Sir Ted of Chappaquiddick

It was once a high honor to become a British knight. Then came moonbattery. Now, knights include the likes of pervert pop star Elton John and the comparably squirrelly Paul McCartney. The embarrassing remnants of Britain hit rock bottom today with this:

Ted Kennedy, one of the leading members of the family dynasty that dominated American politics in the final decades of the last century, is to receive an honorary knighthood.

Kennedy, a drunken degenerate and seditious hard-left demagogue, is perhaps best known for his Chappaquiddick adventure. This entailed drunkenly driving into the drink while catting around with a woman other than his wife. Rather than trying to rescue Mary Jo Kopechne from the submerged car, he left her to die and didn't report the incident until ten hours later.

Roundtable material this guy ain't.

They don't make knights like they used to.

On tips from Camaron and Byron.

I don't know, given his hatred of windmills (at least those off the MA shore), I can see the comparison. New England's Don Quixote, dedicting his life to "solving" imaaginary problems, while creating real ones.

And Mary Jo Kophechne was not available for comment.

Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution:

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.

Hope this knight stays on the drawbridge and doesn't let some other fair maiden die after driving into the moat. His alibi: A Knight's Tale.

Posted by: catholicdude at March 4, 2009 11:04 AM

Annon, please. Since when does a moonbat adhere to the Constitution? Especially one from Mass.

Posted by: JohnC. at March 4, 2009 11:16 AM

Yawn. Another Constitutional violation by an elected official. It's getting kinda commonplace...

I smell revolution in the air.

Posted by: Henry at March 4, 2009 11:17 AM

I'm too disgusted on so many levels to comment. Speechless.

Posted by: Karin at March 4, 2009 11:40 AM

Oops forgot to log in there. The SECOND I saw this story I was like "Whoah, wait, backup..." I have most of the constitution committed to memory for when the zombies attack and we have to rebuild without the help of Wikipedia so I KNEW this was an illegal move. They're going to say that we won't be SIR TED but they'll call him Ted Kennedy, KBE to try to say that's not a title, but that's still a title and still illegal and he should be removed from office for accepting it.

Posted by: Paul Howard at March 4, 2009 11:47 AM

"pervert Elton John"

You guys really need to ease off. Elton John is a pretty calm guy who has even spoken against gay marriage.

He got his knighthood for decades of enormous talent, which should be undeniable.

This kind of fanatical bigotry serves to turn potential allies off. It's one thing to be against militant homosexuals trying to force their agenda. It's another altogether to just be a bigot.

Posted by: Melvin_Udall at March 4, 2009 11:56 AM

Actually Elton John got his knighthood for paying enormous sums in taxes.

Is it too obvious that Kennedy should be dubbed Sir Osis of Liver?

Posted by: Pat Curley at March 4, 2009 12:00 PM

Will SIR ANNOYUSALL be even more arogant then he is now? THEY SHOULD PLACE THE SWORD A LITLE CLOSER TO HIS OVER INFLATED EGO

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at March 4, 2009 12:16 PM

Piss on the Brits then! Kennedy and his Nazi sympathizing father would have planted an IRA bomb in Buckingham Palace given half the chance.
Knighthood and $1 will get you a lottery ticket.

Can we give a posthumous Medal of Honor to William Wallace then?

Posted by: Shooter1001 at March 4, 2009 12:41 PM

Next thing you know, the Queen will go to Rome, visit the Pope and convert Britain back!!

Posted by: Shooter1001 at March 4, 2009 12:44 PM

Thank You!

I would especially like to thank, the Dem. Machine and THE MEDIA. Were it not for them, instead of - Sir Ted - I would be known as "Tyrone's Teddy Bear" in Walpole State Prison.

www.ytedk.com - because I left her to sufficate in a air-pocket.

Posted by: TED KENNEDY at March 4, 2009 1:13 PM

It would be funny if when he was Knighted the sword slipped and accidentally cut off his head and roll down the red carpet. Cheers would erupt from the "Islamic Cummunity"

Van Helsing..

I cut copied and pasted the following in my comment over at Outside the beltway.com.

Your comment was good.

"Kennedy, a drunken degenerate and seditious hard-left demagogue, is perhaps best known for his Chappaquiddick adventure. So, sue me.

