and spreading the cancer cells around so they are less noticable. Eventually the entire body becomes cancer infested and dies.
On my days off I see them wandering the streets with hands in their pockets, sitting around smoking and drinking booze out of brown paper bags sitting around waiting for the their gubment checks to arrive.

Yeah, I saw that, too, when I had a job that took me on the streets about town. (It was a bread route, not streetwalking, LOL). Welfare day, everyone sitting at their picnic tables with cases of beer. Having a grand time at my expense. They were all white, so see I'm not racist, lurking trolls.

Slums = Democrat votes. It's how the left have kept blacks on the plantation!
(Don't worry Karin, the "RaceCard"@ isn't honored here...as hard as the trolls try. 8-))
