Orlando Tea Party Draws 4,200
The Tea Parties are picking up steam. Saturday's event in Orlando drew 4,200 according to police.
Event organizer Lisa Feroli explained the objective:
The goal was to get people united, to let people know that they aren't alone in their feelings on despair. We want to speak out against the push toward socialization that we feel is taking place in our country.
A similar turnout in Cincinnati was almost totally ignored by the media, but the Orlando event is bringing up 33 links on Google News. If this many people got together demanding more government funding for sex change operations, it would generate 10 times the coverage. But so long as the phenomenon keeps growing, it can't be ignored.
Other Tea Parties erupted in Ridgefield, CT, Lexington, KY, and Raleigh, NC.
Everyone needs to know that America is not just going to roll over and die. Get your signs ready for the Tax Day Tea Party nearest you.

I was so psyched to see there was one in Ridgefield, CT, smack in the middle of Blue country. I used to live right by there, for about 12 years. Drove through every day. This town is the site of a Rev. War battle, that they revere. It did my heart good to see them out in the streets!
Reteaparty.com is a good site, too for keeping an eye out on where they're going to be partying.

If the Orlando Tea Party had been held a day earlier, I would have attended. My aunt and uncle attended the one in Cincinnati.

Protest is a language that the left understands. The media will take some convincing to cover these events though, but they will eventually get it. Keep swarming 'em with emails!
Looking forward to being at the Colorado State Capital on April 15!

Obama is sure the great uniter. He united the GOP. He united the Libertarians. He united the Blue Dog Democrats. He united the moderate Democrats. He united the religious Right. And, the list goes on and on.
What a great leader! He united all these people AGAINST himself.

"So how long can the liberal nws media continue to ignore the growing tide of discontent of those who oppose obamas stimulus pork packge"
Maybe we should plan a series of protests in the news media's own office buildings?

The Tea Party in Cincinnati got no coverage because (a) it is in a very Red area; and, (b) it had about the same turnout as any McCain rally. Getting the same 3000 people together 4 1/2 months after the election is not exactly newsworthy.

It, um, did get *ahem* coverage...
Just not in any other neck of the woods.
The paper (Cincinnati Enquirer) had it on the front page, and the local news channels had rather spotty reporting, but spots none the less.
