10 Terms Not to Use Around Muslims

The Christian Science Monitor helpfully lists 10 terms you should not use around Religion-of-Peaceniks, lest you offend them, causing them to melt into helpless puddles of tears or fly airliners into office buildings:

1. "The Clash of Civilizations"
2. "Secular"
3. "Assimilation"
4. "Reformation"
5. "Jihadi"
6. "Moderate"
7. "Interfaith"
8. "Freedom"
9. "Religious Freedom"
10. "Tolerance"

Since "freedom" made the list twice, maybe we should just delete it from the Newspeak dictionary. That way we won't have to be reminded of what we sacrificed for moonbattery.

I'm trying to think of a sentence that makes sense and uses all of those.

Nice to see that Muslims believe secular to be the most evil single word. Maybe Yanks who whine about the evils of religion-government separation should step back and realize how lucky they are. But I'm not counting on it.

Posted by: Gimme Money at April 1, 2009 7:44 AM

I'm going to go post those on Faithfreedom.org and see if a Muslim can respond.

Gimme, why do you think that all conservatives are theocrats? Most of us here simply want to adhere to the Constitution, which I think is not too much to ask.

Well, "freedom" has already been deleted from the name of the Freedom Tower so maybe they're taking your suggestion, VH.

Posted by: Stephen at April 1, 2009 8:47 AM

During the "Reformation" of Barak Obamas Amerika, some of which demanded a "Secular" "Assimilation" of the "Moderate" branch of the Republican party, resulted in an "Interfaith" "Jihadi" movement to create "Freedom" from the "Tolerance" of Political correctness, and ban all "Religious Freedom" among Patriotic American Citizens, there was however, "A Clash of Civilizations".

So I'm guessing "deranged," "death cult," and "sheepshagger" are out too, right?

Nobody whines about separation of church and state. Please don't make stuff up. Thanks.

"We interrupt this wbsite for a word from our President, the leader of a moderate jihadi against religious freedom and assimilation, who by an interfaith moderate and secular disipline will head the reformation of freedom and tolerence that will result in a clash of civilizations".And now a word from the President.
"UH,um,ah,um,uh,uh,uh ah,.Thank you".

"Gimme, why do you think that all conservatives are theocrats?"

I said Yanks, not conservatives (I hear liberal Americans whine about government-religion, or church-state separation as you call it too). I like to omit the church part to help illustrate that it keeps Muslims at bay too: all religions, Christianity, Islam etc should keep out of politics.

"Nobody whines about separation of church and state."

(Question mark)

Re: "yanks"
Durring the Korean War, a newspaper eidtorialist praised a squadron of NEGRO fighter pilots. In his enthusiasm, he refered to them as "tan Yanks". The pilots heard about this and wrote to the paper saying that they were NEITHER, insisting that they were NOT "tan" and that they were from the SOUTH and WEST.

Be advised that technicly "Yankees" are New Englanders and many Americans are offended by the label that ignorant Europeans have saddled us with.

Posted by: KHarn at April 1, 2009 3:44 PM

Many Europeans are sick of labels you've attached to us, but we don't whine about it, baby. I didn't know people on this site would obsess over labels that hurt their feelings!

Maybe you're right, you festering, syphilis ridden piece of Eurotrash.

Maybe you're right, you festering, syphilis ridden piece of Eurotrash.

Hypocrite:
1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Pathetic:
1 : having a capacity to move one to either compassionate or contemptuous pity
2 : marked by sorrow or melancholy : sad
3 : pitifully inferior or inadequate
4 : absurd , laughable

Dweeb:
slang : an unattractive, insignificant, or inept person

Posted by: Gimme Money at April 1, 2009 7:13 PM

And I don't think many people outside the group “insecure hypersensitive Americans” would put Yank next to Eurotrash on the bigotometer.

Posted by: Gimme Money at April 1, 2009 7:15 PM

Posted by: SK at April 1, 2009 7:09 PM

Gee, look who is projecting. You said your feelings wouldn't be hurt by such things by virtue of you being a European.

Apparently you are a liar and a hypocrite.

LOL

Posted by: SK at April 1, 2009 7:27 PM

No, I'm merely pointing out that you're a pathetic dweeb. Those are the two options when somebody calls you names: whine like a little baby (and if there's time, burn down a few embassies) or just call names back. Or you can do the really sensible thing and just ignore the name caller, but we're on the internet here!

What's weird is that I never meant to offend anybody: Yank was not meant to be an equivalent of Eurotrash or spear chucking nigger, it's just slang for an American. This phenomenon of hypersensitivity is really getting out of hand.

BTW: what's do you believe is the most annoying internet meme? A bit off topic, but I want your opinion.

Posted by: Gimme Money at April 1, 2009 8:19 PM

It's nice to see Gimme Money's true colors coming out. Usually, if it smells like a troll...

Posted by: Anonymous at April 1, 2009 8:39 PM

Calling somebody a troll when you're incapable of debate? No, that's not the MOST annoying internet meme.

Then Who Was Phone?

Posted by: SK at April 1, 2009 10:08 PM

YouTube specific: I'd say PWND is the most annoying word, and people quoting, word for word, from the video in the comments section.

Posted by: Gimme Money at April 1, 2009 10:34 PM

Pwnd was made up by RPG nerds (speaking as a former member) long before Youtube existed. It grew from 0wned, or owned, whichever you prefer.

islam is the most terrible sickness the world has ever seen. If only we could give the same effort to exterminating it as we do aids.

“Gimme Money” flaunts his ignorance about the United States. For example, Gimme Money is unaware of the nuances of the term Yank/Yankee in different parts of the United States. This shows a common error on many foreigners who comment on the US: they think that the US can be summed up in a generalization, when in fact it is a rather varied, complex country.

Gimme Money does not realize about all the nuances of the terms Yank/Yankee. For example, I was born in New England of parents who moved to New England in their adulthood. Outside the US, I am considered a Yank/Yankee for being from the US. Because of my New England origins, I am considered a Yank/Yankee where I currently live , south of the Mason-Dixon line. Yet in my native New England, I am not considered a Yankee because my parents were not born there.

Maybe Yanks who whine about the evils of religion-government separation should step back and realize how lucky they are.

This is another example of Gimme Money’s ignorance about the United States. The United States put separation of church and state into its Constitution over two hundred years ago, at a time when in many countries in Europe, those who did not belong to the state-approved religion were persecuted. Even today, in some countries in Europe churches are supported by tax monies. It therefore is very amusing when Europeans talk about their having separation of church and state, and the US does not, when the contrary is true. I don’t know Gimme Money’s nationality.
