La Times Sneers at Tea Parties

The Los Angeles Times confirms that according to the liberal elite establishment, citizen protests against an overreaching government that is destroying our freedoms and bankrupting our economy is a waste of time. Sneers Marc Cooper:

The Web is buzzing with information about how to throw an anti-Obama Taxpayer Tea Party, something organizers hope will be held today from Santa Monica to South Carolina. But no need to burn up your bandwidth reading complicated instructions. Here's a simpler recipe:
Go to a hobby store. Buy a scale model of a U.N. One-World-Government Black Helicopter and a tube of glue. Toss the model kit. Sniff the entire tube of glue. You're all set for the party.

Writing as he does for La Times, Cooper is not above indulging in lies, claiming that the spontaneous grass roots Tea Parties were secretly arranged by the boogeymen who make liberals hold tight to their teddy bears:

[T]his rash of tea parties is being organized not only by the pseudo-journalists at Fox News (with Glenn Beck, Neil Cavuto and Sean Hannity actively stoking the flames) but also by FreedomWorks, a conservative lobbying outfit headed by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey.

Absurdly, Cooper drags out the shopworn fib that Comrade Zero will be cutting taxes for "all except the very richest of Americans." Needless to say, the orgy of spending the government is indulging in will require radically higher taxes, whatever Obama's teleprompter has him reciting to the willfully gullible.

If the contempt of the witless moonbat statists who spin for establishment newspapers isn't enough to get you out to the nearest Tea Party, what could be?

Bring a camera and if you get some good shots, please send them along.

Here in the DC Area, it's rainy and cold, but apparently, patriots are turning out. An eyewitness...

I tried to go to the DC Tea Party today with kids in tow, but after visiting TWO metro stations and DC proper I could find not a single place to park within walking or metro distance. The DC Tea Party must be effing HUGE, because the Dunn Loring parking station has never in my experience been full. That's why we always use it! Even on the Fourth of July it wasn't full!

Can we ever expect anything less from the L.A. SLIMES which is just the west coasts version of the NEW YORK SLIMES

L-azy A-Hole Times will probably be out of business in a year or two considering its owner filed Chapter 11. No wonder they are in a foul mood.

Marxist rags are dropping like flies.

*That was real cute, Marc, about the glue.

*That map is not the most up-to-date. There are alot more "thumbtacks" than that.

*I live in a small-ish "city," but we still turned out. Didn't have my camera, dammit! There was no parking available, so I had my husband drop me off, and he contributed the horn-honking, anyway. I'd say we had couple hundred? (I can't estimate these). I could only stay for a bit on my lunch hour. Maybe more people later who took a 1:00 lunch. My sign said "STOP THE POWER AND MONEY GRAB!"

This is a long post, sorry, but want to add that our Mayor has a radio talk show (he's Independent). He said, "These are not the types of people you normally see at protests." LOL. Well-groomed and well-behaved, I suppose. Just working people on lunch hour. Damn rabble-rousers! :)

P.S. They can ridicule all they want. That is, after all, one of Saul Alinkey's rules. Rules that we can play by, too.

2010 will be the year we make contact.

April 15, 2010 - in DC. Be there!

Starting the countdown to the tea party I'm going to attend, at 6 pm.

The moonbats are damn lucky the weather struck in DC. It's very cold, very rainy, and hard to get around. The major thoroughfare in from Virginia is a parking lot today. Lucky moonbats caught a break. From here, I think someone should really focus on getting 100,000 people on the mall in DC - that'll force coverage by the MSM.

I am amazed that Obama and his supporters continue to repeat the "We'll give tax cuts to 95% of Americans" mantra. The spending amounts that they're implementing or are advocating have long made that promise mathematically impossible.

Dumb conservatives. When we need money we'll just print more. How do you people remember to breathe??

Oh My. If you pop over to the article, you should read the comments. 1,224 comments so far, all them but maybe one handing Cooper's ass to him. What an interesting day. You wouldn't believe my tax bill, though (uurrrgh growl).

I would say one of the best aspects of today's entire tea party process--whether you think they were party-backed or not--is that they truly make up a large percentage of regular people who are frustrated with recent taxes. If anything at all, they are perfect examples of men and women enabling their 1st Amendment rights--to congregate, speak freely, etc. I watched an interesting video on the tea party controversy at newsy.com. It gives a few different perspectives and is worth watching:

50 bucks says the lame streak media will give it little, if any coverage at all.

The AZ Tucson Parks and Rec service estimated around 10:00 am that the Tucson Tea Party had around 2,500-3,000 people on location. While we were there, people were leaving and coming in large numbers so there were probably a whole lot more that actually showed up for it--they just weren't all there at one time.

How come the intellectual vacuums from the left never whine about their sugar daddy George Soros funding their own shenanigans, or the corporate MainStream Media effectively acting as Obama's campaign staff?

As Blogger fboness pointed out at Al Fin pointed out, Gandhi's rules trump Alinsky's

First they ignore you

then they laugh at you

then they fight you

then you win.

Just returned from my tea party, which drew several thousand - from a town of perhaps 100,000. Amazing.

Kansas City "RED" Star sneers at Tea Parties.

Today's 'tea party' protests are hardly grassroots events

ANYONE THAT THINKS CNN HASEN'T AN AGENDA - CHECK THIS OUT.

Chicago Tea Party VS CNN Reporter:"Fascist & Anti-CNN?" Promoted by the right wing FOX.

Very angry Chicago tea party protesters are brewing over taxes and watch what they are defending and fighting over with this CNN reporter who seems to like to debate! She acclaims the group is anti-CNN promoted by FNC.

Posted by: TED at April 16, 2009 4:57 AM

How embarassingly cringe-worthy was that CNN thing? Unbelievable.

I read the comments on the KC Star article. Another drubbing. And, God help you if you don't allow comments on your articles. You're burned twice as hotly. People hate that.

Posted by: Karin at April 16, 2009 6:19 AM

I'm shocked at the LA Times coming bankruptcy. Shocked, I tell you.

Posted by: cowlove at April 16, 2009 6:34 AM

Spot on, Ted and Karin. That CNN clip was truly amazing. Anyone who thinks CNN doesn't have an agenda should watch it.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at April 16, 2009 10:04 AM

The CNN footage is a perfect example of how the Old Media has broken its trust with the public.

They are no longer the watch dogs of government they were always meant to be, but rather have transformed into leftist propagandists.

It's despicable. The woman is a worm.