VH,
I did give you credit for the comment.

Awww..., come on. Don't want to see that for anyone.
If he is not presently repaying his debt, he will soon.

Posted by: Eneils Bailey at March 4, 2009 3:41 PM

Yep, soon its "nighty-night, knight".

Posted by: Anonymous at March 4, 2009 4:11 PM

If there is absolutely one senator that would readily subordinate the constitution, its Dead Kennedy.

The most egregious violation of his oath and the failure of his duty to the constitution occurred when he offered his drunken support to Gorbachev as Ronald Reagan single-handedly pressured the Soviet Empire into submission.

You couldn't expect less of Kennedy, but one only has to take momentary note of this pestilence to ascertain the depth of the degeneracy of all liberals, who in Massachusetts have repeatedly returned this treasonous coward to office, knowing full well that he murdered a woman by leaving her to drown in the back of a car straining for a few centimeters of air.

The mental rot of liberalism has no claim to nationality.

Posted by: Fiberal at March 4, 2009 4:20 PM

I cannot believe this. Knighthood used to mean something. What is this FOR? Not for talent, not for integrity, what? For me, this is about the last straw for respecting the British Monarchy. The man is scum! He was NEVER held accountable for killing a young woman. Did she deserve death for being stupid enough that she got into a car with a drunk married politician? Outrageous!

Posted by: Nancy at March 4, 2009 5:16 PM

First the Nobel Prize, and now this? Reducing Knighthood to a moonbat ritual. Someone should hang for this.

Posted by: john of utah at March 4, 2009 8:07 PM

HOLY KING ARHUR BATMAN WHAT A DISGRACE TO THOSE NOBLE KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR. Might we call him SIR LION OF BEEF or SIR OSIS OF LIVER or maybe SIR PANTSALOT OF DROP SEAT MANOR I heard and saw those names on two BUGS BUNNY cartoons KIGHTY KIGHT BUGS and KNIGHTS MUST FALL

Posted by: Flu-Bird at March 4, 2009 8:15 PM

Chalk up another award now made worthless.

Nobel, Knighthood, Oscar, Emmy, What next, President? Oh, Nevermind.

I clicked on the sitemeter at ytedk.com and found a good amount of visitors, have been from the U.K.

We can only hope they start raising some hell, about "Knighthood" being defined down.

Posted by: BARNEY FWANK at March 5, 2009 4:20 AM

I think once all the kennedys are good and dead, we'll look back on their 'dynasty' as a nightmare. Maybe some good laws will come from it, like when FDR died, we got that sweet 2-term limit.

And furthermore:
"If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive or retain, any title of nobility or honour, or shall, without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them"

Ted, do us all a favor and die.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 5, 2009 4:29 AM

Sorry, that was an amendment that was never ratified. Here's from Article I:

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.

Not that the Constitution matters any more.

Love Y2TEDK.com! That site is filled with all the details of Dead Head Ted's exploits and his use of his familys name to escape justice.

Posted by: Anonymous at March 5, 2009 6:07 AM

Mary Jo Kopeckney isnt spinning in her grave she is gyrating this is a total disgrace. THE SWORD SHOULD BE ALITTLE CLOSER TO KENNEDYS NECK

Posted by: Flu-Bird at March 5, 2009 7:54 AM

Is it too obvious that Kennedy should be dubbed Sir Osis of Liver?

Now THAT is funny! :)

Posted by: Kanaka Girl at March 5, 2009 8:08 AM

First they make a mockery of the Nobel Peace Prize and now Knighthood. Haven't the left made up enough awards to pat themselves on the back with!? That just makes it one more meaningless award.

Is there any doubt Congress wasn't falling over themselves to give consent?

Free Fall, baby, Free Fall.
Things used to mean things.
Value was attatched and had meaning.
So much has devalued its just not worth giving a damn or striving anymore.
They have inconcequentialized the reasons to be better and perform to the pinnacle.
How very sad.
Not just for King Arthur and company.
I guess personal glory and the respect of your peers is all we have till WE turn this ship around.

Posted by: czuch at March 5, 2009 2:05 PM

I think you may be wrong. I seem to remember some tale from Camelot about a certain Sir Drinksalot and the Lady of the Lake.
